Chapter 263: Blood-stained scissors, severed fingers!

"The skills can't be triggered. Could it be that the rules of the game in this carriage have even disabled the system's abilities?"

Qin Nuo was a bit stunned.

Without the Eye of Analysis, he felt a headache coming on.

He looked up at the players rummaging through the passengers' bodies. The sight of the corpses was so gruesome that they couldn't bear to look directly, frowning the entire time.

Although they weren't newcomers, they weren't forensic experts either. Facing these horrifying corpses was still a heavy psychological burden for them.

However, Qin Nuo didn't have such feelings. He seemed to have a unique immunity to these things, viewing them with indifference and without any emotional disturbance.

Is this the kind of mindset a normal person should have?

This wasn't the first time Qin Nuo wondered if he might be a psychopath.

Watching the time, Qin Nuo hesitated, picked up a small pair of tweezers from the table, and half-squatted in front of the man, reaching out to probe the wound.

More blood flowed out, staining some of his clothes red.

Qin Nuo didn't mind, using the tweezers to probe into the bloody hole, and after some effort, extracted a bullet.

"The diameter suggests it's a bullet from a submachine gun or a handgun."

Qin Nuo liked playing CF and had once impulsively searched online for guns commonly used in games. Now, looking at the bullet, he analyzed it with some semblance of expertise, though he wasn't sure if he was right.

He wanted to gather more clues, so he rummaged through the man's clothes and found other wounds, touching them with his fingers.

The gruesome wounds didn't affect Qin Nuo's inner peace.

He maintained a calm demeanor throughout.

"If there weren't any horror games, I might have made a good mortician or forensic pathologist."

Qin Nuo thought to himself, extracting bullets from the bloody holes with the tweezers. The bullets all had the same pattern.

Looking at these bullets, Qin Nuo fell silent.

"It's actually not that complicated," the Blood-Eyed Ghost suddenly spoke.

The voice startled Qin Nuo: "You're still here? I thought the rules of the game in this carriage had even restricted you."

After all, ghost creatures were restricted, so Qin Nuo didn't expect the contracted ghost to remain unrestricted.

"So, you don't need to be like those fools, rummaging through these corpses. Tonight, when those things appear, I'll help you deal with one, and won't you clear the level smoothly?" the Blood-Eyed Ghost said nonchalantly.

Qin Nuo seemed not to hear, putting the bullets he had extracted with the tweezers into his pocket and continuing to explore the corpse's clothing.

"Are your ears not working? I'm talking to you!"

Qin Nuo responded calmly, "I can hear you."

"And then?"

Qin Nuo couldn't help but chuckle, "Blood Bro, sometimes you really need to upgrade your thinking, or I'm afraid I'll end up as dumb as you one day."

"If the contracted ghost could kill those shadows, why did so many players die in the first batch? Why did they all painstakingly search for items to restrain the shadows?"

"There can't be only one Half-Ghost in this instance, right?"

The Blood-Eyed Ghost felt insulted and tried to save face, continuing, "How can those ghosts compare to me?"

"You're right. Then tonight, I'll count on Blood Bro to show your might. My life is in your hands."

Qin Nuo naturally hoped things would go as the Blood-Eyed Ghost said.

If the items in his hands couldn't restrain those shadows, he'd really have to rely on the Blood-Eyed Ghost.

Reaching under the suit, Qin Nuo raised an eyebrow and pulled out a pair of scissors.

Blood-stained scissors.

Qin Nuo hesitated, then suddenly started unbuttoning the man's clothes, intending to remove them. He considered undoing the belt but hesitated and dismissed the idea.

The Blood-Eyed Ghost watched and asked, "Are you a pervert?"

Qin Nuo ignored it. At this moment, the man's upper body was exposed, the blood from the bullet wounds staining half of his body red.

His gaze moved carefully over the body, his expression more puzzled, and he dressed the man again, saying, "No offense intended."

After speaking, he pocketed the scissors.

Then, using the same method, Qin Nuo went to examine other corpses.

The other players weren't idle either, their hands stained with blood, the pungent smell making it hard to bear.

The wounds seemed fresh, continuously oozing blood.

