The royal bastard of House Vasquer, Argrave, has changed after his stay studying magic at the Tower of the Gray Owl. The sickly man’s awkward posture and cruel behavior have been replaced with a neat dignity and acerbic wit. His listless life has found a path of undeniable purpose. Most come away thinking he seems to know too many details about too much. Few can claim to know his motives or his goals.

Behind the scenes, though, the primary contributor for an open-world RPG’s wiki battles existential dread and things far beyond his ken as he struggles to adapt to a grim, gothic fantasy world that he had the misfortune to claim as his favorite game. This is his tale.

#####What to expect from this story#####

This piece is a high-fantasy style story, featuring many of the species and surroundings one might expect to find in such a world. The cultures are original and well-developed, with the primary setting being a European-style feudal society. Warfare, fell beasts, and natural disasters are commonplace in Berendar, and take the center of many plots. The protagonist is a smooth-talker, but the world does not exist for him; he must struggle to gain power.

      Minimal system.

technical everyone has a system mc can just see his own abilities in a more structured manner.

Also it’s not show all that much I can count on one hand how many time it’s been shown in ~200 chapters.

This novel is not perfect, but it is a good read. Unless you are suffering from cultivation brainrot, then it's fodder.

This novel is so colored by the culture and the author is so fixed in his views that I cannot stomach it anymore at chapter 488. It's similarly distasteful as Hollywood/Jewish movies, or worse than Chinese novels.

That guy was ragebaiting, the novel's actually great. Not Lotm or Rtoc level, but I would say equal to or better than SS.

This is a pretty solid read with its clever RPG-knowledge twist and steady progression. Personally, I like the MC's personality and think it's one of the novel's strong points, but with the ongoing trend of readers seeking ruthless protag like Fang Yuan, I'm sure it won't appeal to everyone. If you fall into that category, this might not be for you. bond

The novel has many excellent qualities... great worldbuilding, well-executed magic system, and engaging action scenes. However, I think the story's major weakness lies in its character development, which is largely affected by the overarching doomsday plot.

Some characters who were genuinely interesting in the earlier chapters gradually became bland or felt almost useless, reduced to being carried along for the ride. I believe this stems from their character arcs being completed too early in the story, leaving little room for meaningful growth or contribution later on. Additionally, there are characters who serve little purpose beyond being plot devices to drive the narrative forward.

This character stagnation is the main reason I can't give this series a perfect 10/10 rating. Despite these flaws, the story remains highly engaging and binge-worthy.
    Overall Rating: 7.5/10

Conclusion: The novel delivers a compelling isekai experience with strong worldbuilding and an entertaining protagonist, but falls short of greatness due to inconsistent character development. While some supporting characters lose their initial charm as the story progresses, the core elements, clever use of game knowledge, solid magic system, and engaging plot, make it a worthwhile read for fans of the genre. If you can overlook the character issues and enjoy a more diplomatic MC rather than a ruthless one, this series will likely keep you hooked from start to finish.

I'm only in a little over 100 chaps, but well... even that includes more than 2 arcs... and so far its been very good. The pacing especially is very good. Each arc is barely 50 chaps, and yet it doesnt feel like its short. The character development of the mc is gradual, but significant - it feels like how ur neighbours have a kid, u see him every day, u wont realize how much he has grown in an year, but only if u look back - its the same here, real subtle character development, and the fmc makes it even sweeter. Author doesnt use the 'gotta make his character develop, so lets kill a few characters'.

Best of all is his jokes. Its a very significant part of his character. Thing is, he can both joke just for the sake of leisure, and also make use of his jokes in more cunning ways.

I never felt it being slow-paced, I wonder why quite a few people are saying it dragged on? Care to explain?
I've read until somewhere in the Burnt Desert arc (he's not yet met the alchemist guy), so I hope u will consider that so as not to spoil me.

After completing it, he's kinda right about it feeling kinda dragged, especially in the later chapters... the story could have used half the number of chapters it used without rushing it, and it might have been better paced in fact but can't really complain since it's less than 1k chapters in totally anyway

Very well written novel, that offers nothing news.
The MC personality is such a turn off, bro had a hero complex that made me drop this novel.
4/10. Recommended for new readers only.

well damn, I'm surprised how u can even say that
      - for one, being good-natured and psychologically sane is normal. Why would a normal college student from earth be ruthless and evil? Thats not hero complex
      - but if u talk about his quest of defeating that Gerechtigkeit as being hero complex.... I'd say he knows the urgency, and he knows without him, things are bound to go haywire. Its not exactly purely for survival, but there's a few other psychological reasons, which are more subtle, barely ever mentioned, but almost constantly indicated. It was one of the reasons I loved his character actually. He's not a coward, but he doesnt have hero complex either, nor is he arrogant of his encyclopedic knowledge.
