Chapter 58: Heaven-Man Clash |
From this day on.
All of Qingzhou kept a close eye on Daoist Longshan’s movements.
Starting from the Purple River Sword Sect, Daoist Longshan forged ahead.
With his Heaven-Man Realm cultivation, and with information from the Purple River Sword Master and Luo Wentian, tracking the trail became much easier — not to mention, plenty of people were now eager to do him a favor. After all, a Heaven-Man Realm expert under a hundred years old was bound to stand at the pinnacle of Great Yan one day.
In just over ten days.
Every faction or rogue cultivator in Qingzhou that had been involved in this matter suffered. Some were directly killed, some had their cultivation crippled, and some forces were outright disbanded.
Daoist Longshan’s ruthless efficiency left everyone gasping in shock.
The Zhenwu Sect’s reputation soared.
Many people were thankful they hadn’t let greed get the better of them earlier.
This time, Daoist Longshan and the Zhenwu Sect had become the center of all attention in Qingzhou.
...
Cangzhou.
Canghai Prefecture City.
Two figures had just exited the Jade Flower Pavilion — Iron Dragon and Iron Tiger, who had fled here from Qingzhou.
At this moment, both looked refreshed. Iron Tiger cursed with a grin:
“D**n it, after being cooped up for so long, we finally pulled off something big. Boss, I really don’t think we need to be this cautious anymore. Cangzhou and Qingzhou are so far apart — it’s time we made a name for ourselves here.”
Iron Dragon nodded and reassured him:
“We’ll lay low for now. Don’t worry — once we brothers advance in cultivation, we’ll slaughter the Zhenwu Sect for revenge, and get your Dominant Tiger True Intent Diagram back!”
Just as they were speaking.
Their bodies suddenly froze. They stared ahead, shock and fear in their eyes.
That figure standing midair — they knew him well.
“Daoist Longshan...”
Their voices were hoarse, filled with disbelief. They’d seen Daoist Longshan before, but never imagined he’d reach the Heaven-Man Realm — let alone chase them all the way to Cangzhou.
They wanted to flee, but the gap between White Mist Realm and Heaven-Man Realm was far too great.
“Spare us...”
The words squeezed out of their throats, trembling with fear. Now that Daoist Longshan had found them, they knew there was no escape.
Daoist Longshan simply looked at the two calmly. He had spent a lot of time tracking them, even calling in several favors — but only by finding these two could he justifiably visit the Wang family.
“Tell me, was it Wang Qingfeng who ordered you to steal the Zhenwu inheritance?”
Iron Dragon and Iron Tiger could only nod repeatedly.
The fear in their eyes was almost tangible. They wanted to beg for mercy, but no words came out.
“Good. Then I’ll leave you whole.”
Daoist Longshan pointed a finger — Iron Dragon and Iron Tiger’s eyes widened instantly, and they died on the spot without a sound.
Thus.
The Three Fiends of Iron Ridge were all executed.
They likely never imagined they could flee all the way to Cangzhou and still be found by Daoist Longshan. They had only themselves to blame for not laying low — otherwise, Daoist Longshan would’ve had to spend much more time on the hunt.
Carrying their corpses, Daoist Longshan soared into the air under the awestruck gazes of nearby onlookers.
...
Qingzhou.
Ever since Daoist Longshan stirred up trouble, all eyes had been fixed on the matter. But after more than ten days with no new developments — and even Daoist Longshan vanishing from Qingzhou — people thought the matter was about to come to a close.
Just then.
An event that rocked all of Qingzhou occurred.
Daoist Longshan, armed with collected evidence, arrived at the Wang Clan’s doorstep!
The Wang Clan of Qingzhou — a true top-tier family, backed by a Heaven-Man Realm patriarch — far from anything ordinary factions could compare with.
Rumors had already spread, linking the recent attacks on the Zhenwu Sect to the Wang Clan.
But no one expected Daoist Longshan to be this bold.
When Iron Dragon and Iron Tiger’s corpses landed at the Wang Clan gates, everyone gasped.
“Wang Qingfeng, get out here.”
Daoist Longshan stood calmly before the Wang Clan’s lavish estate. But his voice, like rolling thunder, echoed across the grand compound.
Soon.
People began filing out in succession — among them, many Qi Origin Realm experts, showcasing the Wang Clan’s powerful foundation.
The head of the family, Wang Qinghe, said solemnly:
“Daoist Longshan, even if you’re a Heaven-Man Realm expert, my Wang Clan is not to be insulted.”
The surrounding Wang clan disciples glared with anger. They were used to being untouchable — no one had dared to confront them until now. If not for Daoist Longshan’s Heaven-Man status, they would’ve already started cursing.
But one middle-aged man looked pale, eyes darting nervously.
Daoist Longshan’s gaze paused on him for a moment. Then he said calmly:
“You are not qualified to speak with me.”
Everyone erupted in fury.
Just as they were about to shout back, an aged voice rang out from deep within the estate:
“Does this old man qualify?”
Everyone turned to see an elderly figure walking through the air. Though his voice had come from far away, he now appeared right before their eyes. His hair was white, his body slightly hunched — but standing atop the estate gate, he exuded overwhelming pressure.
His identity was immediately clear.
The Wang Clan Patriarch.
“Greetings, Ancestor!” The Wang family all bowed in respect.
Daoist Longshan locked eyes with him, a hint of gravity in his expression, but no retreat. His figure slowly rose to match the elder’s height and said calmly:
“Senior Wang, I’m not here to be overbearing, but your Wang Clan members conspired against the Zhenwu Sect. All the evidence is here. I need an explanation.”
His Daoist robe fluttered without wind. His words stunned everyone.
To challenge a veteran Heaven-Man Realm expert right after stepping into that realm — that took immense courage.
The Wang Patriarch narrowed his eyes and stared at Daoist Longshan for a moment before exhaling slowly.
“Of the Three Flowers — Essence, Energy, Spirit — which have you cultivated?”
Daoist Longshan answered with confidence:
“All three must converge at the crown to reach the Martial Saint Realm.”
The Wang Patriarch narrowed his eyes and gave a cold laugh:
“What arrogance. You youngsters don’t know the immensity of heaven and earth!”
Daoist Longshan remained expressionless:
“No need to trouble yourself over it, Senior.”
The Wang Patriarch’s aura gathered as his tone turned icy:
“If you seek to converge all three flowers, I assume you’re working on the Flower of Essence now. I only broke through to the Heaven-Man Realm near the end of my lifespan. I’ve spent over three hundred years cultivating the Flower of Essence. Since you want an explanation, let me test your strength.”
As his words fell.
The Wang Patriarch’s body began to change. His hunched back straightened, his shriveled skin plumped up, his white hair turned black — the withered old man vanished, replaced by a tall, robust middle-aged man. His eyes were cold and sharp, radiating overwhelming pressure.
A murmur spread through the crowd. Many who had never witnessed a Heaven-Man expert in action were filled with awe and disbelief.
Such a reversal of bodily aging seemed almost magical.
Daoist Longshan looked up and laughed boldly, his figure also rising step by step:
“Since Senior Wang has issued the invitation, how could I refuse?”
