Chapter 64: Perfect-Quality Item

Thanks to the Berserk buff granted by his title, Bai Mu now possessed three active skills, each with its own unique utility. In his inventory sat the "Potted Cherry Bomb." The Plant Care skill he had once despised had now become a divine ability.

After this experiment, Bai Mu realized that there might not be any truly useless items or equipment in Paradise. If something seemed useless, it was highly likely that the right combination and synergy simply had not been found yet.

"I still have two Roulette Draws left. I might as well use them together," he murmured.

[Would you like to spin the roulette?]

[Yes / No]

"Yes."

The roulette wheel, boasting dozens of options, began to spin. Bai Mu had worn the Anti-Zombie Marine Corps Medal of Honor at all times during the Script. As a brooch-type Accessory, it could be equipped alongside body armor, meaning he still retained the chance to choose between two rewards during this Script settlement.

[Congratulations, you have obtained the prize "Baseball Bat" from the Roulette Draw.]

It seemed his previous streak of terrible luck had finally broken; his very first draw yielded a rather decent melee weapon.

[Name: Baseball Bat]

[Type: Melee Weapon]

[Quality: Common]

[Lethality: Medium]

[Attributes: None]

[Equipment Effect: Each attack has a chance to stun the enemy. Hitting the enemy's head with a home-run swing guarantees a 100% critical hit.]

[Equip Requirement: None]

[Note: The Prince of Baseball once took the entire country by storm, driving every young boy crazy. This baseball bat is limited-edition merchandise for the Prince of Baseball, printed with his classic catchphrase: "You've got a long way to go."]

[The aura of the Anti-Zombie Marine Corps envelops you.]

[Would you like to draw the second option reward?]

[Yes / No]

"Yes," Bai Mu replied, opting for another spin. Since he had the right to pick one of two, it would be a waste not to use it.

[Congratulations, you have obtained the prize "Painkillers" from the Roulette Draw.]

Comparing the Painkillers to the Baseball Bat, the bat was definitely the better choice. It was worth at least 300 Points, and he was currently lacking a melee weapon anyway.

[You have obtained the prize "Baseball Bat". Please check your inventory.]

After accepting the Baseball Bat, Bai Mu immediately initiated his next draw.

[Congratulations, you have obtained the prize "White Sneakers" from the Roulette Draw.]

It was a Common-quality pair of sneakers with very low defense. Bizarrely, its special effect was to increase shooting accuracy in soccer. Bai Mu felt that with his skill level, he had absolutely no need for such an accuracy boost. He immediately used the Medal of Honor's special effect. If the second draw turned out worse, he could always fall back on this one.

The roulette wheel spun rapidly before gradually slowing down. Bai Mu stared intently at the pointer. His heart tightened as he watched it nearly stop on a "Nearly Expired Sausage and Bacon Pizza."

'Please, give me a break, man!' Bai Mu prayed silently.

He was a mere millimeter away from drawing a slice of pizza, but the roulette wheel finally showed him some mercy. Or perhaps his continuous streak of bad luck had served as a stepping stone. This time, the pointer actually glided past the pizza and landed on a golden segment marked with a "?".

It was a golden segment that took up a minuscule fraction of the roulette wheel. A brilliant light flared from the notification panel.

[Congratulations, you have obtained the prize "Defibrillator" from the Roulette Draw.]

[Name: Defibrillator]

[Type: Consumable Item]

[Quality: Perfect]

[Special Effect: Revives a character who has died within one minute, clears all negative status effects, and restores 20% of their Health.]

[Note: You now have a second life.]

The simple sentence describing its effect left Bai Mu stunned for a moment.

"Did my luck really just turn around?" he whispered.

He had actually drawn a Perfect-quality item—a resurrection tool.

The value of this item was absolutely terrifying. If it were to appear in the shop, all the Points Bai Mu had earned in the Scripts wouldn't even come close to affording it.

He could easily imagine the price it would fetch on the Player Trading Market. Whether it was listed for 5,000 Points or 10,000 Points, someone would definitely bid for it.

Although the description implied it couldn't be used automatically upon a player's death, players had access to a wide variety of methods within the Scripts. As long as someone obtained a summoning skill and had their summon hold the Defibrillator to use on them after death, it was practically equivalent to having two lives.

And now, Bai Mu had obtained it completely free of charge through the Roulette Draw.

"No wonder Roulette Draw attempts are so hard to come by. You really can pull absolutely anything from this thing..." Bai Mu let out a long breath.

Deeply satisfied with the results of this draw, he stowed the Defibrillator away. Now, there was only one thing left to claim: the optional equipment from the Hidden Ending.

He had already decided what to choose. He was still missing a suitable piece of body armor. On the claim interface, he directly selected the body armor category and hit confirm.

A white light flared on the panel, and an article of clothing slowly materialized within it. Ultimately, it took the form of a black trench coat.

[Name: Dance of Elvis]

[Type: Body Armor]

[Quality: Rare]

[Defense: Low]

[Attributes: None]

[Equipment Effect: Elevates bodily flexibility to the level of a top-tier dancer. When you dance, your Agility attribute temporarily increases based on the duration of the dance. Grants 1 point of Agility per minute, up to a maximum of 15 points. The effect vanishes once the dancing stops.]

[Equip Requirement: None]

[Note: This is the outfit Elvis threw to the audience after a concert. It was carefully stored in a secret location and remains spotless to this day.]

"The defense might be a bit low, but the special effect is pretty good," Bai Mu murmured. "Fifteen points of Agility is a substantial amount. Even with the prerequisite, it's more than enough."

"When I don't need it anymore, I can always sell it for Points on the market."

Bai Mu immediately equipped the Dance of Elvis. The trench coat automatically adjusted its size, tailoring itself perfectly to his frame.

He stood before the mirror and admired the fit. As expected of a superstar's performance outfit, it was undeniably stylish. The black trench coat made him look like a cold, calculating secret agent or assassin.

Taking a moment to organize his newly acquired items and equipment, Bai Mu pulled out Lucy's Greeting Card. He had already checked the Script overview; it was an E-grade Script, not a D-grade one, so the danger level shouldn't be too high.

"Would you like to use the special item: [Lucy's Greeting Card]?"

"Yes."

[Player use of a special item detected. Commencing teleportation.]

[You are currently entering: Single Player Mode (Adventure).]

[Script Name: Lucy's Wish]

[Current Script Danger Rating: E-grade.]

[The Script overview will now begin playing.]

Bai Mu focused all his attention on the Script introduction. The setting that appeared before him was a children's amusement park.

It was a bright, cheerful amusement park. Sunlight streamed in through the windows, relaxing music played in the background, and the joyous laughter of children filled the air.