On the corpses' clothes, most players found something they thought useful and pocketed it, relying on intuition without logic.

Feather was also examining a corpse, a woman with fair skin, a delicate face, and a star-like aura, her outfit accentuating her figure.

But he remained cold-faced throughout, pinching the woman's face back into place. A fruit knife was lodged in her neck, the gushing blood staining her entire T-shirt red.

The wound was off to the side, not damaging the trachea, leading to death from excessive bleeding.

Feather blinked, pulled out the knife, wiped it, and pocketed it.

The woman's pre-death terror and the chipped nail polish on several fingers seemed to tell him something.

Feather's face was icy as he looked at the woman for a moment before leaving his seat.

All the players were busy, except for Liusu, who sat there.

He had somehow found a PS game console from a passenger and was leisurely playing it.

He seemed unbothered by the time ticking away on the wall.

Many players noticed, and in the silence, they squinted slightly, realizing something.

Time continued to pass, and it gradually darkened outside the train.

When the retro clock on the wall struck seven, the lights on the ceiling turned on simultaneously.

The dim yellow light illuminated the carriage.

Some players, exhausted, simply sat down and began eating and drinking again.

Liusu yawned and discarded the game console in his hand.

"In an hour, the lights will go out. Good luck to everyone."

He lay down, intending to crawl back under the table to sleep. There was a hidden compartment just big enough to accommodate him comfortably.

But a hand stopped him; it was Mountain, holding a military knife, likely scavenged from a passenger.

"What's up, bro?" Liusu looked at him.

Mountain sat down, stabbed the knife into the table, piercing through a finger-thick wooden board effortlessly, the cold gleam reflecting on Liusu's face.

"Do you think this knife can restrain those shadows, or even kill them?" Mountain asked with a smile.

Liusu glanced at the knife and said, "How would I know? If you think it can, then hold onto it tightly tonight."

"After the lights go out, this will be your life-saving talisman!"

Mountain interlocked his fingers and asked, "You don't seem worried at all?"

"I've survived so many nights; I must have my own tactics and know how to avoid those shadows' hunts."

Liusu replied with a faint smile.

"Let me guess, you're not worried because you supposedly have experience, and you must have an item on you that can resist those shadows, right?"

Mountain asked with a sly smile, his eyes revealing his inner thoughts.

The surrounding players noticed, some secretly annoyed.

They shared Mountain's thoughts, also intending to target Liusu, but didn't expect Mountain to beat them to it.

The items they currently held might not be effective against those shadows.

But whatever Liusu had on him must be able to restrain the shadows!

"That's up to you to think. I can't just say it outright, can I?"

"Bro, if there's nothing else, I'm going to sleep. I'm really tired."

Liusu seemed unaware of the changing atmosphere, waved his hand, and was about to crawl back under the table, but Mountain blocked his path with a foot.

"Are you really stupid or just pretending?"

"Hand over the item you have, and then you can crawl back into your little hole to sleep."

Liusu said helplessly, "Bro, that's not how this game is played. You have to find it yourself; robbing others won't work."

Mountain squinted and asked, "Is there a rule in this carriage prohibiting violence or robbing others?"

"No, there isn't."

"Then there you go. Now, I'm the rule!"

"You better hurry up and find something; stop targeting me."

Liusu leaned down, trying to push away the foot.

Mountain's face twitched slightly, and in the next second, he suddenly pulled out the knife from the table and stabbed it fiercely at the back of Liusu's neck.

In a flash, Liusu suddenly sidestepped, and as Mountain missed his target and hadn't retracted his hand, Liusu's right hand produced a butterfly knife, which spun, flashing coldly, and stabbed into the base of Mountain's neck.

The entire process happened in just two seconds!

Liusu moved so fast that some players didn't even react.

Mountain blinked, his gaze shifting downward, seeing the blood gushing out.

"Bro, why didn't you listen to advice? Insisting on finding a shortcut to end the game."

After speaking, without waiting for Mountain to respond, the butterfly knife in his neck suddenly sliced horizontally, tearing open the throat. As blood sprayed, Liusu retracted the butterfly knife and pocketed it.

Mountain clutched his throat, opened his mouth, and fell straight to the ground.

