I'll say it's 7 out of 10, funny, adventurous, good translation and most importantly less plot holes.
Only downside would be ending. It's not loose end, MC did finish his job and that was basically it, no few years later or world afterwards or few extra chapters for readers to part away with it. It's so sudden like force stopping heavy smoker who smokes a box in a day. You can fee, author himself was bored with plot or maybe ran out of ideas and was happy to finnish as soon as possible

I ended up enjoying this way more than I thought I would. I can confidently say this novel is super creative and would fully reccomend if you bring some patience because it's surprisingly unique.
It's had me thinking about it a lot even after I was done because it ended up feeling a lot less trivial than so many fast food novels.

Disclaimer: I try to write my rviews as spoilerfree as possible while giving an outline of what to expect. Don't read on if you don't want said outline.

If I had to give it a genre I'd put it in the adventure and exploration cathegory with a good pinch of investigation mixed in.

To start out and also why many probably drop this book before getting to the good part: The novel appears pretty generic aside from the unusual boss at work for the first 200 chapters or so which is admittedly not little.
Only starting with the Aerym arc did it really start to catch my full interest - it's the point where the stories stage vastly expands.

I'll admit I couldn't really be bothered with many of the characters since their quite cliche and serve comedy relief. What also put me off is that the MC starts out really foolish and reliant but he does grow a ton.
I forgave this because I feelt his progression mirrors the underlying theming of the novel.

The world building is what makes it very interesting and is why I recommend it. There's a whole load of very novel and creative concepts and it all playing out on such a broad scale that I'm sure to remember it for a long time.
Sometimes I felt one arc's concept would have been what another novel would have relied on as it's complete world building. I've recently read "Release that witch" and felt it could have been set in this novels universe, no problem.

Also this novel is surprisingly dark below the surface. It sometimes really got me thinking and even depressed about the meaning of life. But make no mistake, the MC and surface story is always one of altruism in the name of work.

Another negative I have to note is that there is some going back on words in the overarching story and state of things. Nothing major and maybe even caused by translation or the sheer size of the story. While reading it felt like the author just wasn't that experienced yet and forgot some details. It didn't have much impact.

Final bonus points for the romance being not overbearing and more realistic than I gave it credit for.

Dropped around chap50ish. Not because its bad, just because it isnt what I was looking for. I thought this novel had the horror tag but its more of a comedy/slice of life. Althought I like the world building, I'll wait for the author 2 other novel to progress. (Deep Sea Embers and Dimensional Hotel)

The first 100 chapters are just an introduction. The "Horror" part comes later. I also made the mistake of not reading beyond 100 chapters at the beginning.

But I tried again later and it was one of the best decisions of my life as a reader. Really the book really begins when the MC explores the "Dream World".

Yeah, 1st OP is right, the Horror part is at a latter portion of the series. later at 100+ like the OP said at the 'Dream World' section of the Novel, where 90% of the plot and mysteries happen.

However, the Horror is really subtle tbh, though it wasn't hidden, it wasn't blatantly shown either, as you have to truly look into the events that you truly understand the horrific situation they are in, and the whole over arching plot of the whole series.

Furthermore, I agree with the 1st OP. this Novel is truly phenomenal, the plot, world building, themes, settings, tone, characters and their development are truly amazing, it truly belongs to the upper 1% of Novels.

Though it maybe be an over exaggeration and bias, placing this novel among top 10 Novels can be debated.

Oh, you can just skim through that whole part, it's not really an essential plot point(It's up to you, however I highly advice not skipping arcs after the 150+ Chapters, cause you won't understand the whole plot and will miss major plot points), it's just the way of showing Hao Ren's (MC) first attempt at being an Inspector, though it barely fits the criteria of his actual work, and that's for you to find out by reading.

I don't get it. Nothing in the synopsis or the reviews explains what this book is about. What's the plot of the story?

The story follows Hao Ren, a young landlord who wants to rent out rooms in his big house. One day, a strange advertisement catches his attention. Intrigued to know what kind of company could release such a strange advertisement, our MC goes to town to see but discovers that this company has changed address.

But on the way back he crosses paths with a young woman who is looking for our MC's house because she wants to be a tenant. Even more incredible, this woman is a Werewolf. But this is only the beginning for our MC since the next day, a vampire also wants to become a tenant at his house.

However, as the MC discovers the paranormal side of Earth, a strange phone call with an incomprehensible number reaches him. It turns out that the strange company that intrigued him earlier knew that our MC wanted to see them. The voice on the phone gives our MC an appointment in a deserted place.

Curious, when our MC is there, he will be teleported to a strange celestial mansion then led by a strange fog-headed servant inside an office. There he will meet a woman with a strange serial number as her name and proclaiming herself Goddess of our universe.

Our MC will then discover great truth about the universe. Indeed, in the vast multiverse, three extraterrestrial people have reached a technological level so advanced that they are capable of touching the laws of creation. These civilizations manage the entire multiverse and protect it from threats that lower civilizations cannot resolve. For this, these civilizations create gods to manage and protect each universe.

The goddess in front of our MC is one of those goddesses artificially created in number. However, these gods are very powerful, so powerful that they cannot move to places that are too "fragile" at the risk of causing more damage. Furthermore, having only one god per universe, they can only deal with the most serious threats.

This is where the Agents come into play, exceptional mortals of lower civilization, even underdeveloped. They are hired by the god of their universe to manage problems too serious for normal civilization, but not enough to move a god. These agents have the technology of the three divine civilizations to carry out their mission. Threat of parallel universe, destruction of civilization, ... so many threats that the agents must face.

And our MC was chosen to be one of his agents. Hao Ren's first mission will be to accommodate non-human tenants in his house and protect them. But very quickly our MC will realize that his goddess' plans go further than that. Indeed the dreams of our MC seem to be connected to a parallel universe which seems to have undergone a sort of apocalypse. Hao Ren and his tenants will have to discover the truth behind the catastrophe that this universe suffered in order to avoid its collision with ours, which will push his goddess to destroy this parallel universe to save ours, despite the survivors.

However, the origin of non-humans on Earth could well have a link with this parallel universe. Investigation, mystery, horror but also humor and epic battle are present in this novel.

so an unexpecter journey of a landlord and his house that was suddenly visited by supernatural tenants. The new tenants turns out to be part of a multiversal exchange plan of interplanetary cohabitation planned by "gods".

As a apostle agent of transport and cohabitation mc is now involved in multiversal travels and adventures to explore appropriate habitat and different tenants for said exchange program.

~ This is how a real summary looks like. no more than 3 paragraphs straight forward and concise, give a general idea but nothing substantial.

I am French, and in France the word "Synopsis" does not exist. We use the word "summary" instead. know

Moreover, if I wrote a long introduction, it is because many readers stop after the first 100 chapters thinking that this book is just about paranormal cohabitation, when it is much more than that. wiseacre

And finally your implication that I do not know how to write a Synopsis (While that was not my goal, I remind you) is written in a slanderous and provocative way. finger

There were more polite ways to make this kind of remark to me. know

It is definetely good, I recommend it.
Some characters sometimes annoy me, but most of them is mostly good.
My personal favorite is Lil'Pea, she's so cute and adorable blushed
Though the story is original and very good, through there are some boring parts, but its a long novel so its expected.
Some parts could have been improve, but its a 9/10.
