Chapter 2044: Severe Injuries

Grey immediately realized that his life was in danger, and if he did not act fast, he might end up seriously wounded, or worse, dead.

The distance between him and the beastman from the Tempest Fang Clan was already too close, there was no way for him to use his space element to dodge the attack. Which meant that he had to take the attack head on.

His mind moving fast, the first thing he made use of was his gravitational force field. The sudden change of gravity, although it might not have much impact in the presence of a master as strong as this one, its suddenness is bound to at least slow him down for a short frame, thereby giving Grey the chance he needed to react appropriately.

Just as Grey expected, the gravitational force field only managed to slow down the beastman for a split second, but that was what he expected from the start.

After making use of the gravitational force field, Grey’s figure shone with a brilliant brownish glow that gave off the feeling like a darkish gold hue was surrounding Grey.

Boom!

A powerful shockwave spread out as the attack from the beastman from the Tempest Fang Clan slammed into Grey’s figure.

The instant Grey was struck by the attack, he felt his blood churning as he coughed out a mouthful of blood. Blood also streamed out from his nose, while a large bone could be seen piercing behind his back. It was easy to see that it was one of Grey’s rib bones that had fractured and pierced him from within.

Grey’s black clothes were quickly dyed in his own block as his figure also shot through the sky, crashing straight into a mountain that was around a kilometer or two away from this place.

"Grey!"

Alice, Reynolds, and Klaus all exclaimed at the same time when they saw the attack hitting Grey. They all sensed the ferocity of the attack and found it hard to breathe under the pressure the attack gave off. If from such a distance they could sense the shocking power the attack held, they knew that if struck, none of them would survive it.

’Can he survive it?’

The trio were frozen from the shock of watching Grey being struck by such an attack. Luckily, they were not engaged in a battle at the time Grey was attacked. Thanks to the order to retreat from the leader of the Tempest Fang Clan, most of them were focused on escaping, so what the trio had been doing was hunting down these experts who were trying to escape. When these masters noticed that their opponents stopped attacking, they did not try to counterattack or take advantage of the opportunity, instead, they put in more effort to escape.

The gray-haired beastman was also taken aback by the sacrifice of the beastman, not expecting him to be able to use his life in exchange for another. Fortunately, he was not the one the attack was aimed at. Although he felt some pity thinking that the helper he got was dead, he also knew that with the assistance Grey had offered, as well as the death of this beastman, his tribe would undoubtedly win since the leader of the Tempest Fang Clan was the only one who still had complete fighting strength, whereas on his side, all four Peak Sovereigns were still alive!

Not wasting any time, he quickly called the white-clothed beastman to rush over and assist him with taking down the leader of the Tempest Fang Clan.

Void did not bother with the battle as he rushed towards the mountain where Grey’s figure crashed into, anxiously searching for Grey’s body. He did not search long before he found a bloodied Grey who could barely stand. The sight of Grey made Void’s heart skip a bit. Throughout his years of following Grey, this was the most severe injury he had suffered. Even the time he fell into a coma back at the Pyrmond Faction, he was not this seriously physically wounded.

Grey struggled to climb out of the crater, vehemently coughing blood. His face was pale white, a clear sign that he was seriously injured.

Grey’s eyes were a little bloodshot, raising his head, he stared coldly at the gray-haired beastman. After taking a glance, he waited for a few more seconds and saw his friends rushing to his side. Seeing them, he immediately entered into a meditative state to try to stop the bleeding from his injuries as well as to try to solve the hidden injuries that might follow as soon as possible.

When the group appeared, they did not ask him how he was doing. They immediately positioned themselves in alignment with Void, creating a square with Grey in the middle, and each of them standing on one edge. Their auras were at the peak, and it was evident they were ready to attack anything that came close to this area.

Grey took some healing tonics from his spatial storage, after gulping it down, he felt a cool sensation wash over his body, and the pains he was feeling slowly started to subside. Even without Grey actively moving it, the rib bone that penetrated through his back slowly sank into his body as he started to recover at a shocking speed.

One has to know that Grey’s healing capabilities are vastly superior to that of a normal human, it could even be said to be on par with the very top Magical Beasts out there. His healing abilities skyrocketed after he absorbed the blood essence of the expert from the Vaerghal Family back in the secret world of the Magical Beasts.

As Grey focused on healing his injuries, the battle between both clans had already reached its climax. With the advantage of an extra Peak Sovereign, as well as the fact that two of the three Peak Sovereigns from the Tempest Fang Clan had been fatally wounded by Grey’s sneak attack, it did not take too long before they started to fall. First it was the one whom Grey first sneak attacked that died, followed by the one fighting with the beastwoman. All four Peak Sovereigns besieged the leader of the Tempest Fang Clan, and in his desperate final attack, the Tempest Fang Clan leader was able to successfully cut off the hand of the already injured beastman from the gray-haired beastman’s clan.

The beastman whose arm was cut off was none other than the one Grey injured when he battled with them after taking the lightning crystal.

Ending the lives of the Peak Sovereigns, the gray-haired beastman and his companions flew in Grey’s direction.

They stood around two hundred meters away from them, and the eyes of the white-clothed beastman could barely hide his malicious intent.
