      He did so because he was the only constant in the everflowing river of time. By eliminating himself he completely changed the course of history and made it so the river of time can be tampered with. Him being alive was like that gu fang yuan can use to mark a specific time in the past to rebirth too. That means its a constant but since fate itself is a constant you need variables to counter it. RLDV made the first variable SAC and by eliminating himself made it so that this variable can't be eliminated. Basically the flow of river of time after his death will never be the same as it was before.

        Not true. Even if he died later, his arrangements would still hold, but that's only if he didn't go back in time again. Dying now or later wouldn't change the fact he tampered with the River of Time already.
