Chapter 5138: The Great Bed War?

Davis followed the Ghost Tear Hall Founder’s departure this time and saw that he had left through the secret pathway of the chamber. It was no wonder the detection formation wasn’t even tripped, and the defensive formation hadn’t shown any signs of damage or ripple.

He inwardly nodded at the way of retreating in approval. Plus, he didn’t need to repair the defensive formation.

However, there was another shadow that abruptly streaked past the balcony and pierced through the defensive formation after it made a hole in it.

"..."

Davis had the urge to facepalm as he saw the Ghost Tear Hall’s Founder try to mislead the Supreme One from tracing him accurately.

However, this was a headache for him.

He needed to repair the defensive formation again! Hopefully, since it was just a small hole like the one the arrow from Venerable Knight Lussandra made, it should repair itself, but he didn’t want to leave it open since, if he left it open, chances are someone might sneak in tonight yet again.

After waving his hand a few times as he walked across the chamber, trying to clear the remnant death energy that still stuck to the walls and furniture, he began repairing the defensive formation using the formation core.

Davis arrived before the foot of the bed again.

His gaze was straight at Jillian Hayden.

This woman dared to claim the bed now as she sat right in the middle of it, towards the foot of the bed. She was like a queen occupying her throne with how she sat there with her arms crossed as though she had personally purchased it.

"Move it. Go sit on the sofa or the chair you took out." He demanded.

Jillian Hayden turned to look at the chair that had fallen after Davis somersaulted her so rudely, even though it was a saving move. Remembering it, she glared at him.

"There’s so much space behind me. Feel free to use."

"You want to test my resistance to beauties? Suit yourself."

Davis jumped onto the bed and made the mattress bounce.

"..."

Jillian Hayden’s heart skipped a beat as she also nearly bounced with it. What’s more, out of all the places available on the gigantic bed, he directly sat beside her, their shoulders nearly touching.

She froze.

The bed was so huge, capable of accommodating over twelve people. Was it necessary that he occupy the space right by her side?

Without a word, she slowly scooted away from him, maintaining some distance, but he chased after her, causing her to glare before she soundlessly moved again to the edge.

Davis immediately scooted after her.

"You- stop this nonsense." Jillian Hayden covered her bosoms with one hand and pointed at him with the others, "You said you wouldn’t harm me."

"I did." Davis nodded, a trace of amuse in hidden in his blank eyes, "So does it look like I’m harming you or chasing you away from my bed?"

He lay on the bed as he cornered Jillian Hayden, nearly forcing her to roll out and fall to the ground. However, she stubbornly remained at the edge, glaring at him before she made her move.

With the speed of a cultivator making a tactical retreat, she practically flipped around him and reclaimed the center of the bed.

She plopped down triumphantly, her arms crossed and chin raised.

She then shot a look full of warning.

"..."

Davis raised his brows as he almost laughed out loud. This woman was trying to establish a territory for herself. This strange attachment to the bed, both of them treated it like it was a treasure. However, Davis already understood the underlying emotions in Jillian Hayden’s heart.

To her, this was her way of accepting that she still had the situation somewhat under her control or within her predictions.

On the other hand, he chased her because he was simply... bored.

The three days he had to wait for Fairy Divinacia to finish her task seemed like an incredibly long time since there were so many things that happened in just the first day.

He wished it wouldn’t continue like this but knew it wouldn’t go as he wished because the Ghost Tear Hall’s Founder had just visited, and what followed would definitely be worse.

In the meantime, he wanted to read the new techniques in peace, but boredom can even make him chase an innocent woman in bed. Realizing his actions were unbecoming of a husband since Evelynn was still watching, he made the decision to get out. Moreover, he knew if he remained here, Jillian Hayden would definitely ask a lot of questions, so he sighed and prepared to get out and go sit at a desk.

But as he turned to get out, a voice echoed behind him.

"Wait..."

"You... who are you?" Her voice was soft as she asked hesitantly.

Davis paused.

The questions quickly came, but he was again... incredibly bored, so he turned to look at her and said with a smirk, "There’s a chance if you know who I am, you will instantly turn hostile. Do you still want to know?"

He spoke in riddles, causing her to hesitate- or so he thought when she immediately nodded.

"Mhm, I want to know. At least let me know who I died to if you’re going to kill me in the end."

"..."

Davis lay on the bed and put his leg over the other. With his hands behind his head, he gazed at Jillian Hayden’s face upside down. If he had closed the distance, her bosoms might be in view, blocking her face.

