Chapter 1169: The Taboo among Taboos!

"Even Immortal Nimrod couldn’t track a Void Mantis?"

The Artifact Spirit found Jacob’s question absurd as it lambasted, "Of course! A Void Mantis ranked 5th within the entire Fantastic Insect Race and is the only Fantastic Insect that can be born in the Universal Void!

"Lord Whiteness had undergone many trials and life-threatening situations to achieve the impossible and evolved into one of the most fearsome beings within the Universal Void.

"However, the Void Monarch would never allow another being that could threaten his control over the Universal Void, and thus, tried to control Lord Whiteness at first.

"But how could a Fantastic Insect fall under someone else’s control? With the help of the ’Supreme One’, Lord Whiteness was able to break free from the Void Monarch’s control and escape the Universal Void.

"Moreover, Lord Whiteness also freed me from the tyranny of the Void Monarch as well. As for what exactly happened before then, Lord Whiteness never divulged that information to me or even the Supreme One.

"Apparently, that time was something Lord Whiteness never wanted to remember, and according to him, the biggest disgrace of his life!"

The Artifact Spirit’s voice contained a trace of melancholy before it suddenly jolted as it quickly berated, "But that’s beside the point! Mortal, if you cherish your life, stay away from these beings like Void Monarch or the Supreme One!

"Right now, you have gained a new lease on life, and I suggest you keep hiding here if this space can really obstruct the Supreme One’s vision.

"Moreover, as long as you are within the Legendary Plains, the Supreme One can’t do anything to you because there is no one else like Lord Whiteness who can cross boundaries of the Universal Void without getting noticed by the Void Monarch!

"Besides, if you want to really have me acknowledge you as my owner, you have to listen to me and prove yourself worthy enough to at least hide from these beings." The Brocade Box said matter-of-factly.

Jacob completely ignored the Artifact Spirit’s last ranting as he was still filled with astonishment about the past of Whiteness and the vague history the Brocade Box had revealed between the Void Mantis and Immortal Nimrod.

’A Void Mantis can even break free from the control of the heir of UGS? The fantastic insect race is really worthy of their fearsome reputation. But what even more interesting is this Supreme One, who can compel a Void Mantis to do its bidding, almost to the point of doing suicidal things.’

Jacob’s eyes compressed with shrewdness, ’Something is not right here. After all, this Supreme One is coming after Autarch, probably because I gain absolute control over the Brain Hunter. Could it be this is also about ’control’ or authority?’

He spoke coldly, "You don’t have to worry about these things, and I want to make it absolutely clear that even if I agree to your condition, it doesn’t mean I’ll follow your orders. It’s the other way around. If you’re not convinced, you may try to resist and see what happens!"

For a moment, the Brocade Box seemed to have forgotten its current situation, and since Jacob was listening to it, it thought maybe Jacob could be manipulated as long as Jacob cared about getting its acknowledgement, but it had clearly underestimated him.

Jacob also sensed it, and that’s why he drew a clear line between his authority and the brocade box’s subservience. After all, no matter if this divine artifact was grateful to Whiteness for freeing it or just pretending to be to gain Jacob’s sympathy, Jacob didn’t care the least bit.

All Jacob cared about at this moment was that this divine artifact could provide him information about Immortal Nimrod, especially about the latter’s hideout within the Universal Void. .

But first, Jacob has to fully tame it and make it absolutely loyal, so it won’t hide anything. If what Jacob is thinking now could really be achieved, he needs the full cooperation of this brocade box.

"What about Destin Saint?" Jacob inquired as to why this Brocade Box never mentioned Destin Saint even once, as if it didn’t know anything.

The Brocade Box remained silent for a moment before it spoke with a hint of exasperation, "I never heard Lord Whiteness mentioning this name. But since you dare to mention this name within the same breath as Void Monarch, I guess this should be another powerful entity."

Jacob was slightly surprised by the unexpected turn. After all, with Destin Saint’s power, it shouldn’t be possible for him to remain unknown.

