Chapter 308

When Jill entered the villa, the Umbrella squad was already escorting Alice and Matt into the tunnel heading to the Hive, and the outer gate had been closed.

However, this was not a problem for Jill now. The combat suit Josh gave her had an automatic hacking device.

With an absolute computational advantage, the perimeter defense system was hacked in less than a minute.

By the time she reached the train platform, the Umbrella squad had just repaired and started the train.

Avoiding the patrolling soldiers, Jill silently climbed onto the top of the train from a blind spot at the rear.

Protected by the full-coverage combat suit, the speed of the underground freight train posed no threat to her.

When the train stopped, the Umbrella squad on guard disembarked without noticing Jill crawling on the roof.

From her vantage point on the roof, Jill witnessed Spencer being discovered and dragged into a carriage.

Only after everyone officially entered the Hive did Jill reveal herself from atop the train.

“Now, the Red Queen you mentioned, she should be able to see me, right?” Jill asked Josh from the other world, glancing at a nearby monitor.

“Of course. But don’t worry, although she’s killed quite a few people, she’s a good girl!” Josh joked, making a joke Jill didn’t quite understand.

“Don’t rush to go in. Go to where Spencer was hiding just now; there’s something good there!” Josh called out as Jill prepared to go deeper into the Hive.

“What’s this?” Following Josh’s instructions, Jill quickly found a safe with a code and used the hacking device in her suit to open it again.

“The blue ones are the T-virus, the green are vaccines. Keep three vaccines as backup, the rest plus the virus count as your equipment fee, okay?” Josh smiled as he explained the cause of this bioweapon crisis to Jill.

“Phew...no problem!” Jill took a deep breath holding the items that could possibly cause the world’s destruction. “But is there really no way to contain this virus?”

“...What do you mean?” Josh raised an eyebrow.

“You can communicate with many other worlds, even ones like Star Wars. I don’t believe that technology at that level can’t develop a drug to completely counter the T-virus!” Jill said, looking at Josh.

“...You’re right. With the technology I have, it’s very possible to develop immunity or even a cure for the T-virus...But the problem is, what are you willing to give up for that? Jill, I think you need to understand one thing: I’m a businessman, not a philanthropist!” Josh raised an eyebrow.

“I know, but I’m still asking you to save my world...I’m willing to give everything for this!” Jill said, getting a bit emotional.

“...You really can give everything?” A strange smile appeared on Josh’s face.

“Yes!” Jill nodded firmly.

“Good, that blue strap top you have looks nice, remember to wear it for me sometime!” Josh said.

“...? That’s it?” Jill was stunned by Josh’s words.

Of course, Jill knew exactly which blue strap top Josh was talking about.

But Josh’s earlier smile made her expect some outrageous demand.

And it turned out Josh just wanted her to wear that blue strap top?

That was just a normal outfit; aside from showing some shoulders to highlight her figure, it wasn’t even revealing.

“Don’t look at me like that, I have a family!” Josh joked seeing Jill’s surprised expression.

...Damn, all that buildup before was just Josh messing with her, Jill rolled her eyes.

At the same time, she felt a little disappointed.

Jill took three vaccines, stuffed them into her tactical pocket, and handed over the virus and the rest of the vaccines to Josh all at once.

Josh didn’t research the virus and vaccines in his own world but, after greeting Jill, traded one set each to Yuri and Vickers.

Jill continued to delve deeper into the Hive on her own.

“I used a mind control device to successfully create a batch of controllable Xenomorphs. Want to test them on that world?” Unlike Vickers, who simply followed orders, Yuri gave his opinion when Josh mentioned the T-virus origin.

“...Are you sure the Xenomorphs won’t be affected by the T-virus and mutate into even more terrifying monsters?” Josh frowned at Yuri’s suggestion.

Zombie Xenomorphs? Josh couldn’t imagine what kind of destruction such a horrifying combination would bring to a relatively normal world like Resident Evil’s.

“...You’re overthinking it. That gene fluid made by the Engineer civilization is far stronger than you think, it has extreme evolution and immunity capabilities. Even though the T-virus you just obtained is strong, infecting Xenomorphs is pure fantasy... But your concerns aren’t unfounded, since they’re from different universes, many things can’t be judged by conventional science. I’ll experiment first!” Yuri said, then cut off communication and threw himself into research.

Josh then reconnected with Jill.

After some delay, the Umbrella squad inside the Hive successfully shut down the Red Queen, sacrificing four members in the process.

This meant the zombies were now unleashed.

The Umbrella squad, just about to retreat, was immediately besieged by countless zombies.

During the chaos, Matt and Alice were separated from the squad due to an explosion in a Licker cultivation tank. Matt lost the handcuff key he had finally obtained and faced a zombie attack.

At the critical moment, a long knife fell, decapitating the zombie attacking Matt.

Then the blade flashed, severing the heads of several other zombies also lunging at Matt.

A head wearing a sci-fi style helmet appeared, looking at Matt hiding under a platform. “Are you okay?”

It was Jill, who had been observing quietly.

“I’m fine, thank you!” Hearing the female voice under the helmet, Matt was a bit stunned and forgot to retrieve the handcuff key that had fallen into the drain.

“Come out! You weren’t bitten, right?” Jill extended her hand to Matt.

“No, but sorry, I’d like to shake your hand, but my hands are cuffed, and the key fell into the drain!” Matt snapped back to reality and tried to reach for the key.

