Kat reformed and held her hands up, "FREEDOM!"
Lily looked down at Kat.
Kat noticed the gaze and looked up at Lily. Her voice... had been rather high pitched. "Ok so there are some issues..." Lily burst out into laughter and carefully picked Kat up off the ground by scooping her girlfriend up into her hand. Kat stood up, using her tale to balance as Lily’s hand moved upwards closer to her face.
"I... don’t know how to feel about this..." mumbled Lily, though for Kat it might as well have been shouting in her face, because it sort of was. She was now eye level with Lily and just as tiny as before. She stood about the same height as a barbie doll though with much better balance.
Kat shrugged, "Am I actually any weaker like this? It’s not as if my muscles accurately reflected how strong I was before either,"
Lily frowned, shook her head and then turned to Scar. "Why is Kat still so small?" *Getting ignored am I?*
*Alright again.* Kat repeated the transformation, costing her another big chunk of demonic energy as she generated the excess water. The stuff she was controlling originally had all vanished alongside the transformation, strengthening the argument that something weird was going on.
Kat transformed once again, and it seemed like the stutter might have happened? It was hard to tell, and clearly something had changed because now that she was trying to notice the odd effect it was even harder to detect. Smoother too. Kat wasn’t entirely sure if she’d seen herself at full height or not. So she asked, Lily?
*Bother.*
[Well... how about we go see Appoline. Maybe it’s a potion effect?] Kat shrugged at the suggestion, she couldn’t think of one better. So with a nod to Scar they moved out of the room and over to Appoline. Of course, that also meant getting within range of Vanilla. Lily failed to react, as Kat was yoinked from her hand.
"Oh my god, you’re so cute and tiny like this!" said Vanilla with a grin as she simultaneously bent down and raised Kat up. It was amusing in theory, but it meant she was closer to eye level with Kat’s feet then her head. Kat, deciding to go along with this, sat down and waved. "How come you’re still tiny?"
"That’s what we want to know," Lily added as she glanced at Appoline. "We were wondering if it was perhaps a potion effect."
Appoline nodded and went to examine Kat... but Vanilla pulled her away. Kat raised an eyebrow, Lily raised an eyebrow, Appoline raised an eyebrow. Kat was half sure that the sleeping Maryland did the same, causing Vanilla to pout. "Why are you guys bullying me? I just want to enjoy cute tiny Kat for a bit longer."
"We’re just investigating," insisted Lily. "Even if she adorable right now, I’m more worried about the fact she seems to be stuck like that..." Kat shrugged when Vanilla looked down at her.
"Fine," grumbled Vanilla as she handed Kat over to Appoline who took the demon gently... and then started poking at her. Kat just allowed her to do it. Lily hovered menacingly over Appoline’s shoulder, but ultimately didn’t end up needing to do anything. Still, Appoline was fairly thorough, poking and pinching at Kat’s skin. Inspected the inside of her mouth. Checking her eyes and a few other things before giving her back... to Vanilla.
"Really?" grumbled Lily.
Appoline shrugged, "I can’t see any evidence it’s a potion-based effect."
"That sounds shockingly non-committal coming from you, especially when since involves potions," commented Lily.
Appoline nodded, "You’re right that’s because it is. I found no evidence it’s potion based, and no evidence it isn’t. It seems that Kat here really has been shrunk, instead of simply using some tricks to make it seem that way, such as having her pilot a body around that just looks like her old one."
"Wait is that common?" asked Lily.
Appoline shrugged, "Not... amazingly common but a lot of the more extreme transformations just store the original body away, either in something resembling the stomach if the creature is large enough or in a pocket dimension attached to the body,"
"So what does that MEAN for us?" asked Lily.
Appoline shrugged. "I don’t really know. I’d assume it’s a limited time effect but only because I don’t know of a way to make something like this permanent even if it was an enchantment. The man costs would simply be too much."
Lily glanced at her currently tiny girlfriend, who upon feeling the attention just shrugged. "It doesn’t bother me being like this. It’s amusing for the moment so just... don’t worry too much about it? We can test how strong I am soon,"
"Why not now?" asked Lily, to which Kat simply pointed to Vanilla who was currently cooing at her and pretending to pat her head with a finger. "Ok fair enough. Vanilla... don’t you have your own girlfriend to worry about?"
Vanilla paused halfway through a pat to look up at Lily. "Perhaps... but this is a good distraction for now. Are you going to take that away from me?"
Lily knew it was a bait. She knew Vanilla was playing her... but dammit it was working. "Fine. You and Kat can play around for a bit, we can test Kat’s strength later..."
