Chapter 14: Killer Bees, Taoluo and BK

As the Special Security Group predicted, the "Killer Bees" were indeed coming for Guan Shan.

This "ordinary person" without a response to energy detection yet capable of killing two D-class superhumans attracted many invisible gazes that night.

Some were scrutinizing, some curious, and naturally, some malicious.

Moreover, the so-called "Ascension Sugar" developed by the "Killer Bees" was a drug that could force ordinary people to awaken superpowers by overdrawing their life force. In other words, the targets must have no energy response.

The "Killer Bees" needed a large number of different samples to experiment with its effects.

Zhao Hong and Fang Minmin were the previous victims.

This time, they had their eyes on an even better, almost perfect specimen—Guan Shan.

The members sent by the "Killer Bees" were two individuals.

Taoluo and BK.

Taoluo's code name was "Worker Bee Four," and BK was "Worker Bee Ten."

In the "Killer Bees" organization, one can only inherit a corresponding code name by killing or defeating the next ranked person.

This means Taoluo is the fourth-ranked in terms of strength among the Worker Bees.

However... he is only a Worker Bee; the Drone Bees wouldn’t come for such simple tasks.

Yes, simple.

To Taoluo, this task was ridiculously simple.

No matter how you look at it, the target was at most a D-class flesh-type superhuman. Besides extraordinary observational skills and a suspected ability to devour others' flesh for self-healing, there was nothing special.

The lack of energy response was probably some form of disguise.

No matter how impressive he seemed later, he merely killed two D-classes.

Who hasn’t done that? And Taoluo had just recently broken through to C-class, full of confidence in his strength.

Through his practice and newly acquired D-class superhuman skin collections, he realized that moving from D-class to C-class was a qualitative leap! "I wonder if peeling off this guy’s face will be any different?"

Thinking this, Taoluo licked his lips with fascination.

His favorite pastime was collecting the faces of the defeated, making them his eternal collection.

Though he was getting excited, Taoluo still needed to play his role as the "driver" well.

How to deceive the Special Security Group was the organization's problem to solve; he just needed to wait patiently for the right moment.

Once BK, with his space superpower, teleported Xia Lei five kilometers away to the city.

By the time this B-class superhuman rushed back, he would only find the corpses of his subordinates.

The more Taoluo thought about it, the more excited he became; killing under the nose of a B-class superhuman would be a first.

"Knock knock."

The sound of tapping on the glass window came from the left. Taoluo knew it was BK reminding him that it was time to act.

Taoluo looked at the child peeking from the bus roof. Because of his emaciated frame, his head appeared disproportionately large, his eyes staring intently in a somewhat terrifying manner.

This child, recently added to the "Killer Bees" as a semi-successful subject of the "Ascension Sugar" experiment, was initially a stray child from who knows where, casually captured and fed the "Ascension Sugar" by a member.

Unexpectedly, he awakened the rare space superpower "Teleport."

Unfortunately, the then-unrefined "Ascension Sugar" had powers far beyond what a chronically malnourished ordinary child could bear.

At the moment of BK's awakening, the immense and complex energy even granted him the physical strength of a D-class flesh-type superhuman.

A superhuman with both strength and teleportation ability sounded perfect.

But regrettably, BK only had one month to live.

"Making the most out of it…"

Hearing the sound of the Special Security member’s head falling, Taoluo smirked.

"Alright, it's about time to send this reporter on his way."

Taoluo unhurriedly stopped the bus first, then left the driver's seat, pulling off his gloves, and approached the terrified and retreating Guan Shan.

Under the bus lights, Guan Shan's pale and panicked face was clearly visible.

"Haha... yes, that's the expression I want. More of that."

Taoluo raised his hand. The entire bus was covered by his control; all metal was at his command, becoming his will.

"If you’re this scared now, how beautiful will you look when you’re torn apart!"

At this moment, BK struck swiftly, inserting a poisoned blade through the roof slit, delivering a lightning-fast blow to Guan Shan.

"Woo-hoo~ Taoluo cheered inwardly for this strike.

The blade was coated with neurotoxin, which even flesh-type superhumans couldn’t withstand.

In just three seconds, the toxin would paralyze the nerves, effectively a death sentence.

And judging by Guan Shan’s reaction speed, it confirmed Taoluo’s thought.

This guy was at most a D-class flesh-type superhuman, overly exaggerated... "Ascension Sugar" wasn't necessary for those already with powers.

Just as Taoluo began counting down the three seconds in his mind to end the reporter's life in the most painful way possible.

He saw the scrambling Guan Shan suddenly pull out a roll of bandages from somewhere.

"Bandages?"

Taoluo was momentarily stunned, struggling to comprehend the situation.

"Is he trying to use bandages to stop the bleeding?"

Taoluo found it both absurd and amusing, "So scared that he’s lost his mind? And wasn’t he injured on his face? Is he planning to wrap his head?"

Even someone with no combat experience wouldn’t try to wrap their face with bandages in such a tense battle! Taoluo could only attribute Guan Shan’s strange behavior to being scared out of his wits.

So he watched with interest to see what Guan Shan intended to do; observing his prey's foolish antics before death was one of his pleasures.

However, Guan Shan didn’t wrap the bandages around his head.

He wrapped them around his hand.

Once again, Taoluo was dumbfounded, then couldn’t help but laugh.

"Hahahaha... interesting, very interesting. I almost feel like not killing you, but this is a mission."

Thinking for a moment, he generously said, "Alright then, I’ll give you the time it takes for the 'Ascension Sugar' to take effect to struggle as gratitude for your performance—"

"Rejoice, and then... struggle."

——

Guan Shan, drenched in cold sweat, saw the faceless monster in front of him gesturing wildly, making a series of unintelligible sounds.

Then it pulled out an orange candy-like object, preparing to approach.

Guan Shan sensed it might be preparing a big move.

His hands sped up as he wrapped the bandages.

[Emergency Bandages]

[Effect: Immediately restores 20% health; removes poison, stun, slow, and other negative statuses.]

[Description: For external and internal use, cures all ailments.]

It only required wrapping on the body to complete the action, yet it was described as for external and internal use. This simulator was really twisted!

Although "cures all ailments" was an exaggeration, the effect was real.

Even though Guan Shan was almost at full health, using the emergency bandages seemed wasteful, but he couldn't afford the poisoned status.

Even with 990 full health, this level 10 monster could probably one-shot him.

Not to mention adding poison.

However, due to the monster’s inexplicable pause, Guan Shan had already found the only usable item in this scenario.

On the severed neck of the passenger engulfed by the flesh wall, the word [Explosive] was displayed!