"Tsk, bad luck, got blood all over my face."

Liusu pulled out a tissue and wiped the blood off his face.

Then, while wiping his hands, he looked at the other players and asked, "Is there anyone else who wants to disturb my sleep?"

"Seems like no one. Good night, everyone."

With that, Liusu crawled back under the table.

The players' expressions changed, watching Mountain lying in a pool of blood on the floor, his body twitching slightly. They thought to themselves, Damn, this is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

In reality, with a little more thought, it was obvious that someone like Liusu, who had survived until now, couldn't be a pushover.

Feather watched with a cold smile on his lips.

Qin Nuo also observed, and the Blood-Eyed Ghost on his right hand expressed disdain, "Want me to snatch it from that kid?"

"Forget it."

"No need. This Liusu seems like quite a character. Maybe he really doesn't have an item to restrain the shadows and survived using other means."

Qin Nuo shook his head.

"Are you looking down on me?" the Blood-Eyed Ghost asked.

"How could I? My Blood Bro is invincible!" Qin Nuo immediately flattered.

The underlying meaning left the Blood-Eyed Ghost unsure how to respond, so it simply fell silent.

Outside, the sky had completely darkened.

The clock on the wall showed half an hour had passed.

Qin Nuo stopped his activities, sat by a window, and picked up a pack of dried beef from the table, starting to eat.

The other players did the same, their hands covered in blood, wiping them with napkins before beginning to eat and drink.

Some players wore necklaces full of valuable trinkets, others donned the clothes of the corpses, and some weirdos even pocketed some of the corpses' undergarments, resembling perverts.

A figure appeared behind Qin Nuo. While chewing on the beef jerky, Qin Nuo looked up at the person in front of him.

It was Feather.

He looked at Qin Nuo with a cold expression, his purple hair resembling a scene kid.

Qin Nuo looked at him calmly, "What do you want? Trying to steal my beef jerky?"

Feather said nothing, reached out, grabbed a bag of chips next to Qin Nuo, and turned to leave.

On his seat was a pile of empty chip bags.

Qin Nuo was speechless, thinking to himself, Is this what a chip lover looks like, eating them as a meal?

After finishing the beef jerky, Qin Nuo poured himself a glass of milk and drank it in one go.

At this moment, the clock's minute hand reached the number 10.

A speaker above the carriage door frame played a piece of instrumental music.

When the music ended, a female voice announced, "Dear guests, the lights will go out in ten minutes. To ensure your rest, please enter a sleep state after the lights go out to ensure sleep quality."

"Sleep? Damn it, we have to be able to sleep first!" a player mocked coldly.

They gripped their items tightly, watching the ticking second hand, their nerves taut.

Across from them, Liusu climbed out again, took a pair of headphones from the table, and put them on.

"When the lights go out, life and death are up to fate."

Qin Nuo watched him mutter to himself, then raised an eyebrow.

Because he saw Liusu, as he crawled back under the table, take out a severed finger from his pocket and put it in his mouth.

The severed finger's end still had blood on it.

"Is that the item to restrain the shadows? Putting it directly in his mouth, what a tough guy, with such a heavy taste!"

Qin Nuo couldn't help but mutter.

In the last few minutes, Qin Nuo tried to sit in a corner, using the passengers' corpses as a shield.

Behind him, the players also began to move their positions.

Most players, like Liusu, crawled under the tables.

But this seemed unwise to Qin Nuo. Once the lights went out, nothing would be visible, and hiding under a table would restrict movement, seemingly a trap for oneself.

"Blood Bro, the lights are about to go out."

Blood-Eyed Ghost: "Stay calm. I want to see how powerful those shadowy things really are."

Though the Blood-Eyed Ghost's presence provided some peace of mind, Qin Nuo also had his own plans, just in case.

The second hand ticked, and soon, the clock on the wall chimed.

Nine long chimes echoed through the carriage.

When the ninth chime stopped, all the lights in the carriage went out instantly.

The cold, unknown darkness engulfed the entire carriage.

In the pitch-black, Qin Nuo's bright eyes remained open.

His hand in his pocket instinctively gripped the blood-stained scissors...
