Considering that this is a 2011 novel, its ok at best.
Lots of too much talking that I end up skipping most chapters just to get to the end of it.
I don't know who talks that much in a fight, this feels like the protagonist is the villian with the level of explanation this guy gives.

Ch 344 now, I've read enough to give a small review. This novel reminds me a lot of "Otherworldly Evil Monarch" for those who have read that. Well, same author but I didn't know that until I started this review.

The MC is a reincarnate from a modern Earth that had a cultivation background. LIterature, legends, all the same as our own world. He was aware from the womb, and began cultivating there.

Born into one of the continent's great families as its sole heir, he fakes a reputation as a silkpants to conceal his ambition to conquer the entire world. Using that to gain time for wealth, build his forces, and to cultivate.

The continent is one of three, and filled with empires and great families that are becoming restless, with chaotic wars brewing everywhere. Here, the MC wants to use this chaos to further his own goals, implementing his own clandestine operations.

The story is about the MC facing the plots and schemes of his own imperial family and that of other families nearby. To survive the crisis and thrive, he must oppose them.

The author is quite skilled in writing a good story. I haven't read all his works, just Otherworldly Evil Monarch, and Transcending the Nine Heavens, but the writing is top rate for a webnovel. This one lacks the humor of OEM, and the massive world (s) building of TNH. The story seems shorter and moves along at a better pace than either of them though.

It's worthy of reading, that's for sure.

Good glow of stories great novel

very big disappointment
I loved the MC, I shot a lot of episodes, he always hid himself and waited for that day, but I was bored until that day came...
I used to think the MC was strong but he always had his servants do the work, he was always secretive, he just lived a comfortable life. I didnt realize how strong it was but I was hopeful because I said strong but half of the novel lasted so long it pissed off a host I don't know what to say, seriously huge disappointment.
There is a harem, but I dont understand why it exists. He doesnt love everyone equally, and some dont show interest afterwards.
He directly forgave the girl he had avenged in his previous life. In his second life, he took her as a concubine. Also, the girl was actually in love with him but he cheated on the MC for his family, then it's not love, just a simple admiration for the MC's talent, but the MC forgave and got married...Even in the finale, that girl is mentioned the most, so many wasted girl characters in the novel there is
Lets talk about the finale, I've never seen anything as ridiculous as the final fight, the MC is shouting, you think the person he was shouting is dead but no, his life is not in danger.
A shameful novel. I have never been so disappointed, it was like I was reading The Secret Legend of Ling Tian instead of The Legend of Ling Tian and the finale was a Ling Tian Indian Drama.

an average novel with decent ending ig

Finished the novel, because there is a bit of plot armor i will be giving it 4.5/5 or 9/10. There is no fillers, and this novel goes straight xD, like it follows a straight line in the story, thats progression baby
