“The three elements of life on easy mode: an exceptionally handsome appearance, an extraordinarily intelligent mind, and a healthy, strong body. And I possess them all.”

Reborn into a parallel world, Yan Huan, a disciplined and outstanding high school student, was ready to embark on a glorious chapter of his life. However…

Over a decade after his reincarnation, five girls with peculiar golden fingers set their sights on him.

“…Let’s all be brimming with positive energy.”

Facing their menacing stares and figurative sharpening of knives, Yan Huan, who had only read The Spring and Autumn Annals, responded as such. Collapse

This novel's chapters are a mess. Some chapters are missing content, but go to the mtl for full content, and suddenly there's a whole chapter missing every once in a while, but often enough to be a problem, so you have to go back to the other version. And that's ignoring the huge inconsistencies with the translation itself, with names changing from their Chinese version to a Japanese version, which just makes it clear it's probably just whatever ai/translation tool confusing itself and the translator clearly not giving a damn.

Anyways, the story is alright I guess.

A 4 star novel. Decently written and solid humor. My only complaint is the wrong name translations. Other than that, I'm looking forward to it.

Overall, I'd rate this 3.8/5* at ch. 25.

This novel is about a guy who is reincarnated into a parallel world and spends his entire childhood and youth working hard on grades, hobbies, and fitness—ultimately becoming the school’s “Mr. Male God Heartthrob.” Unfortunately, five girls, each more unhinged than the last, randomly receive X-rated golden finger powers ranging from time stop to hypnosis. And of course, they decide to use them on our protagonist, the No. 1 Eligible Bachelor.

To make matters worse, he’s chosen as the one who must convince these girls to give up their powers… or else the world will end. The setup feels like a strange hybrid: a weird translation of a Chinese-style urban drama webnovel plagiarized from an English wish-fulfillment story, that was heavily inspired (read: copied) from a Japanese school drama anime; one that was adapted from an obscure light novel with a comically long title that wouldn’t even fit in Ranobes’ character limit.

That said, it’s not a disaster. The five female leads are distinct, with powers that are clear and recognizable. The protagonist is refreshingly balanced: neither a clueless beta pushover, nor an overpowered alpha who steamrolls everything. He’s grounded, sometimes underpowered compared to the yandere-leaning girls, but that’s what makes it fun; watching him navigate overwhelming odds with wit, emotional intelligence, and quick thinking when unexpected challenges arise.

As of chapter 25, he’s uncovered the powers of two girls, while still working to deduce the others, and we as readers learn more about the “modifiers,” the girls’ backgrounds, and their goals. Pacing feels solid, neither too rushed, nor boringly slow.

In contrast to another comment by #Deathseeker#, I found the writing solid, with only minor errors (e.g., occasional mix-ups like referring to the MC as “her”). The prose is easy to read, though it definitely falls into the “junk food” category of novels: entertaining, but not exactly deep.

    Overall rating: 3.8/5.

Thanks for mentioning me in your review. I know most novels can't be judged with few chapters but junk food is meant to be thrown into garbage and taken ocassionaly.
