In the pitch-black liminal space, dotted only by specks of starlight.

The three of them each received their respective rewards.

They looked at the three Magic Cards and items in their hands.

The unbound, masterless items were still in their sealed state, making it easy to discern their effects through appraisal magic.

The Orange Epic card in Lanci's hand, shimmering with an icy mist and wreathed in a glazed radiance, was clearly extraordinary.

At the center of the card, a mysterious necklace materialized faintly. Its chain was forged from nimble, ethereal silver light, while the pendant was a teardrop-shaped glazed stone that sparkled with different colors under the light. Beneath the pendant, a line of tiny ancient script was carved, its meaning undecipherable to any. Yet, the glazed teardrop emanated a warm glow, like a luminous pearl that illuminated darkness and dispelled death.

    "Indestructible Glazed Tear"

    "Category: Equipment Card"

    "Grade: Orange Epic"
    "Attribute: Enhancement/Regeneration"

    "Tier: 4"

"Effect: When this necklace is worn, the more positive and negative status effects the wearer has, the greater the damage reduction and overall attribute enhancement received. When suffering fatal damage, it grants immunity and restores the wearer to full health. Cooldown: 30 days. Cannot stack with other cards that provide damage reduction or fatal damage immunity."

"Remark: In the dead of the fifth night, everyone had perished. The Son of the Sun could no longer await the arrival of another dawn. The wolf offered him its heart, and the witch gave him her blood. Gazing upon the Son of the Sun, returned from hell, this time, it was Viscount Augustin who felt fear."

"With this equipment, Lanci, you'll become a mage-tank; mages of the same Tier won't even be able to scratch you," Hyperion Aransal murmured in surprise.

She couldn't imagine how incredibly tough a front-line tank Lanci would become.

One could always rely on Lanci's aggro-drawing stability.

Conveniently, Lanci was also missing a Magic Card that granted immunity to fatal damage.

Magic Cards with fatal damage immunity effects were exceedingly rare, generally starting at Pink Holy grade and never stackable.

Hyperion Aransal's own such card was a past masterpiece left by her father, Duke Migaiya.

As she mused, she glanced at the Magic Card in her own hand.

    "Warm Companionship of the Witch"

    "Category: Equipment Card"

    "Grade: Pink Holy"

    "Attribute: Countermeasure"

    "Tier: 5"

"Effect: When this earring is worn, a one-time magic shield capable of blocking a Tier 8 attack can be triggered upon receiving life-threatening damage. Cooldown: 24 hours."

"Remark: The witch has vanished, transforming into an eternally warm companionship. The Son of the Sun now carries another epitaph, yet he will continue his solitary journey until humanity once again beholds the light."

Hyperion Aransal held up the Magic Card, and under the starlight, the shape of the equipment became even clearer. Compared to Lanci's necklace, hers was a delicate earring crafted from starlight-like silver metal. The pendant part was also a teardrop-shaped gem, its subtle curves and luster giving off a warm sensation, as if it held the silent prayers of an ancient witch from every passing day.

In short, it was an excellent, all-purpose card that anyone could use.

Although Pink Holy cards were difficult to unbind once soul-bound, spending five card slots to obtain such a life-saving piece of equipment was absolutely worth it.

Unlike Hyperion Aransal and Lanci, whose rewards were both Magic Cards, Frey alone received a material.

It was a stone meticulously sculpted by time and magic, its surface covered in a peculiar silver-gray texture. Yet, it was actually a heart, and under specific light, one could even glimpse the flowing radiance within, a miraculous magical energy flickering.

Just touching it made one feel a strong life force pulsating, imbued with the pride and will of an absolute strong man.

"Heart of the Wolf King's Pride"

    "Category: Magic Item"

    "Grade: Orange Epic"

    "Attribute: Regeneration/Seal"

    "Tier: 1"

"Effect: The heart of the last wolf prince, usable as a top-tier regeneration or seal-attribute material."

