    This is wrong. This is objectively wrong.

    I hope that we're about to discover that either this isn't really the MC, or he's being manipulated, or he's testing them.

    If observation truly meant "conscious observation" then no measurement device would be needed to cause the wave function to collapse. Simply having humans in the room would be enough. Meaning the double slit experiment would always show particle-like properties.

        Of course no one understands the nature of consciousness. It's a philosophical and scientific black hole. At least, for now.

        But one thing we can be certain of is that if consciousness actually affects reality, that should be testable and therefore provable. In particular, the claim made here about consciousness collapsing the wave function has been proven, scientifically, to be false.

        Anyone claiming that consciousness manifests reality is not speaking from the perspective of science. They're relying on pseudoscience, metaphysics, superstition, religion, etc. People can believe what they want to believe. But from an empirical perspective, the existence of consciousness is indistinguishable from its non-existence.

            There is evidence that human consciousness is not responsible for the wave function collapsing. The mere existence of a device that allows the collapse to occur will inevitably cause the collapse to occur, whether a person is there to witness it or not.

              What alot of folks don't get is these experiments are carried out under ideal conditions. That is to say environments with little to no interactions happening outside specific parameters. This is why you can get pseudoscience like "only conscious observers matter".

              Any interaction with other waveforms will subsequently collapse both of them into a probabilistic outcome. This includes regular ol matter.
