Chapter 358

Chapter 358: Reality Stone

In a desolate and dark world, a gate of light illuminated the surrounding area.

Then, the figures of Josh and Margot stepped out from the light gate.

“What a desolate and dark planet!” Margot exclaimed, looking at the surroundings.

This was the world of the Dark Elves, Svartalfheim, filled everywhere with dark matter.

But strangely, although this world appeared extremely dark, its gravity, atmosphere, and various environmental conditions were actually suitable for human survival. Otherwise, in the original story, Jane Foster would have died immediately upon accidentally arriving here.

Although humans can survive in such an environment, humans are not nocturnal creatures, and staying long in such a permanently lightless, seemingly lifeless, and very oppressive environment would drive one insane.

“Though desolate and dark, it’s not without value!” Josh said, picking up the conversation. “Can you locate where the Dark Elves are?”

While humans living here long-term would certainly encounter problems, short-term was still possible, and there were countless Dark Elf ruins here. According to the movie’s portrayal, the Dark Elves’ technology was actually quite advanced.

“It’s a bit difficult with just my mind alone. These Dark Elves’ concealment abilities and Bor’s seal are quite formidable. I need some time!” Margot replied, then squatted down and placed her hand on the ground.

As her hand touched the ground, streams of golden divine power seeped into the surface and dispersed into the planet’s interior.

Josh was not surprised by this.

Though the Celestials were far stronger than gods like those of Asgard, they were not omnipotent; even their actions required a process.

“No sign of the Dark Elves, but I found the Reality Stone!” After several minutes, Margot withdrew all her energy and said to Josh.

“Then let’s go!” Josh replied immediately without hesitation.

Margot nodded upon hearing this and immediately opened a portal.

Passing through the portal again, the two appeared in a ruin.

The sealing pillar containing the Reality Stone, as seen in Thor: The Dark World, was right in the center of this ruin.

“Pretty nice, isn’t it?” Josh walked to the stone pillar and looked at the Reality Stone inside the crevice, shining with a dark red light like flowing blood.

“Indeed, but beneath that beautiful exterior, it’s not exactly well-behaved!” Margot answered.

As soon as she finished speaking, the Reality Stone inside the sealing pillar seemed to sense their presence and began to stir.

After a brief hesitation, it suddenly lunged toward Josh.

The sealing had lasted too long. The war between Asgard and the Dark Elves was when Bor, Odin’s father, was young, at least seven or eight thousand years ago—possibly before Odin was even born.

Bor himself had been dead for thousands of years. The seal here was basically weakened to the extreme. Although it could still hide the Reality Stone’s energy aura to prevent leakage, it was powerless to stop the Reality Stone’s own power.

It was only because the entire Svartalfheim was almost lifeless that the Reality Stone remained here.

Once any living being passed by, it would become its host and take it away.

Now, Josh was its target host.

“Looks like it likes me!” Josh smiled slightly, not refusing the Reality Stone’s parasitism but instead reaching out his hand, letting it flow into his body.

“… Likes you? Isn’t it possible it just thinks you’re easy to bully?” Margot’s face briefly showed a smile when she heard Josh’s words.

Like the other Infinity Stones, the Reality Stone had some awareness.

As Margot said, the Reality Stone’s choice of Josh was not because it liked him.

It was because it sensed a threat in Margot, knowing it could not draw life energy from her, so it chose to parasitize Josh, whose strength was obviously many times weaker.

“Margot, saying it so clearly isn’t fun!” Josh rolled his eyes at her words.

Of course, he knew the real reason why the Reality Stone chose him, but that didn’t stop him from pretending otherwise, right?

Margot’s blunt truth made him feel a little embarrassed.

He then vented his frustration on the Reality Stone.

Indeed, compared to Margot’s current strength, he was weak but he was definitely not someone a mere Infinity Stone could bully.

So just as the Reality Stone began to parasitize Josh’s body and was about to absorb his life energy to grow stronger, a burst of violent purple energy suddenly surged forth, guided by a stream of golden divine power, directly hitting the Reality Stone.

Originally flowing in liquid form inside Josh’s body, the Reality Stone had to concentrate under the impact of this energy and finally gathered into the form of a red gem in Josh’s palm!

This violent purple energy naturally came from the Power Stone Josh had obtained long ago.

In the previous life, many online rankings of Infinity Stones placed the Power Stone last among the six due to its relatively simple characteristics.

But in fact, the opposite was true.

The Power Stone, which could enhance the other five stones, was perhaps the most powerful of the six.

This was Josh’s conclusion after obtaining the Space and Time Stones.

Although the other stones appeared to have miraculous powers, Infinity Stones actually counteracted each other.

Different Infinity Stones meeting could nullify each other’s effects.

That was why in Avengers: Infinity War, Doctor Strange did not use the Time Stone against Thanos.

Because at that time, Thanos already held four stones, making the Time Stone ineffective against him.

After the stones’ effects canceled out, what remained was the purest energy battle.

In this regard, the Power Stone, with its wild energy, was undoubtedly the strongest.

This was why the Power Stone could enhance the other five stones.

To enhance often meant to suppress.

This might also explain why Thanos chose the Power Stone as his first target.

Josh had previously confirmed this guess with the Space and Time Stones.

Now, the Power Stone’s suppression of the Reality Stone, forcing it to reveal its true form, proved this point.

“I’ve found them. Turns out they’re not on this planet!” While Josh was taming the Reality Stone, Margot suddenly looked up toward the direction outside the planet.

She had just sensed a faint dark energy fluctuation in a corner of the star system.

“You mean the Dark Elves?” Josh was stunned and recalled that the Dark Elves might indeed not be on the planet.

In the original story, the Dark Elves awoke on their space mothership.

Since it was a space mothership, the likeliest place should be in space.

Josh’s memory of this plot was somewhat fuzzy, so he had somewhat overlooked this.

“Yes!” Margot nodded.

“Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go meet them!” Josh smiled slightly.

“No need. They’re coming toward us!” Margot shook her head in reply.