Not to mention, Immortal Nimrod and Destin Saint seemed to be in a deep-seated mortal feud and were mortal enemies, as he personally witnessed it. But when he thought about Destin Saint’s mystical abilities, Jacob didn’t dare to have any doubts about his abilities or capabilities.

Jacob’s eyes shifted on unconscious Whiteness for a moment as his eyes flickered with anticipation, ’Did Whiteness know anything about this? After all, if he was under the control of Immortal Nimrod, he probably knows more secrets. I have to find a way to get every last one of his memories and then...’

At this moment, Whiteness’s importance, or specifically his memories’ importance, became priceless within Jacob’s mind.

As for the Brocade Box, Jacob decided not to reveal anything to it, as this Artifact Spirit seemed quite timid and probably would try to flee at any chance it got if it really knew about what kind of enemies were after him, and Void Monarch was just one of them!

"You don’t have to worry about these things." Jacob impassively stated, "But you still hadn’t told me who this ’Supreme One’ is? And you don’t have to worry about saying his name out loud in this space. As for whether I could really preserve it or not, I guess we have to see about that now."

"You’re so obstinate!" The Brocade Box seemed to be appalled at Jacob’s persistence, making it think Jacob seemed to have turned a deaf ear to everything it had just explained.

Jacob’s ambiance turned icy cold as he uttered, "Just say the damn name!"

The Brocade Box’s patterns churn violently as if having a great battle with its very instinct before it finally uttered in trembling voice, "F.A.N.T.A.S.T.I.C! I.N.S.E.C.T! D.E.M.I.U.R.G.E!"

    1170 : The Real Intentions

The trembling brocade box uttered the words, word by word, as if having great difficulty. When it was done, its voice turned extremely feeble while the pattern on it almost stopped as if waiting for the incoming retribution.

Furthermore, the Artifact Spirit thought that Jacob wouldn't be able to perceive the Taboo name and even suffer a mental blow because of his recklessness. However, at that moment, he uttered, "Fantastic Insect Demiurge?! " The Brocade box instantly stopped trembling as if it had forgotten its fear. "YOU heard it!? " The Artifact Spirit almost shrieked in disbelief and astonishment, but Jacob didn't pay attention to its theatrics because at that moment his mind was filled with shock.

"A Demiurge... so it exists !" He felt as if he had stumbled upon something terrifying, since he remembered something about this title; it wasn't the first time he had heard it.

"When Autarch had turned into an eternal slave, the first thing he told me was that his loyalty and trust should only belong to the Demiurge. At that time, I thought it was just a concept, some kind of inherited legend of his race. I even said to him I would be his Demiurge since he feels the same kind of loyalty and trust towards me, and that matter ended... However, who would've thought that a real Demiurge would pop out of nowhere, and his name is also 'Fantastic Insect Demiurge'; Pretty obvious. Now that I finally know who this 'Supreme One' is, everything is starting to make sense. First, the Fantastic Insect Race couldn't be controlled by anyone; the Void Mantis was the prime example.

It betrayed Immortal Nimrod despite his terrifying dominance in the Universal Void and earned the latter's hatred, but the mantis did not go into hiding; instead, it sought shelter with the Demiurge and even became its loyalist.

"Even if I assume the mantis was weak and needed a powerful backer to continue to grow and also deter Immortal Nimrod, it still won't make sense for the void mantis, a Higher Law god, to risk its life by traversing the Universal Void".