"Remark: The werewolves still had a glimmer of hope. The Son of the Sun sealed him, hiding him beneath a cliff. Stripped of his heart, he possessed virtually none of his wolf kin's strength, yet perhaps, under the moonlight, he might awaken again centuries later."

Frey could only look helplessly at Lanci.

Although this material was no worse than any finished Epic Magic Card, it couldn't be used directly.

A Card Creator capable of utilizing this material would need to be at least Platinum-rank.

The only Card Creator he knew and trusted was Lanci.

As the Shadow World's information update concluded, a series of Shadow World missions appeared, just like after their previous challenge—

"Series Shadow World – Blood Moon Cataclysm, historical coordinates anchored. Current completion: 2/4."

"Before ending the Series Shadow World, current challengers have a higher probability of entering the 'Blood Moon Cataclysm's' third node."

"Mission Objective: Clear the final node with an SSS-rank rating."

Though they didn't know what the reward for completing this final series mission would be, it was undoubtedly no less than Epic-grade.

"Speaking of which, do the remarks on these three rewards tell the story of the original history corresponding to this Shadow World?" Frey glanced again at the Magic Cards and magic item in their hands. It seemed the card art and remarks together formed a complete story.

"It truly is a tragedy," Hyperion Aransal sighed.

If they hadn't caught the traitor on the very first day like they did, it would have been a five-day, five-night nightmare. Given the traitor's strength and Blood Authority, the other Church members' chances of victory were already slim.

Even if they won in the end, it would have been a miserable victory, possibly far more painful for those who survived than for the deceased.

While they chatted, Lanci remained silent.

    "..."

Lanci stared at the Orange Epic card in his hand, lost in thought.

"Frey, how about I trade this teardrop necklace for your wolf heart?" he asked Frey.

The value of both the "Indestructible Glazed Tear" and the "Heart of the Wolf King's Pride" was difficult to estimate.

One offered stability, while the other relied on the Card Creator's skill.

At least in Lanci's eyes, they were equal.

As he acquired more and more Orange Epic cards, the available slots for flexibly equipping other Magic Cards dwindled.

Even the world's top Tier 8 powerhouses generally didn't soul-bind too many Orange Epic or Pink Holy Magic Cards.

Permanent, unbound Epic cards required extreme caution in their selection. Lanci felt he wasn't suited to spend a permanent four-cost slot to pursue a mage-tank path.

If he ever needed to tank damage, it meant the situation was already on the verge of collapse.

Instead, Frey could use this Epic-grade item, and if Lanci acquired Frey's Epic-grade material, he might be able to create a Seal-attribute Magic Card better suited to himself.

Lanci had a feeling about this.

During the winter break two months later, he would definitely need to assume a new identity when he went to the Northern Continent.

To avoid being recognized, the two iconic Epic Magic Cards he had publicly used so far—"Great Love Poet" and "Glorious Virtue"—certainly couldn't be used casually.

Only the "Beautiful Melody" card, obtained last time in Purgatory Corridor Academy, which could summon the Purgatory Chorus, had not been used in front of anyone. When he went to the Northern Continent, he could use it as his new identity's trump card.

But a single control card wasn't enough.

He still needed a new core trump card, and even use it to open up his second profession: Sealing Mage!

    "No problem."

Frey naturally understood Lanci's meaning. He was willing to spend four card slots to permanently soul-bind this equipment.

If he acquired the "Indestructible Glazed Tear," Frey was confident he would be stronger, even if he were to duel Doom Maiden Adelis on any terrain.

Immediately, Frey decisively handed the "Heart of the Wolf King's Pride" to Lanci, and Lanci in turn gave the "Indestructible Glazed Tear" to Frey.

    "This heart..."

As Lanci touched the heart, brimming with immense power, it seemed to resonate with his own heartbeat, and even his soul felt an inexplicable pull towards it. The only thing he could be sure of was that he and it were perfectly compatible.

