[You have arrived at a long-abandoned apartment building alone, but strangely, you are stuck on the 6th floor and cannot move upward. At this moment, you hear a phone ringing from downstairs...]

[*Note: Only by defeating the final BOSS can you end this simulation!]

"I knew it!"

"The simulator always activates even when the atmosphere isn't right. Now that the atmosphere is just perfect, there's no reason it wouldn't start!"

Guan Shan had almost figured out the simulator's pattern. As long as there was a scene remotely related to horror, it would eagerly latch on.

However, after so many experiences, Guan Shan was now battle-hardened and wouldn't be scared out of his wits by these mere tricks.

"It's just a looping hallway? Ha, there's no monster yet, what's there to be afraid of?"

Guan Shan sneered, directly taking out his Nuclear-powered Flashlight, cautiously walking to the balcony hallway on the 6th floor. He looked around and found that indeed, no monsters had appeared.

The darkness was silent, with no sudden monster attack.

Guan Shan breathed a sigh of relief, then muttered, "What a false alarm."

"Pick up your phone, somebody it’s trying to get through..."

Suddenly, a loud and urgent ringtone echoed.

Guan Shan shivered, his whole body tensed, almost jumping up.

"Damn..."

He steadied himself, remembering the simulator's plot: "This is the clue, right? It's telling me to go downstairs?"

Guan Shan turned around, looking at the staircase below, finding nothing unusual.

He listened carefully to the direction of the ringtone, finding it wasn't directly below but rather a bit farther away, possibly in a room.

"Still using the Minion version of the iPhone ringtone, how playful... I should follow the sound and find the monster."

Guan Shan walked down a floor, shining his flashlight, only to find the floor sign still read 6.

It seemed he was truly stuck on the 6th floor.

The ringtone kept playing for about 40 seconds before stopping, then started again after a while.

Following the sound, Guan Shan found the public restroom on the 6th floor.

This old, large apartment had a public restroom on each floor, perhaps for emergencies.

"Squeak—"

Guan Shan pushed open the half-closed restroom door, a strong stench hitting his nose.

He couldn't help but cover his nose. Although it was just a moment, he could sense that besides the restroom smell, there was an extremely strong scent of blood.

His flashlight revealed the floor covered in chaotic bloodstains.

It looked like someone had been attacked here and struggled desperately...

"It seems this person was dragged into the restroom by something."

Guan Shan took a deep breath, his heart racing, tightly gripping his flashlight and gun, looking at the closed restroom stalls, slowly approaching.

The blood trail was obvious, leading to the third stall from the end.

The phone ringtone rang for the third time, coming from that stall.

Fully armed, Guan Shan switched his gun for a knife.

The weapon forged from [Yellow Springs Forged Steel] had emerged from the furnace yesterday, and it did not disappoint Guan Shan, with quite impressive stats and effects.

[Demon Blade · Yellow Springs]

[Attack Power: 1200]

[Effect: Increases Attack Power by 1% per enemy killed, and self-repairs.]

[Description: A sufficiently sharp long blade with red wave-like patterns on the black blade. When killing, it shines and flows, as if thirstily drinking the enemy's blood.]

A full 1200 Attack Power!

No fancy special effects, just increases Attack Power with kills and basically zero wear, simple and effective.

However, despite its high Attack Power, the knife needed to hit a target to be effective, meaning close combat, increasing the danger.

If there was no way to maintain distance, Guan Shan would not choose to use a knife.

Swallowing hard, Guan Shan carefully opened the stall door, gripping the knife tightly, ready for an ambush.

But there was no monster, just a mutilated corpse.

The corpse was twisted from head to toe, missing many parts, barely recognizable as a young man, lying in the restroom trench, with a cracked phone next to it.

Guan Shan cautiously waited for a while before picking up the phone and quickly stepping back to a safe distance.

The phone was covered in thick, coagulated blood, seemingly having been there for some time.

The phone was fingerprint-locked, but with the enthusiastic (forced) cooperation of the owner, Guan Shan unlocked it.

The phone rang for the fourth time.

Guan Shan, looking at the caller ID, felt he had to answer to find the BOSS's location.

"Hello—don't come near... help, someone save me..."

The call connected, and a young man's trembling, incoherent voice came through.

He sounded extremely panicked, almost crying: "I won't mess around anymore, Yu, Fei... save me, save me... Fei, say something..."

Unsure if it was an NPC or a trap, Guan Shan asked, "Where are you?"

The young man hesitated, then delightedly exclaimed, "Fei? You're alive?!"

Guan Shan glanced at the corpse, now knowing the person's name was Fei: "I'm not Fei."

The man froze, then fearfully stuttered, "Wh-who are you then..."

Guan Shan replied, "A kind-hearted passing player."

The man was confused, "P-player?"

Guan Shan didn't expect an NPC or monster to understand the concept, continuing, "That doesn't matter. What's important is, where are you? I'm coming to save you."

The man, thoughts muddled, asked, "How will you save me?"

"None of your business."

Guan Shan figured it was more likely a trap or a useless NPC, not a powerful ally like the girl with the knife.

And in this creepy restroom with a corpse, he felt immense psychological pressure.

He just wanted to get out quickly.

So his tone was harsh.

Guan Shan impatiently said, "Just tell me where you are. I'm in a hurry. You're being hunted, right?"

Using his journalistic skills, he reasoned, "If you gain another enemy, you're still dead. Gain a rescuer, and you're in luck. Why not take a chance?"

The man was stunned, thinking, it made sense?

Hesitating, he said, "I'm in 613... 'It' is in the walls, the floor, can move anytime. I'm scared to touch these places, be careful..."

Guan Shan immediately scanned the walls and floor around him: "Alright, I'm coming."

He hung up and threw the phone into the trench, turning to leave.

---

Meanwhile, across the street from the apartment, a man, dressed and looking ordinary, smiled at the building: "It seems Qin Deguang's unification ritual finally succeeded."

"But too bad... tsk tsk, it took two weeks with such close blood relatives as sacrifices, his talent is really poor."

"But the one 'Death Hive' has been watching, interesting."

The man wore an amused expression: "Since we're here, let me see your strength."

The man's hand had a third eye, which blinked in sync with the eye on 704's door.

The eye Guan Shan saw wasn't Qin Deguang's, but this man's doing.

It could monitor, and act as a proxy, simply controlling the attached.

As the door's eye closed and disappeared, an eye opened on the back of the corpse's neck.

---

Guan Shan took a few steps out, then retreated.

Suspiciously eyeing the seemingly dead corpse, he knew that in horror games, corpses could come to life.

Especially such a deliberate one.

After two seconds, Guan Shan decided to shoot the corpse's head.

"Bang!"

The incendiary round exploded, and a blood-red number appeared.

-1876!

Guan Shan was shocked: "It actually took damage?!"
