After the boss left, that customer also left the general store, leaving only Lin Ye alone in that old space.
Lin Ye walked among the shelves, all of which held antique-like merchandise, though mixed in were large numbers of fakes deliberately made to feel like the real thing.
Even Lin Ye couldn't determine the authenticity of a few of the individual items.
Twenty minutes later, the boss walked out holding a white card. Lin Ye paid 10 Trade Points and received that white card.
"Would you like to look at other merchandise? I've collected many old relics from the past. People often come here to dig for treasures."
The boss said with a smile.
"Forget it. I don't want to buy fakes."
Lin Ye put away the card, preparing to leave the general store.
"But that's the fun of buying antiques. What, don't you have confidence in your eye for quality?"
"What does that have to do with having a good eye? Everything here is fake. I can't very well buy something that doesn't exist."
Lin Ye walked out of the general store. Behind him, the smile on the boss's face gradually faded.
The alley was still empty, but when Lin Ye walked toward the exit, several burly men turned into the alley and walked straight toward him.
Lin Ye glanced back. Several figures had also appeared at the other end of the alley. These people showed no hesitation at all, all of them quickening their pace to approach Lin Ye.
Clearly, these people were coming for him.
Lin Ye didn't stop. He even increased his speed, walking forward with an aura that suggested he intended to deal with everyone in front of him.
The burly men in front noticeably slowed their pace. They didn't seem to expect Lin Ye to be so reckless as to approach them.
So when Lin Ye reached them, one of the burly men instinctively took a step back.
Lin Ye passed through the gap between them, pressing so close they almost touched.
The leading burly man suddenly spun around and punched toward the back of Lin Ye's head. His speed was fast, but he only struck a layer of spiritual energy shield.
The surrounding burly men attacked simultaneously, but their strikes not only failed to break the spiritual energy shield, they were instead redirected by the suddenly rotating shield toward each other.
Under Lin Ye's control, these burly men completed a round of mutual beatdown.
Their expressions turned extremely ugly, but before they could react, they completely vanished under Lin Ye's gaze.
It wasn't triggered spatial teleportation. They were disintegrated into tiny particles and absorbed into the air.
This wasn't Lin Ye's doing. These people had violated the system's rules.
Lin Ye turned to look behind him. Those figures stopped in their tracks, turned around, and quickly left the alley.
After that, until Lin Ye entered the shelter, no one bothered him again.

Lin Ye put away the card. He felt this card might come in handy later.
"But not today."
Lin Ye entered the basement, retrieved the Blessing of the Lord of Emerald Capital from his collection and placed it into his loot space. Then he inserted the Exploration Mission Card he'd just obtained into the card reader.

"Yes."

Lin Ye's vision went dark, and he completely lost consciousness.

Lin Ye looked around. He was standing on a patch of land completely devoid of life.
The environment had thin air, extremely low spiritual energy concentration, and was filled with large amounts of toxic gases.
Above his head, instead of a normal sky, there was an earth-gray giant vortex. That vortex was devouring this planet's spiritual energy.
And it wasn't just one vortex. The entire planet was wrapped in these vortexes, which were squeezing out the last bit of energy from this planet.
Lin Ye didn't know what was on the other side of those vortexes. That had little to do with him. He was very satisfied with this plane.
Just as Lin Ye was about to take out the Blessing of the Lord of Emerald Capital, six humanoid figures in black uniform robes that covered their faces appeared around him, surrounding him in the middle.
"You're not the masters of this place, are you? That would be a bit troublesome."
Lin Ye took out the Cross Scepter. He couldn't sense the strength of these people, which meant they were most likely not spiritual energy users.
Some kind of change suddenly occurred in the surrounding space. Lin Ye had sensed a similar change before. This was spatial lockdown that prevented spatial teleportation.
"You've taken something you shouldn't have. We were sent to retrieve those things."
The black-robed figure facing Lin Ye spoke.
He didn't immediately attack because he first needed to get that thing out of Lin Ye.
"Oh, so you're here to cause trouble. Then I can relax."
Lin Ye breathed a sigh of relief. If there were still people surviving on this plane, it really would have been inconvenient for him to act.
"Is this guy an idiot? We're all Controllers. Do you even know what Controllers are? If the thing you took wasn't so important, we wouldn't waste our time coming here. You don't think that killing some high-level spiritual energy users makes you invincible, do you?"
The black-robed figure standing at Lin Ye's side laughed.
"You call yourselves Controllers? You clearly don't even know why I'm here. The organization behind you must be some third-rate outfit too, otherwise they wouldn't have sent you at a time like this."
Lin Ye revealed a somewhat mocking smile. He had thought Controllers were all true experts, but it seemed there were also useless ones who had advanced using resources.
"Is that so?"
As the voice sounded, Lin Ye was smashed into a pile of meat paste. He had actually tried to react, but these people seemed to be using some kind of multi-person mixed force field that suppressed his ability to move.
This mixed force field prevented both his body and spirit from acting freely.
"Aren't we supposed to retrieve the target item?"
"Oh? This doesn't seem to be his true body. His true body seems to be hidden in another space."
"Interesting. Watch me pull him out."
A black-robed figure standing at the side suddenly reached out and tore through space. An abandoned city district drifting with ashes appeared before them.
"This is really... somewhat ridiculous."
The leading black-robed figure looked at the World of Ashes and let out an exclamation.