He remembered Talia once murmuring when she obtained the "Poem of Compassion" that it was a soul resonance she had never felt in her life, and she was certain she was the only one who could craft that material into a masterpiece.

Lanci hadn't been able to comprehend that feeling Talia spoke of then.

But now, he felt he understood.

He was even a little impatient, eager to begin crafting a Magic Card with the "Heart of the Wolf King's Pride" as its core material!

Once the Aroran Kingdom's academic visiting team had left, he could calmly begin card creation.

"By the way, when we return, the Aroran Kingdom's team will already be at the academy..." Hyperion Aransal looked outside the liminal space's gate, her expression somewhat worried, clearly concerned about being separated from the two of them.

Among the Aroran Kingdom's visiting team, there was a hidden elite Church of Rebirth member who might kill her at any moment if she was alone.

"When the three of us aren't in the Student Management Committee, I'll summon the Great Love Poet and have her stay with you in your dorm. With her by your side, it's not much different from staying with me," Lanci said, shifting his gaze from the "Heart of the Wolf King's Pride" to Hyperion Aransal.

After advancing to Tier 4, Lanci's Mental Strength had once again grown significantly, and attributes such as his mana limit, mana recovery speed, and spell resistance had all seen remarkable boosts. Even maintaining the Great Love Poet's summoned state for extended periods wouldn't be much of an issue.

During the day, when the three of them were together, it was fine. But at night, when they separated, the Great Love Poet would stay with Hyperion Aransal.

He would also entrust "Glorious Virtue" and "Beautiful Melody" to the Great Love Poet.

Should any situation arise, with the Great Love Poet and Hyperion Aransal cooperating, it would be almost equivalent to Lanci himself being there.

Generally, summoned beings could almost never use Magic Cards on behalf of their summoner. However, the Great Love Poet, in addition to possessing extremely high intelligence, was also skilled in the creation and use of Magic Cards, and could use all of Lanci's soul-bound Magic Cards, though the mana consumption would all be borne by Lanci.

"What about you then?" Hyperion Aransal asked worriedly.

Lanci himself would be dangerous without the Great Love Poet, not to mention that constantly maintaining the Great Love Poet's summon would steadily drain Lanci's mana, leaving him with insufficient reserves.

"I'll be staying with Frey for these few days," Lanci said, patting Frey's shoulder.

Anyway, Frey lived on the first floor of the Knight's Courtyard, and his dorm was quite spacious.

"Then we can play cards all night," Frey said, smiling at Lanci.

When these good brothers were together, no case was unsolvable.

"In that case... I'll live with Ranfu for a few days," Hyperion Aransal said, nodding with a sense of relief.

She actually quite enjoyed being with the Great Love Poet. The Great Love Poet was the first girl she could get along with without any reservations.

Perhaps it was because the Great Love Poet herself was a demon.

"Help me keep an eye on her."

Lanci couldn't control the Great Love Poet like he could a typical summoned creature. The Great Love Poet not only had her own thoughts, but she also made her own decisions.

When she was far away, Lanci had no way of knowing what she would do; he could only communicate with her telepathically.

Even his instructions were usually delivered as requests.

There was no other summoned being like the Great Love Poet, who would only consider complying if her summoner implored her to do something.

So, Lanci could only feel at ease if someone was watching her when she was out of his sight.

    "I will," Hyperion Aransal nodded.

Thinking about playing with Ranfu every day, she actually felt quite happy.

After a brief chat, the three of them walked together towards the void gate that would return them to the real world.

"Let's go meet the Aroran Kingdom's academic visiting team."

"We must get along well with our international friends, display the high quality of us Icerita citizens, and create a civilized city. The responsibility lies with you and me."

    "..."

The three chatted and laughed, bidding a final farewell to their unforgettable five-day trip to the cliffside castle.

Regardless, their wonderful Icerita Academy life was about to begin again!
