Chapter 53: Feedback Merge |
[Identity 1]
[Main Precept: Oath-keeping]
[Precept Feedback: (&#……#GW)]
[Precepts with significant causal connections have been synchronized and completed. Aggregating the Precept Feedback can condense stronger Traits. Do you wish to synthesize a higher-quality Trait?]
"So there is such a variation?" Sensing the information transmitted from the Divinity, Nemus quickly grasped the core of the matter.
This was equivalent to merging similar items, using this method to elevate quality through quantity.
Nemus''s Divinity was incomplete, and there had been no prior explanations of this sort. It was only when he actually encountered the situation that such a prompt appeared.
Furthermore, this feedback aggregation could not even be completed by the Divinity itself.
Following Nemus''s choice, he felt the Divinity begin to operate. The Precept Feedback power that would have originally formed separately now began to melt and blend together to a certain degree.
Consequently, Nemus had to react quickly. His will and spirit delved deep into the Divinity, taking control of the various streams of Precept Feedback to guide their fusion.
During the fusion process, some of the feedback did not blend harmoniously, resulting in mutual repulsion.
The moment they repelled one another, that portion of power would become unstable and leak away.
Nemus swiftly adjusted his state, meticulously sensing the nature of those energies.
''Agility-based, technique-based, control-based...''
''These are all Traits related to those seven people.''
''Some of these Traits do not merge well together; I have no choice but to abandon them.''
''Fortunately, the power of these individuals is mostly quite concentrated.''
Under Nemus''s control, these Trait powers quickly began to fuse.
Once the fusion was complete, the prompt arrived a step late, but Nemus already knew what the new Trait was.
[Precept Feedback: New Addition—(Ultimate Control): Your Covenant Tool gains the ability of ultimate control. Whether it is your direct control over the Covenant Tool or the Covenant Tool''s control over other life forms it parasitizes, both have been vastly enhanced.]
Nemus paused slightly and swiped his hand. Several fine ropes materialized out of thin air, floating around him before rapidly weaving together, condensing into a humanoid figure nearly identical to Nemus in size and shape.
Unless one used investigative abilities to observe it, they would not even realize that this person was entirely composed of ropes.
Most importantly, this humanoid Covenant Tool actually exhibited breathing, a heartbeat, and a series of other physiological movements.
If necessary, Nemus could even control it to eat, digest, and excrete.
This was partly due to Nemus''s profound understanding of the human body, and partly a result of the enhanced control over his Covenant Tool.
"With this, combined with the Bloodline Connection Trait obtained from the old pastor, I might be able to further adjust the Whale Transformation Sickness," Nemus mused.
"I could even delve deeper into researching the manifestations of bloodlines."
"Of course, these are all just increases in power. The real focus is the synthetic change of the Precept this time." Nemus shifted his attention back to the recent changes within the Divinity.
Without a doubt, a complete Divinity possessed this function. By fulfilling a large number of Precepts, one could obtain power and extract the Commonality of these powers, thereby forming stronger Traits.
However, Nemus''s Divinity was incomplete. Although this function existed, it required Nemus to manually control and complete the process.
"But this is actually a good thing," Nemus said. He was not frustrated that much of the Precept Feedback had been wasted during his unskillful synthesis; rather, he saw the underlying benefits. "Previously, I knew very little about the Divinity. Everything relied on it operating autonomously, and even if I wanted to intervene, I had no way to do so."
"But it is different now. Handling it personally has given me a much deeper understanding of how the Divinity operates."
The Divinity itself was far too high-tier, and it was already automated to a certain extent.
If Nemus had acquired a complete Divinity, he might have been able to use it to rapidly complete the change in his species Number, but the Divinity would have forever remained a black box to him.
The concept of a black box referred to a system where one did not understand the internal workings, determining its usage solely through external inputs and outputs.
It was like a mobile phone; most people did not know why it could light up or how it could have so many functions, making the mobile phone a black box to them.
Beyond the black box, known systems and regions were referred to as white boxes. The partially observable areas that lay between black and white boxes were called gray boxes.
And now, this black box of a Divinity had been broken open.
It had transitioned from a black box into a gray box.
This meant that by continuously operating the Divinity, Nemus could observe its internal operating Mechanics through its damaged areas.
"Only in this way can I truly understand the structural principles of the Divinity step by step," Nemus murmured.
"That way, even if I lose this portion of the Discipline Divinity''s Number one day, I might be able to reconstruct my own Divinity in my own way."
Nemus reined in his thoughts slightly, then turned his gaze back to his other cluster of spoils.
[Identity 2]
[Main Rule: Absolution]
[Precept Feedback: ("E#T#Y&)]
[Conditions met... Do you wish to synthesize a higher-quality Trait?]
"Then let us begin!" Fully prepared, Nemus once again poured his energy into the Divinity, commencing the synthesis of the Precept Feedback.
Unlike the Traits obtained through covenants, Nemus discovered this time that the Precept Feedback acquired from the Main Rule was much more robust.
''So that is how it is. The feedback gained from Oath-keeping is brought about by the vow. The moment they sign the covenant, the Precept begins, and all the gains are already attached to the covenant. Fulfilling the Oath-keeping Precept merely ensures that these gains do not vanish.''
''Under these circumstances, even if the other covenant party dies, as long as the covenant is not torn up as a result, this power will still exist.''
''Just like Nels. After he violated the covenant and had his body seized by me, it was done according to the covenant. Therefore, the power brought by my Oath-keeping remains.''
''The Absolution feedback is different. The core of Absolution is obtaining the blessings of other individuals. As long as the individual I absolved does not die, the blessing will always persist.''
Nemus observed one of the Trait clusters. It came from Arlo, and Nemus could roughly determine its type—it enhanced attack power in some specific way.
Nemus grabbed another cluster that came from a dual-wielding swordsman—a Trait that enhanced dual-wielded weapons—and fused the two together.
Throughout the entire process, the feedback did not dissipate from resistance like the feedback from the Oath-keeping Precept had.
However, fusing them together was exceptionally difficult, and there were always certain parts that simply refused to merge completely.
By the time Nemus had roughly fused all the feedback Traits, this round of synthesis came to an end.
[Precept Feedback: New Addition (Opper Merchant Group)—Fusion Essence: The ability to draw upon other elements within oneself to enhance the Traits of another aspect of the body.]
