Chapter 3648: Bladedance’s Information |
Once Alex and Ronron returned, Ronron left for a while to deal with everything she had to deal with before she could be free to enter his Soul Space.
During that time, Bladedance visited Alex once again. Part of the reason for her visit was to test him on how his training had been going. She wanted to check his progress on Falling Rain Blossom and Sword Heart Breaker.
While Alex hadn’t had the time to train them as much as he would’ve wanted to, his progress had still been good enough for Bladedance to be happy with it.
Another reason for her arrival was to deliver a piece of news that had come during the 50 years he had remained in his closed cultivation.
"Do you know who Windveil is?" she asked.
"Windveil?" Alex narrowed his eyes. He remembered that name from somewhere before. After a brief moment, it came back to him. "Isn’t he a Reverend here? He was the one that was sent to the Eternal Isles, wasn’t he?"
Bladedance nodded. "He’s the one Newheaven sent to check on the situation of the dead soldiers. He returned some time ago, and the news he brought back isn’t that helpful."
Alex narrowed his eyes. "What news is that?"
Bladedance let out a sigh. "He failed to find out how they had died," she said. "According to the soldiers in the Eternal Isles, those few had been on break and had left for some expedition of some sort and never returned. They say those people might have died to some of the beasts in the ocean there, but it feels way too coincidental to be the truth."
Bladedance agreed, but she too didn’t have any idea on just what was happening. "Newheaven for now believes they must have found a way to break out of the oaths they were meant to have formed. That can be the only way."
"I suppose," Alex said. He didn’t know what other possibilities there could be.
"Besides that, I have some other information as well," she said.
Alex swung his sword that was over three times as long, thanks to Sword Heart Breaker, attacking a would-be enemy before him. He stopped and turned around.
"What information, master?" he asked.
"I’ve gathered information about Somberskull," she said. "We should be able to head out for it soon. If that works for you."
Alex raised his eyebrows. "Right. We had to go meet him at some point," he said, scratching his chin as he fell into thought. "I have to help Ronron first to let her start cultivating. Then, I have to help Her Majesty’s people with their Spirit roots when I can. Perhaps I can do that upon returning too, since it shouldn’t take us too long."
"I can speak to Newheaven on your behalf," Bladedance said. "Just find out when your daughter is finished with her stuff, then we can leave."
Alex nodded. "I shall do that."
Bladedance left, and Alex quickly reached out to Ronron to figure out her schedule. Once he got his answer from Ronron, he let Bladedance know as well. He would be free to leave 5 days from then.
4 days later, Ronron returned to her home and found Alex, finally ready to enter. Since he now knew just how much smaller her Soul Space was compared to his own, Alex had no reason to fear anything that could happen with taking her in.
Without any further ado, Alex took her into his Soul Space, gaining a feeling of bloatedness all of a sudden, but nothing more. By taking Ronron into his Soul Space, what happened was that her Soul Space took over the ’true space’ inside of his Soul Space, leaving not much space for his own Soul Space to hold.
As a result, a massive volume of space was suddenly gone from Alex’s control. Massive though it was, it wasn’t enough for Alex to worry at all.
Ronron arrived inside of the Soul Space, finding herself in a place with soil underneath her, plants growing to the side, and warm sunlight shining on her face. She could not believe the fact that she was inside someone’s Soul Space just then.
"This is so different, father," Ronron said, her eyes staring all around her in a wide glare. "My master’s Soul Space is nothing like this."
"Does her Soul Space hold any land?" Alex asked.
"She does, but it’s a barren land, mostly used as a place to hold her treasuries. There’s no life there at all. No sun," she said, looking toward the source of the light. Although, a thick fog covered the area far away, so she couldn’t see the sun at all.
"There’s Qi here too. My master’s Soul Space doesn’t have that."
Ronron slowly began to realize that everything she had heard about Alex’s Soul Space until then had actually been an understatement. Words could not possibly describe what she was seeing and feeling in that moment.
Whisker appeared out of the fog, quickly running up to where Ronron was.
"Uncle Whisker!" she said with a smile.
"Ronron, here."
Whisker handed her a small metal plate.
Ronron took the plate. "What is—"
Her words died in her throat as the world before her that had been covered in fog until now suddenly came to life as the fog was lifted, allowing her to see not just the mountains, but the playground and the two trees.
On one side, the Nine Yang Divine Tree glowed bright like the sun itself, giving out light and warmth for everyone to see.
And on the other side, the fabled tree of the demons rose high into the sky, with wide branches that seemed to reach for the Yang tree’s light.
"Come," Whisker said, bringing her out of her awe. "I’ll show you around this place."
