What's Next?

You've reached the very end of Jackal Among Snakes.

Whether you've been here years or months, thanks for sticking it through. This is the first series that I've ever completed, and it's served as a very wonderful learning experience. I honestly didn't picture myself earning a living writing a generic transmigration fantasy, but I've had a great deal of fun and fulfillment doing so. It all started by just writing something that I'd want to read, and I suppose that worked for a lot of people. Even if this success is a one-off thing, I'm happy that I did this. I hope the same is true for you, reading it.

Where do things go from here? Well, naturally, I'll be moving on to new stories. It's been a good ride here, but I'm more than ready to move on from this world. If you want to post some questions in the comments, I'll respond for a couple of days after this post goes up. Disclaimer, though: not going to respond to big review essays. If you've got a review or critique, leave it in the reviews. It makes it a lot easier to find criticism when I'm looking for it.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

In a month or so, I'll have a new story in the same style as Jackal Among Snakes posted on this account. It won't be in the same universe or anything like that, but it will be the same general tone: medieval fantasy, transmigration or reincarnation, action/adventure. For now, however, I'm working concurrently on two side projects, both of them fantasy. If they perform well, I'm not opposed to devoting a lot more time to them. They're linked in the author's notes below.

It was a great journey. Now I feel mixed emotions: Emptiness, joy, sadness, melancholy… This is only part of the storm that both torments and warms my soul at the same time. It is a good story in any case. In some places, the pacing felt dragged out, but it was rare. There are also issues with the power scaling near the end, where the limits become blurred; however, this feels like a deliberate choice made in favor of the narrative. It was a wise decision, as it allows the reader to fully enjoy the story without focusing on distracting technicalities. The epilogue truly hooked me, especially the part about Enrico’s death. I won’t go into details, but somehow… it turned out wonderful?

At some point, the comment section went from around 5-10 comments to mostly empty comments (had to be adding comments myself despite the fact I prefer reading comments lol)

Overall, it's a very good read... not without flaws here and there but I did enjoy binge-reading it for 3 weeks.

This might be a hot take, not sure, but I think the epilogue was a lot (IMO a 1 or 2 chapter summary would have been better, leaving the rest for our imagination.)

I have crippling depression after I complete a novel especially ones like this so I feel more chapters delay that depression as I look other novels to read and save me from depression. Seriously, how am I going to escape from this addiction...

Finally done. Was a little long at times, but all in all, a good story. It's crazy to see how far my AA ship (Argrave x Annelise) came lol
