Chapter 2191: World of Key |
Sylas stored the Creation of Key away, and grabbed the last badge out of the air, his expression calm as he made the move.
This badge felt heavier in his palm, surging with a heavy momentum that felt like it was much larger than its presence alone. It almost felt like it had an encasement of energy around it that formed a sphere of influence so enormous it swallowed light years of space, and yet it had contained that energy so well that it rested in Sylas' palm without the slightest hint or attempt of fighting back.
It was… magical.
'Fascinating…'
Sylas turned it over, his curiosity stoked. It was like he didn't even want to use his scouting skill if he didn't have to. It was like the badge was trying to speak to him in some unique way he wasn't quite grasping right now.
'Such a strong presence…'
Sylas had felt this before. In fact, the first time he felt it was not too long ago when he ran into his very first S-tier.
He had always known that the strength of S-tiers were beyond his ability to grasp completely, but something about meeting Supreme Commander Ros had left him wanting to chase all the more.
He was sure that he would reach that level one day, but he also didn't just want to reach it… He wanted to crush and surpass it.
Sylas understood what was in his hands now.
—
[World of Key (???) (Legendary)]
[The division between Demon and Real isn't one that most understand. Even the strongest existences of the universe can only look at these dividing lines as enemy ranks, territory markers for allies and those that must be defeated at all cost.
[The Madness System once made an attempt to blur these lines, to gather the people against their common enemy, to show them that living a way of life without hope and love and acceptance would never be the right way…] —
Sylas' eyes narrowed when he read this. The Madness System? Love? Acceptance?
Since when.
What was he missing here, exactly?
—
[… The marker of a God cares little for this division. That is what it means to be one, to sit atop the world and have a strong enough understanding to pass judgment and leave the universe toward prosperity. You, however, can begin this journey early.
[Good luck, young chosen]
—
Sylas read the description again despite his immaculate memory. It almost felt like he wasn't understanding what this thing was saying at all.
What was it supposed to be? A gate to the Demon World? A method of combining Demon and Real? Was it going to help him enter the Demon World or was it going to help him build a completely different body?
And since when was the Madness System designed for peace and love? If he was a different sort of person, he might have very well laughed out loud.
It was ridiculous.
Almost like it was… intentionally wrong.
'Intentionally wrong?'
Sylas' gaze flickered and his approach changed. From using his scouting skill on the badge alone, he poured into it, expanding its range.
The feeling was similar to bringing a particularly large object into his Madness Key. Everyone knew that in order to bring items in and out of a spatial device, you needed to be able to wrap your Will around it completely.
This hadn't been a limiting factor for Sylas in a very long time, but it was a reality that many others faced everyday. He hadn't thought that today would be the day he faced something like this instead.
The presence of the badge went so far beyond what was in his hands right now, and Sylas felt that there was a very good reason for that.
The badge was hiding something… this World of Key…
It had a secret.
And he wanted to see what that secret was.
Sylas roared.
His True Infinite Will was on a wholly different level than his False Infinite Will had been. All he had done was spend a few minutes standing around, observing his Evolutionary Energy and then experiencing his rewards, but he already felt like he had already regained a substantial amount of his Will… Just enough that he could fill the presence of the badge to the brim and see what it wished out of him.
—
[World of Key (???) (Legendary)]
[A clever little shit, indeed. As expected of someone who cares little for the rules of others and dictates things by their own whims and cadences. It is little wonder the dividing lines between worlds means little to you.
[Use this device to manipulate worlds as you please. Go on and fuck shit up, it's not like you care, anyway.] —
Sylas' gaze flickered. He had never read a description like that one before. It was almost like the treasure was talking to him specifically. Would the description be the same if it had been given to someone else?
Sylas was pretty sure the answer to that question was no.
There was feedback on his Will right now. The treasure was pushing back against him, not in a violent way, but almost as though to see what made him tick.
But this description…
'Manipulate worlds as you please…'
The implications of something like that… was jarring.
This device was too vague with what it meant.
Did it mean that with it on his person, he could command a world like he was its Progenitor? Did it mean that he could evolve his own world?
Or since it had mentioned the Demon World… did it mean that he could combine the World Spirit of a Real World and a Demon World?
It wasn't being clear at all.
If the first description was purposely wrong, then this one was almost… purposely vague.
However, what shook Sylas was the fact that he was pretty sure the reason the first description was wrong was to stop those who would overestimate themselves.
The reason the second description was vague was because…
It could do all those things.