But Jill grabbed his collar and pulled him out from under the platform. Her long knife glowed briefly, and with a light swing, the handcuffs that had troubled Matt for so long instantly became useless metal.

“Oh...thanks, but what’s that? A Jedi lightsaber? And who are you?” Matt looked at Jill’s glowing thermal knife fading away, then examined her gear in amazement.

“Jill Valentine, RCPD (Raccoon City Police Department)!” Jill replied.

“...That’s not funny. Although I’m a fake cop, I know no police in Raccoon City or even the entire US would have equipment like yours!” Matt said incredulously.

Just then, a loud crash came from behind Matt. A cultivation tank was torn open, scaring him.

Seeing this, Jill didn’t hesitate. Her thermal knife recharged and stabbed into the tank, instantly silencing the creature inside.

“What is that?” Matt still looked suspicious.

“A Licker, a bioweapon created by Umbrella Corporation. Trust me, you don’t want to see their real faces!” Jill shared the information Josh gave her. “As for me, I was a cop until today, but now, my goal is to completely destroy Umbrella!”

“Matt...who are you?” At that moment, Alice appeared.

“Oh, nice to meet you, Alice!” Jill under the helmet glanced at this key figure in Josh’s world with interest.

“Do we know each other?” Alice asked, confused.

“I know you, but you don’t know me. However, that doesn’t matter. You’re not going to just stand there and talk to me like this forever, right?” She casually swung her knife and chopped down another zombie that lunged at her. “Let’s go, we’re going to find the others!”

“You said the Lickers are Umbrella Corporation’s bioweapons, I can understand that, but what about these people?” Matt hurried to catch up and then asked Jill, while Alice pricked up her ears to listen.

“Umbrella Corporation’s real bioweapon is a virus called the Tyrant virus, also known as T. There was a T-virus leak here. These people were all infected. To prevent the virus from spreading, the Red Queen sealed off this place and killed everyone…and you released them!” Jill explained casually. While speaking, she took two pistols and several magazines from her waist and tossed them to the two. These were weapons she had taken after killing some guard zombies on the way.

“Thanks…So, everyone here really died, right?” Matt took the gun and first thanked her, then asked heavily.

“You mean Lisa, right?” Jill asked.

“…You know where she is?” Hearing his sister’s name, Matt suddenly became emotional.

“Yes. Unfortunately, she, like those guys, turned into a living corpse. I finished her off!” Jill answered.

“Damn Umbrella!” Matt cursed angrily.

“How do you know so much?” Alice, standing nearby, asked puzzled.

“In fact, you know more than I do!” Jill answered without even looking back.

While they spoke, they caught up with the remaining Umbrella squad members surrounded by zombies. One member was trying to open the evacuation door.

Seeing this, Jill immediately drew her pulse rifle and fired a shot at the electronic door lock, startling JD who was trying to open it.

The female squad members, Rain and Kaplan, who were originally stopping zombies from approaching, instinctively aimed their guns at Jill.

However, Jill ignored them and fired her pulse rifle in rapid bursts, headshotting the zombies that the Umbrella squad members had been unable to kill, clearing a large group instantly.

Matt and Alice also killed quite a few zombies following suit.

“To kill these guys, you have to shoot the head!” After finishing, Jill put her gun away.

“Who the hell are you?” Rain asked Jill, clearly unhappy.

“Do you know what you’ve done? You’ve completely sealed this door shut! We can’t get out!” JD angrily scolded Jill.

“Are you sure you want to open this door?” Jill pointed to the hole she had just blasted in the electronic door.

Umbrella’s defense measures were strong, but against a pulse rifle from the interstellar era, they were nothing.

From the hole she made came the growls of zombies.

Because Jill and the others made a lot of noise clearing zombies earlier, no one noticed, but now hearing this, if the door were opened, JD could not imagine how horribly he would die.

“Were you bitten?” Jill then looked at the wound on Rain’s hand.

“Yes, what’s the problem?” Rain snapped.

“Of course there’s a problem. Those guys turned into these monsters because of virus infection. If you don’t get treatment in time, in less than two hours, you’ll become one of them!” Jill stated bluntly.

Her words shocked Rain.

“But I have to say, today is your lucky day!” At that moment, Jill pulled out a vaccine from her waist and, before Rain could react, injected it into her arm.

“What’s this…?” Startled by Jill’s talk of the virus, Rain didn’t resist this time.

“A vaccine!” Jill answered briefly.

Everyone else was curious where Jill got the vaccine, and at that moment, Spencer in the distance saw the vaccine in Jill’s hand and his mind started recalling everything!

He immediately began scheming, wanting to get rid of these people in front of him.

However, as if Jill had eyes on the back of her head, right after injecting Rain with the vaccine, she drew her pulse rifle again and shot Rain in the head.

“What are you doing?” The others were shocked, but because of Jill saving Rain and the secrets she had casually revealed, they didn’t act rashly. Only Alice, whose memory had not recovered, raised her gun and aimed it at Jill.

“Because he’s the culprit behind all this. Is that reason enough?” Jill didn’t even glance at Alice and didn’t say the other thought in her mind—that not only was Spencer the culprit, but Alice herself was as well!

“I know you have many questions. Now we’re going to the main control room. When we get there, you’ll know everything!” Jill said, turning and heading toward the main control room without looking back.
