Chapter 33: Thanks to Him

"I told you, the so-called magic scroll will belong to me after I kill you."

Evelos's face instantly turned deathly pale, his lips trembling slightly.

"Order your troops to retreat!"

"Impossible!" Evelos gritted his teeth, but before he could finish speaking, Jonas moved like lightning.

With a tearing sound, Jonas's sword flashed coldly as it cleanly severed Evelos's ear.

Blood instantly gushed forth.

Accompanied by Evelos's agonized scream: "Ah—"

Jonas remained expressionless, letting Evelos's wails echo through the air.

The nearby Destiny Army soldiers tried to approach.

With a swift slash of his right hand, a powerful air current instantly repelled the approaching soldiers.

"Anyone who continues resisting will die!" Jonas's voice carried across the entire battlefield.

Along with it came Evelos's piercing screams.

The next moment.

Jonas raised Evelos high, his body trembling slightly, face contorted in pain and despair.

Seeing this, the soldiers hesitated, instinctively wanting to retreat.

Jonas swung his right hand again, and several blazing fireballs instantly condensed in midair, their burning flames emitting blinding light.

One after another they formed.

The Destiny Army soldiers couldn't help but widen their eyes at the sight.

Their retreating footsteps quickened.

This man...

Was he a demon?

"I'll say it one last time, those who don't retreat will die!"

Jonas's voice was icy and resolute.

No sooner had he spoken than his iron sword flashed again, and the hand holding Evelos's staff was instantly chopped off.

Another bloodcurdling scream rang out as blood rained down, dripping onto the ground with audible splashes.

The next moment, as weapons clattered to the ground.

One soldier instinctively cried out:

"Even our leader is captured... run... run away!"

His voice carried a sob.

This cry seemed to break the soldiers' last shred of resolve, igniting panic in their hearts.

Many dropped their weapons and fled, shouting: "Run!"

Like a stone creating ripples.

The next moment.

Countless Destiny Army soldiers scrambled backward in retreat.

Jonas watched as the soldiers retreated like a receding tide.

He let out a soft sigh.

When morale collapses, even the most elite troops lose their fighting spirit, let alone these self-proclaimed Destiny natives.

Beside him, Evelos clutched his wounds, watching everything with pain and despair.

"Is this your army?"

"I..."

"Pathetic. This is exactly why I said your Destiny Army isn't worthy!"

"......"

...

As the Destiny Army retreated.

The battlefield was left in complete disarray.

Thunderkeep's soldiers stared at the scene.

First in stunned silence.

Then someone murmured unconsciously: "Did we win?"

"We won!"

"Ura~ We won!"

Even after realizing what happened, many still couldn't believe it.

Cheers erupted spontaneously.

They could hardly imagine that a few thousand could truly repel tens of thousands.

When the Destiny Army had arrived at their gates.

Everyone had been in despair!

With the Destiny forces at their walls and mages leading the charge, the fall of their small territory had seemed inevitable.

Yet against all odds, they had won.

Instead, they had driven back the enemy.

Captured their leader, sent them fleeing in panic.

Amid the cheers, everyone couldn't help but stare at Jonas standing before the army.

At that straight, upright figure.

They couldn't help but marvel:

"All this is thanks to Young Master Jonas!"

"He's truly amazing!"

"Right!"

"He really led us to smash through their formations!"

"You wouldn't believe it—when Young Master Jonas said we were charging, I could hardly believe it!"

"But caught up in the moment, I followed him into battle."

"Now seeing this outcome, I feel like I'm dreaming."

"Charging with Young Master Jonas feels like one of the greatest honors of my life."

"Jonas!"

"Jonas!"

"Jonas!"

....

Even Slynda, who had always clashed with Jonas, leaned on her sword and couldn't help but sigh.

"Thanks to him."

Having experienced so many battles, she understood better than anyone what would have happened if those native Destiny forces had breached their walls.

It would have been a scene of unprecedented cruelty.

For women like her, the fate would have been even worse.

She truly never imagined that the useless person she once looked down upon would one day lead them to crush an army of tens of thousands.