Not only that, but it also sacrificed its very foundation, just to find the heretic and even staked its life to get rid of the heretic, despite knowing there was a "hidden one" protecting the heretic. But what if it was the Fantastic Insect Demiurge who manipulated the Void Mantis into betraying Immortal Nimrod so that it could make it its strongest general? And what if the Fantastic Insect Demiurge has this kind of effect on all Fantastic Insects in existence? After all, when Autarch gained intelligence, the first thing he mentioned was his loyalty to the Demiurge, which means once he reached a certain rank, he was supposed to do the same as Whiteness, and join the Fantastic Insect Demiurge, but I interfered, and whatever control it had on Autarch vanished, making Autarch the heretic and probably for this exact reason he needed to be eliminated "

Jacob deduced almost everything, but he knew there was more to it. "But it still won't make sense for the Fantastic Insect Demiurge to send a Higher Law god Void Mantis right off the bat. Could it be he wants something from Autarch, or is the Supreme One feeling... Threatened ?" He was astounded at his own notion, as it was simply too absurd, as this was a Demiurge that seemed to have profound control over the entire Fantastic Insect Race, and such an existence wouldn't feel threatened by a speck of dust. However, nothing else made sense anymore, and Jacob decided to believe that Autarch had something the Demiurge wanted, but he couldn't extinguish the thought as a threat to the Demiurge.

!" Nonetheless, now that Jacob knew what a terrifying existence was after Autarch, and not even Nimrod could do anything to it, he decided to exercise more caution and finally focused on the Brocade Box and inquired, "What else do you know about the 'Demiurge'? The Box seemed to have calmed down after realizing that nothing had happened, even after revealing the taboo name, and Jacob said it. Unknowingly, it had started trusting the Infinite Space power, which can elude the perception of a Demiurge, but that didn't mean that it was a simpleton; It realized that Jacob was fishing for intel. "Enough," It sounded exasperated, "Information about these entities is not easy to probe, not to mention most of the time, what they show is the complete opposite of the truth. Moreover, knowing too much is only bringing ruin to oneself; even Lord Whiteness knew about it and always tread carefully, and I strongly suggest you do so as well".

"Well, it seems I have to wait for it to calm down". Jacob thought as his eyes flickered coldly. But he didn't push any further, because deep down, he agreed with the Artifact spirit, for even Immortika had warned him. "Now tell me, what kind of fantastic insect are you?' The Artifact Spirit questioned again. Jacob thought for a moment about whether he should tell the truth or keep it that way. "Eclipse Alpes Imhoff, ranked 18th in the Fantastic Insect Race!" Jacob stated Impassively. "18th? How's that possible?" The spirit sounded startled.

"What? Can't you believe a fantastic insect, not even ranked within the top 10, can take down a void mantis? Or are you shocked that this fantastic insect managed to catch the eyes of the demiurge, becoming a 'Heretic' because the 'Supreme One' felt threatened by it? " Jacob coldly rebutted. The Brocade Box was really thinking something like what Jacob had just stated, but when he heard the last part, it retorted without hesitation, "What do you mean by 'threatened'? Do you even know what you're talking about?" Then how do you explain all of this? " Jacob calmly questioned.

It may seem like he was arguing, but in truth, he was cunningly manipulating the conversation to get more information out of the Box. This time, it was speechless because, in truth, it did not think about this possibility, or that thought did not even cross its mind. But everything was strange, and the Artifact spirit, like Jacob, thought it made no sense to send Whiteness after such a low-ranking fantastic insect unless it was above Whiteness Rank; it might've made sense, but it no longer does. The Artifact Spirit replied timidly, " I - I don't know ...."

"It really didn't know?" Jacob could not confirm its sincerity, but he had to live with it...for now, and he decided to get to the point, "Alright, just tell me your conditions now.”

yeah but with the cards in his hand so far :
      - the law bomb
      - the void cicada
      - at least 100 million year life span after the nightmare plan for a powerfull wish
      - maybe vitality architect soon

its still not enough to get the gem back from Immortal nimrod by himself.
he still needs to get the rest of the red machina units and steal the main hidden time hourglass.

perhaps i forgot something but if he uses these cards alone the best he can make is to get safely to the upper plains.

but if we add the possibility of luring the main body of destined saint to fight immortal nimrod he can try to play the pig to eat the tiger and get the gem back but he will end in a miserable state for sure! and would probably lose the artifact of alexendra's UGS.

also the worst part is becoming life and death enemies with destined saint since the later would confirm that jacob isnt affected by his arcane law.