"It’s very easy to guess. I’m literally the most vile person in the entire human galaxy right now."

"You mean..." Jillian Hayden’s gaze flickered.

"Yes, I mean."

Davis gazed at her with wide eyes, waiting to see the shock fill her face.

However, she still seemed unsure, "You mean..."

"Yes, I mean..."

"You mean...?"

"..."

Davis nearly jumped as he sat up and turned to look at her, "Are you seriously telling me you don’t know who the most vile person in the entire human galaxy is right now?"

Jillian Hayden looked embarrassed as much as she was incensed, "Of course, I know, but what do you mean by the most evil? Evil is evil by the time it reaches a certain threshold. I know Accursed Warlock is the evilest person in this realm, the Nine-Faced Devil Autarch is the evilest in all of the Upper Realms, and many more in the Greater Realm. Which one of these are you?"

"Where is the Divine Emperor of Death in this list?" Davis directly asked.

Jillian Hayden pursed her lips, "Why include him? I heard he is an evil force of the universe, but his character shouldn’t be that bad since I heard even the Supreme One formed a Covenant with him."

Davis narrowed his eyes, "It is true that the Supreme One formed a Covenant with him, but who told you that he isn’t evil? He is literally the cause for your entire family to run out of your mini realm and endure all this suffering. Am I wrong?"

"..." Jillian Hayden suddenly went silent.

She lowered her gaze, appearing hesitant, "I... in this mere month, I experienced how evil people here can be. Compared to them, I don’t know the Divine Emperor of Death or any of these villains. Compared to them, there were even worse people like the Steward, whom I believed, but unexpectedly only planned to use me to take you out. The Saint had a smile worse than any ancient painting of a Nether Devil I’ve seen. The father and mother I believed and held dear sold me out for the family’s survival. Compared to evil, why do they seem so much worse?"

Her gaze was distant, her lips quivering before she forced a smile, "Even you, I mistook you as the City Lord who wanted to violate me... so what are the chances that many people had misunderstood the Divine Emperor of Death? In one way, he is forced to fight with the heavens because he is a Divergent of the highest order. How could he be responsible for the evil committed by people in the Desolate Era when all he did was cultivate and endure tribulation like any other cultivator before leaving this place? Perhaps he’s the savior who will appear to get rid of all this filth."

"..." Davis was momentarily dumbfounded before he gazed at her solemnly.

"Stop fantasizing. You’re merely wishing for evil to eradicate evil."

"Yes!" Jillian Hayden’s expression turned dark, her gaze filled with venom, "Only poison can take out poison."

She clenched her fists as she nearly rose up, looking at him with a fierce gaze, "I already wished for the Divine Emperor of Death to appear here and kill everyone, so what? If he is evil, then that also makes me evil. But I am not evil, so I refuse to believe he is evil. Alright!?"

She looked like she was going to pounce on him, leaving Davis dumbfounded for a moment.

"Davis, isn’t she already aware and only playing the fool?" Abruptly, Evelynn’s voice echoed.

"She’s freaking clueless!"

Davis had the urge to flip the bed.

He had never seen someone so clueless that they missed a direct hint.

However, he calmed down, knowing and understanding that this woman went through a lot, and she started contemplating philosophical questions. She was at that period when he had walked past long ago after killing a million freaking soldiers at the city gates.

Jillian Hayden harrumphed as she sat back again, "Fine, since you won’t tell me who you are, then I won’t ask anymore. Instead, tell me what you do? What kind of power are you from? How many women do you have? Judging by that elder’s tone, you have quite a lot."

"...?"

Davis came out of his reverie, not because of the question, but he sensed a presence as the defensive formation barely rippled.

Abruptly, he saw a shadow flutter across the balcony from the corner of his eyes.

"Who goes there!?"

His pupils instantly dilated as he brought down the curtains on the bed with a flick of his finger, hiding his aura as he exclaimed.

A black-robed man with a hood over his head flew in from the balcony and landed. His first gaze fell on the secret entrance before he turned around again, looking outside. He possessed a peculiar expression before turning to look towards the bed, his expression turning cold as he saw the shadow of a man and a woman appearing quite close and intimate.

"..."

Davis was speechless as he turned to look at Jillian Hayden, who appeared by his side instantly.

She was quite the quick learner, fast seeking protection by coming to his side after the assassination incident, but in this case, he felt she did not need to fear the intruder; she should fear him more, for the intruder was none other than the Celestial Transcendent!
