Chapter 132: The Great Battle |
Buzzzzz!!!
What a twist of fate!
Several heavy-duty trucks swerved left at an intersection, as countless zombies surged into the streets ahead. Yet, the Black Crow Convoy weaved through them effortlessly. The zombies charged forward, and so did the roaring engines.
Some zombies lunged at the convoy, only to be swiftly crushed beneath the wheels. Hearing Qiu Long’s command, the thugs inside the vehicles howled in excitement—they knew a grand hunt awaited them just ahead.
Meanwhile, the smaller fleeing convoy, which had been under relentless gunfire, suddenly noticed the bullets had stopped. Confused, they hesitated for a moment.
At the same time, in the ruins of a collapsed storefront, the middle-aged ability user, bloodied and battered, struggled to crawl out from beneath the rubble.
"Brother Dong! Brother Dong!"
His walkie-talkie crackled with urgent calls from his team. Kneeling, he grabbed it with shaking hands. "I... I'm still alive."
"They're not chasing us anymore."
High above the battlefield, Guo Er spared a lazy glance at the store. To him, that guy was just a weak Level-1 ability user—worthless. His real prize was that train!
"Guo Er, block the road! Don’t let them escape!"
"Exactly what I was thinking!" Guo Er sneered.
The ability to fly was the dream of many survivors. It granted him unmatched mobility in the apocalypse. Even if he couldn’t win a fight, he could always retreat. Over time, his confidence had swelled to arrogance.
Now, eyeing the speeding train, he pulled out a grenade, flapped his wings, and shot toward the locomotive.
Rat-tat-tat-tat!
Seeing a figure approaching from the sky, the convoy's gunners fired without hesitation.
"Captain Lin, watch out!" Shu Qin's anxious voice crackled through Infinite Train’s cockpit intercom.
"Perfect timing!" Lin Xian’s sharp gaze locked onto the airborne attacker. The moment he understood Guo Er’s intent, his expression turned cold.
"Oh, you can fly? Let’s see if you still can after this!"
Zap!
Lin Xian swung open the cockpit door, leaned out, and raised his hand—electricity crackled between his fingers.
Guo Er scoffed mid-flight. "Trying to hit me with—"
BZZZT!
A blinding bolt of electricity surged through the sky—far faster than any bullet. Before Guo Er could react, it pierced straight through his shoulder and one of his wings.
Feathers exploded in all directions, scattering like a wounded duck blasted from the sky.
"Holy sh*t! A lightning ability user?!"
Panic twisted Guo Er’s face. No matter how fast he was, he couldn’t outrun lightning. Struck hard, he spiraled out of control, plummeting toward the railway tracks below.
SCREECH—
The Infinite Train slowed to a stop. The convoy behind it followed suit, soldiers gripping their weapons, preparing for battle.
Lin Xian leaped off the train, sprinting toward the fallen enemy—one less enemy, one less threat!
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Gunfire erupted! The side door of Car No. 7 slammed open, and Luo Ye unleashed a barrage from his light machine gun, shredding into the oncoming enemy convoy.
From the rear, Shu Qin and Xu Jin’s teams also opened fire.
The battle had officially ignited.
"There's a strong one among them?!"
Inside the Black Crow convoy, Qiu Long watched in surprise as Guo Er was shot out of the sky. A cold glint flashed in his eyes.
VROOM!
He slammed the gas pedal, plowing through the zombie horde. Then, turning to a subordinate, he barked, "Take the wheel!"
With terrifying speed, he kicked open the door and leaped out, his entire body enveloped in a blood-red aura.
Boom! Boom!
His sheer momentum shattered several zombies in his path as he charged straight toward Lin Xian.
This was an extreme physical enhancement ability!
Meanwhile, Blonde Thug reappeared on the roof of a truck, raising his rocket launcher.
"Eat this, motherf**kers!"
In the Infinite Train’s support convoy, Xu Jin saw this and immediately shouted into the walkie-talkie:
"Rocket incoming—watch out!"
Whoosh!
A rocket streaked through the air, heading straight for the Infinite Train’s locomotive.
BOOM!
But just before impact, a pillar of flames erupted, swallowing the missile midair and detonating it prematurely!
"What the f**k?! Another ability user?!" Blonde Thug gaped.
Boom!
A camper van barreled onto the battlefield. Suddenly, from the center of the zombie horde, a blazing column of fire shot skyward!
Flames roared, burning as bright as the sun.
From the inferno, a red silhouette descended.
Lu Xingchen emerged from the flames, his upper body stripped bare by the heat, his hands wreathed in fire. He stood between Qiu Long and Lin Xian, smiling.
"Ability user?" Qiu Long’s expression darkened as he took in this new opponent.
Lu Xingchen grinned. "No—I am a god."
"A fire ability user?"
Qiu Long narrowed his eyes at the flame-wielding youth. "Who the hell are you even talking to?"
Lu Xingchen turned slightly, glancing at the charred zombie corpses around him. His brows furrowed. Sensing movement, he quickly spun back—
Qiu Long was already mid-air, fist aimed straight at his gut!
WHOOSH!
Lu Xingchen’s face changed. Reacting instantly, he threw up both hands—"Godflame Pillar!"
BOOM!
A torrent of fire erupted toward Qiu Long.
"Are you f**king naming your attacks?!" Qiu Long roared.
The raging flames engulfed him, halting his strike. His skin burned black, and the sheer agony contorted his face. But then—
His blood boiled.
Veins bulged beneath his charred skin, rapidly regenerating as his blood energy surged. His strength was only increasing.
Lin Xian, noticing the enormous fire pillar in the distance, finally understood—Lu Xingchen was a fire-type ability user.
No wonder Shu Qin had praised his strength.
A fire ability like that was the dream of countless survivors.
With an ally like him, Lin Xian felt far more confident. Without hesitation, he sprinted toward the fallen birdman.
Ratatatat!
Both sides unleashed a storm of bullets.
Qiu Long, still grinning like a maniac, relished the chaos. His eyes gleamed with excitement as he locked onto Lu Xingchen.
"I’ll handle this fire-breathing freak. Blonde Thug—go help Guo Er!"
"On it!"
Blonde Thug tossed his empty launcher aside, grabbed two AKs, and slipped from the truck.
Dashing between vehicles like a shadow, he moved with unnerving speed, expertly weaving through the battlefield.
In an instant—
Ratatata!
He gunned down two members of Xu Jin and Shu Qin’s convoy with precise shots.
Meanwhile, the Black Crow's lead truck skidded to a halt.
The purple-haired woman, Lolo, pulled out a pistol and aimed it at Zhou Lei, the former traitor now reduced to their lackey.
"Fatty," she smirked. "Shouldn’t you be doing something?"
Zhou Lei swallowed hard. "O-of course! We’re all in this together, right?"
Feigning enthusiasm, he grabbed his gun and disembarked.
Just then, he spotted someone—his former subordinate, Da Yong, rushing past.
"Da Yong!"
Da Yong shot him a glance—then completely ignored him and ran forward.
Zhou Lei clenched his teeth. "Motherf**ker, traitors like you are the worst!"
Which was ironic, considering he himself had betrayed multiple groups before.
But now, watching the battle unfold, he sensed an opportunity.
As both sides clashed violently, Zhou Lei’s eyes darted around.
Then—
He spotted something valuable.
