Chapter 241: Liao Shen accompanies, Horror bus! |
"Inhuman Place..."
Qin Nuo thought to himself, isn't the entire Horror World an inhuman place? But he could tell that Liao Shen was trying to convey that the place was extremely dangerous. If he really intended to go, he needed to be fully prepared.
"You've been there. Tell me, what was it like?" Qin Nuo asked with a light smile.
"I went there once for some business. At that time, I had a few friends with me. In the end, I was the only one who came back." Liao Shen's voice was magnetic and calm, yet it carried a clear sense of dread. Evidently, that journey had left an indelible shadow on him.
"Did you encounter robbers?" Yuan Shan asked softly.
Liao Shen shook his head. "Our business went smoothly. It was just that we accidentally offended a passing ghost, and all my friends were swallowed right in front of me. I escaped because its friend called it away."
"That place has no laws. Compared to here, not only humans but even weak ghosts are like rats crossing the street, truly a world of the strong devouring the weak..."
"I've seen too many desperate things in that region. Unless it's necessary, I still hope not to set foot there." Liao Shen spoke earnestly.
Having finally met a good boss, he didn't want to lose him so soon.
According to Liao Shen, the Horror World indeed had too many unknown territories beyond his imagination.
He wanted to accomplish certain things, and these unknown territories were places he had to venture into.
Liao Shen didn't say much more and wrote down a name on a piece of paper.
"Yuan City, Blood Diamond Restaurant."
"The ingredient the boss needs is available at this restaurant," Liao Shen pushed the note in front of Qin Nuo.
"Thanks."
Qin Nuo put away the note.
"It's my duty." Liao Shen nodded, picked up a cup of tea, and took a sip.
The masked ghost seized the opportunity to speak, "If the boss has no other business later, you can visit the branch across the street and see if there's anything that needs improvement. I'll follow up on it."
"With you all managing it, what do I have to worry about?" Qin Nuo smiled calmly.
"Now I need to go somewhere. Liao Shen, come with me."
"I don't know where this place is. If you have no other business, guide me there."
Saying this, Qin Nuo mentioned the address of Sunshine Kindergarten.
"Nanding Road, I've been there once." Liao Shen nodded.
The masked ghost, seeing this, wanted to say, "I know it too, and I'm quite free..."
"Why is the boss going there?" Yuan Shan also glanced over.
"This is my second business. Let's go and take a look," Qin Nuo said as he stood up.
Hearing this, everyone was taken aback, their expressions showing disbelief.
Qin Nuo found it amusing, "You all seem surprised?"
"It's just unexpected. Why would the boss acquire a kindergarten?" the masked ghost asked.
These two businesses were completely unrelated and had no overlapping interests.
"It was a gift. No reason to refuse it. Liao Shen, lead the way!"
Qin Nuo asked Yuan Shan to bring him a trench coat. He pushed open the shop door, nodded to the masked ghost, and followed Liao Shen out.
A few minutes later.
Qin Nuo and Liao Shen appeared at the bus stop for Route 404.
Looking at the deserted road, Qin Nuo wondered if buses were the only mode of transportation in the Horror World. What about subways, trains, or even private cars?
He thought about asking Liao Shen to ease the atmosphere and pass the time.
Just as he was about to speak, Liao Shen looked to the side, "Boss, the bus is here."
With that, the bus slowly approached.
Liao Shen boarded the bus with a briefcase, and Qin Nuo followed behind. But as soon as he got on, his eyebrows twitched.
This bus was much more horrifying. The exterior was tattered, the front was dented, and it emitted black smoke. Inside, it was drenched in blood, and the shattered windows were covered with blood-red claw marks.
The passengers sat quietly, their bodies bearing various gruesome and fatal injuries. Women and children held babies, with blood seeping through their cotton-padded jackets.
"It wasn't a car accident; it was more like a massacre," Qin Nuo thought. Many passengers had bloody necks, their bodies riddled with bullet holes, some even shot to pieces.
It was hard to imagine what the passengers on this bus had gone through!
Although Qin Nuo was accustomed to bloody and even nauseating scenes, what lay before him was still quite jarring.
Besides the smell of blood, the bus was filled with a thick aura of resentment.
When Qin Nuo boarded, all the passengers' eyes instantly turned to him, staring intently.
The driver, too, was riddled with bullet holes, his stomach blown open. His pale and blood-red face slowly turned, his already vacant pupils fixing on Qin Nuo.
The human aura emanating from Qin Nuo was completely out of place in the atmosphere of the bus.
"All the passengers on this bus are vengeful ghosts. They must have been slaughtered by some thugs when they were alive."
"The scent of a living person like me is too stimulating for them."
Qin Nuo wanted to get off the bus. Not to mention anything else, the overwhelming smell of blood was unbearable.
This bus was not one to ride!
"You'd better think carefully. This is my man, and it's best to put away any thoughts you have."
"Otherwise, we don't mind taking the next bus."
Liao Shen spoke, his amiable appearance hiding a chilling aura. The slits of his eyes concealed a dangerous gleam.
The passengers, sensing the danger, stiffly withdrew their gazes.
Liao Shen looked at the driver, "You should start the bus. We're in a bit of a hurry."
The bus slowly moved, panting and jerking even on flat roads.
Liao Shen found an empty seat and looked at Qin Nuo, "Boss, it's unstable standing. Sit here."
Qin Nuo, who had been thinking of getting off, didn't expect Liao Shen to be so efficient. He paused for a moment, then walked over to sit down. Liao Shen stood nearby with a black leather case, like a personal bodyguard.
This made Qin Nuo think that bringing Liao Shen along was indeed the right decision.
"You can take a nap. I'll wake you when we arrive," Liao Shen said, glancing at a nearby passenger, whose head, half blown off, slowly drooped.
"Not really sleepy," Qin Nuo replied. In such an environment, no matter how tired he was, it was hard to fall asleep.
Liao Shen's presence was formidable. With him standing nearby, the passengers' malicious resentment dared not fall on Qin Nuo.
Qin Nuo had always been unsure of Liao Shen's true strength, but he guessed it was likely stronger than the masked ghost.
This elder, nearing sixty, had deep-set eyes, having experienced much and handling everything meticulously.
He seemed to harbor great ambition, which hadn't diminished despite the passage of time.
He was adept at concealing this ambitious heart, but Qin Nuo, with his keen senses, had noticed it early on.
In Qin Nuo's view, it was normal for Liao Shen to have ambition, but it was best if that ambition wasn't directed at him...
