    Losing control is the greatest terror in this novel.

    In some ways, it's worse than the evil gods themselves. The fear of losing control, the need to avoid it, is a prison of the body and mind. Acting the wrong way, having the wrong emotions, visiting the wrong locations, hearing the wrong sounds... can all lead not just to death, but to turning into an abomination; destroying everything around them and perhaps everything they care for. They have to stay calm in the face of terror, or else they will truly succumb to it.

    In this chapter, pity... acting on a feeling of empathy and remorse... would have been enough to make the MC lose control. I think I would have failed that test.

      Klein knew though, that he is Zhou Mingrui AND Klein. From being a Seer and up until being a Faceless, all of this helped him merge together the memories. He's not just a transmigrator anymore, he IS Klein Morreti, and the one here was just a remnant part of his psyche, not the actual Klein.

        I think its a tad more nuanced, that was the "actual" Klein in the truest sense. but that doesn't mean that Zhou Mingrui isn't Klein aswell. I believe that this spilt personality is literally the splitting of the two so no matter which one appeared they are the real them and at the same time the other is also still them and each other.

        They are one and the same thus when his personality splits both personalities are 100% the original version no matter what happens. the only problem here is that if he lets one of the spilts live then its admitting they aren't the same, on the other hand I believe that it is possible for the split to win without Klein to lose control aslong as only one personality remains at the end. ofc the remaining personality has to still be sane so as not to immediately lose control afterwards.
