Chapter 39: I, Xia Ya, Dream of Becoming a Luck God

A blinding white light erupted into the sky.

The massive shockwave spread outward, knocking the spectators dozens of meters away off balance.

The blazing white light expanded rapidly in the eyes of the white-robed elder, finally making his expression shift.

Since presiding over the Branstat Family's coming-of-age ceremonies, this was the first time he had ever been so moved by a test-taker.

He even disregarded his own rule of non-intervention during the assessment, issuing a series of swift commands through his contract link.

At the center of the explosion's firelight, the majestic Silver Spirit let out a furious roar.

Ripples of light radiated from its body, and in an instant, its pure silver form became hazy.

"Elementalization."

A fundamental racial ability possessed by most Elemental-type Summoned Beasts.

Upon activation, the body enters an elemental state, losing its offensive capabilities, but at the same time, drastically reducing incoming damage.

Only a fraction of a second after executing this maneuver, another surge of white light engulfed it once more.

—Boom! Boom! Boom!—

Explosions erupted one after another.

The sheer intensity of the blasts left the entire audience momentarily speechless.

"Detonating Clay… is this that alchemical explosive material?"

"No, if it were just that, the destructive power wouldn’t be nearly this high."

The Assessment Elder's pupils contracted slightly.

His Mental Energy surged, even making those around him feel an oppressive, suffocating pressure—proof that his current emotions were far from calm.

"I’ve seen similar alchemical materials on the border, often used by the military in siege battles to demolish enemy fortifications and defenses."

"But—based on the amount used by your Summoned Beast, this shouldn't have produced such an effect..."

The Assessment Elder continuously scanned the battlefield with his Mental Energy.

After a long pause, a thought surfaced in his mind—

A realization even more shocking than the massive explosion itself.

"You didn't just detonate all the alchemical materials at once... You deliberately staggered them."

"Through precise calculations and meticulous control... you arranged the detonations in a waveform overlay, ensuring that the shockwaves converged at the center—"

"Using this method, you maximized the explosive force of your detonation array?"

"Exactly."

Xia Ya nodded calmly. "A technique that stacks shockwaves at the center to amplify the impact to its maximum potential."

"In my homeland, this might be referred to as ‘Phased Array’ technology."

"Of course, I only applied a fraction of the principle—nowhere near the level needed to nuke the moon with a phased-array nuclear detonation. That would require explosion timing precision down to the microsecond."

A yellow blur flashed, and Shiny landed lightly on Xia Ya's head.

The little Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey proudly shook its back, displaying the bold "Justice" characters written on it—only to be grabbed down by Xia Ya in an instant.

A Summoned Beast sitting on a Beastmaster's head? What, did it think the world had flipped upside down?

But Xia Ya's attention didn’t shift due to his playfulness with Shiny. His gaze remained locked on the distant Silver Spirit, a Peak Commander-Tier being.

Moments later—

The explosions subsided.

The airborne dust finally settled, revealing the battlefield.

The once-mighty Quasi-Monarch Silver Spirit was now battered and bruised.

Its once-smooth, mirror-like metallic body was now full of dents and cracks, with even a few missing pieces.

For most Beast Species, such wounds would be fatal.

However, as waves of silver-white ripples spread out, the liquid metal composing the Silver Spirit's body flowed instantly, filling in the gaps and restoring its structure.

Another fundamental racial skill of Elemental-type Summoned Beasts—"Accelerated Regeneration."

As beings composed entirely of elemental matter, injuries that would cripple ordinary Summoned Beasts were not irreparable to them.

Even so, after completely restoring its form, the Silver Spirit's presence was noticeably weakened—its previous Quasi-Monarch majesty nowhere to be found.

The Assessment Elder waved his hand, recalling the Silver Spirit into his Soul Pact Space.

Xia Ya nodded slightly.

"Using Blink and Throw to set up Detonating Clay on my opponent's body, then triggering an array explosion with Phased Array Detonation, I managed to inflict moderate injuries on a Quasi-Monarch-tier Summoned Beast."

"And that’s assuming my opponent was an Elemental Lifeform, which naturally has a higher endurance."

"If it had been an ordinary Summoned Beast, that explosion should've been enough to severely wound a Quasi-Monarch, rendering it incapable of combat."

"Considering I only used 60% of the available Detonating Clay, the results were satisfactory."

After all, this was just an experiment for a new skill set. And since the Assessment Elder bore no hostility towards him, there was no need to go all out.

Overall, Xia Ya was pleased with the outcome.

Having fully digested the gains from his Beginner Quest, both Silver and Shiny were still lacking in overall capability compared to true Monarch-tier Summoned Beasts.

But they already possessed techniques capable of threatening a Monarch.

"Elder, according to the rules you set, my assessment should count as a pass, correct?"

Xia Ya turned to the Assessment Elder, who still seemed a bit dazed.

At the same time, through this battle, Xia Ya had also gained insight into the Silver Spirit species.

Pure combat strength wasn’t its most defining trait.

The most crucial factor Xia Ya noticed was that the Silver Spirit species... possessed far greater potential than other Summoned Beast species.

Unlike most Summoned Beasts, which had rigid evolutionary paths, the Silver Spirit had an extremely diverse development potential.

For ordinary Beastmasters, this wouldn't mean much since they followed standard training regimens.

But for Xia Ya—this was perfect for maximizing his Point Allocation Ability.

"Of course."

The Assessment Elder snapped back to reality and nodded.

The Magitech Formation used for security opened a gap, just wide enough for one person to pass through.

"Even within the Silver Spirit species, different individuals exhibit distinct tendencies and personalities."

"Given your Beastmaster Talent, it would be a shame if you contracted a mediocre one from the species."

The Assessment Elder gave Xia Ya a deep look.

Rapid training speed? Contracting rare Summoned Beasts?

That could be attributed to talent or luck—some people were just born different.

And if this explosion had been a simple alchemical detonation, it wouldn't have been too surprising.

It would’ve just been a gimmick, effective for a one-time surprise attack, something he had seen many times in his long career.

But Phased Array Detonation, controlled with Xia Ya’s precision, was an entirely different story...

This meant that Xia Ya’s achievements weren’t just from luck—they came from his own ability.

On the other side, Xia Ya had no idea what the Assessment Elder was thinking.

Or rather, even if he did know, he’d just scoff at it.

If luck alone could make you stronger, who the hell would choose to struggle and defy fate?

Everyone cursed the "seal-clubbing whales" but secretly wished they were one.

Xia Ya stepped into the Magitech Formation’s gap and silently activated "Tsukuyomi."

"I’m not an unlucky bastard. I’m a Luck God."

"I am a Luck God."

His self-hypnosis took effect, making his mutterings even more firm.

"That’s right, I’m a Luck God!"

"Bless me, Gacha Gods—let my Third Soul Pact pull an SSR!"
