I've tried so hard to continue reading this but I JUST CAN'T. I'll keep it short, the book has 0 Cause-Effect. There's never the feeling of something leading to another thing. It feels like bro is in some sh1tty video game. After the arc where he fights the protagonist the story loses all tension, the story moves like, "MC does this, then he does this, then he does this." There's no cause and effect or reason to anything. I'll give an example, MC for many chapters was looking for 5 fragments of a sword to craft the ultimate dao blade, alright simple enough. Finally once he finds the final piece he should be able to combine the pieces and use it, right? WRONG!! I'll just quote it here because I was so dumbfounded.
"Unfortunately, despite the condensation of sword energy, the True Divine Sword ultimately couldn’t be reformed, and after a long time, the five pieces slowly scattered.

"What’s going on?" Xu Zimei looked at Qing Ling and asked.

Qing Ling was the first piece of True Divine Sword fragment that he had obtained, which had developed its own consciousness.

Master, the True Divine Sword is difficult to restore by itself after being fragmented. You must find the Nine-Bend Godly Flames and the Supreme God Hammer to reforge it," Qing Ling replied, "and not to mention, the Sword Spirit is still missing."

This book is complete filler and a waste of brain cells filled with face-slapping that doesn't even make sense. Bro reincarnates talking about not wasting time with children, then literally steals a literally child's lolipop cuz she blew her tongue at him. I don't even know how to describe that. Waste of time, not at all villainous just a dick-head who argues with everyone for no reason, ZERO tension because MC is never at risk of ever dying or even losing a fight, even if his opponent is like a 10,000 year old ancestor. Save yourself the time and skip.

When I started reading, I thought why this plot seemed too familiar to me? At first I thought it was because there was a lot of similar stuff, and that's why I had a feeling of familiarity, then I realized that I had read this novel before, and I abandoned it in later chapters.

I don't remember much anymore, but I remember that one of the reasons why I abandoned this novel was that the author dragged out the plot too much. Literally a huge number of things that will happen in this novel make no sense. Many of his prepared schemes and plans that MC will set up throughout the plot in the lower world will simply not even be mentioned later, not to mention using them.

You see, right? The author will make us spend a large number of chapters on how the main character takes a subordinate, helps him seize power from his family/sect/guild, then helps him develop it in order to use it for his own needs in the future, but as soon as he leaves this place, he immediately forgets. There won't even be a mention of these people or factions that he subjugated) And it's as if they never happened. And the question from here is - why did we read it then, and spend time on it?

In fact, there were enough minuses there, I just don't remember them all. I remember that I was simply burned out from the nonsense that happened in the plot when he rose to the upper world.

You can still read the plot about the lower world, if you don't mind meaningless arcs in the plot. But the upper world is just awful.

[Title : I’m Really - nah, let’s Just Call It: “Dominate, Rinse, Repeat”]

If you crave stories where the MC burns with righteous vengeance, climbs from dirt to deity, and body-slams every ancestor in a 500-mile radius—this one starts off hot. I mean it: flaming Dao-heart, triple-punch karma-seeking, heaven-slaying fire.

    The premise?
    Revenge
    Get Stronger
    Dominate.....

Repeat. Repeat. And repeat again until your cultivation bottleneck is just your patience threshold.

The early chapters hit just right. You want to see this guy climb. You want to see which poor fool offends him next. And when the heavens themselves finally go: “You dare?”—you’re in for a glorious clapback.

But let me be clear: by chapter 1000, I wasn’t cultivating; I was grinding.
    "You dare offend my sect?"
    "Can we not make amends?"
    "Get the ancestors out!"
    "I'm sorry, please spare me!"
Loop that like an immortal playlist powered by cosmic déjà vu. The story wants to sprint, but it’s jogging in sand.

    And then the resets hit.

Ascend to a new world → OP again → Sect drama → Hide power → Smash everything → Repeat. I swear, the MC could be flung into a noodle shop in the void realm and still somehow piss off a noodle-making emperor whose ancestors once sneezed on the Dao.

Even the overarching revenge plot, which is deliciously layered like a cultivation onion dipped in spite, starts to feel like... performance art. "You touched my woman’s disciple’s cousin’s soul imprint?! DIE, MORTAL!” And somehow, he still wins. I admire the energy.

Honestly? I’m still reading. There’s a mad joy in watching him make gods weep. But if I had a wiki to skip every sect-roasting filler arc, I’d be riding cloud nine.

    Final Verdict:
Like an aged spiritual wine—potent, but sometimes watered down by filler.
3/5 stars now, could ferment into a 4 if the upcoming arc does more than just remix the same old heavenly beef.

Haha, thank you so much man..... messages like this really hit home.
And yes… maybe in the near future. It is in the plans, just needs the right push (and enough coffee-fueled nights). ethsky

That said, bit of a heads-up...I’ll be grounding my reviews a little more moving forward. Some of the roleplay flair didn’t sit well with parts of the community, so I’ll dial it back. But the heart? The passion? The energy that makes people laugh, nod, or even scroll back up to reread a line? That stays. bow

Appreciate you, truly. aaand if I ever do put pen to story, you’ll be the first to know. yeah

Read about a 1000 chapters. He partially looks like a villain for about the first 100-200 chapters, after which he’s pretty much an anti-hero. It also gets repetitive with him destroying sects back to back. Also, some of the side arcs are insanely boring, and the power system isn’t that great either. I’d rate this 3.5/5.

Review after Chapter 405: I like it. There's a cool world lore with how things are and there's alot of subplots with a clear cause and effect to things making the world of the story feel alive. Sometimes the MC feels a bit aimless in terms of wanting to grow stronger as an overarching goal but the chooses to wander around destroying sects for their loot and stumbling across treasure. The 1st hundred chapters are the best part of the book because of MC's battle against the [PROTAGONIST] but
the story lacks a clear tangible goal besides get stronger. And while still interesting I'd say it becomes less compelling still something I'll continue to read regardless. In terms of MC's character and him being an "anti-hero" I'd have to partially agree and disagree. I don't think he does good things in a wrong way (anti-hero) I'd say he's just a chill villain. He'll kill you and your whole family if he wants but if it's not convenient he won't bother. Overall, pretty solid Chinese novel with face slapping and all the classic staples.

Got to chapter 53 and think I'm gonna drop it here. It's just kinda...boring? He definitely is NOT matching the synopsis at all.

MC regressed with his memories up until his defeat at the hands of the protagonist. He says he will take advantage of the knowledge and be the evil master of the board this time around and all that, but so far most of his actions are just typical regressor stuff.

He manipulates some random people he comes across that will be useful in the future for him and all that, but he basically does nothing about the actual plot starting. He sees the main love interest (who basically strung him along and utilised his influence before dumping him as soon as she was strong enough to go be with the protagonist) arriving at the sect, which signals the start of the plot - yet he basically just looks at her and does nothing. Even later on he meets her properly when they are all taking the sect entrance exam and he just says something cryptic to her then leaves. Doesn't take any actions against her, and when his parents suggest the engagement to him, he just comes up with some random excuses to turn it down.

His actions are much more shameless than villainous tbh. He has the typical villain traits of having lapdogs and killing anyone he wants, even if he promised them before he would let them live etc. But he isn't anywhere near some of the other villain novel MCs who actually do proper evil stuff without issue. He is mainly going around places, acting like a smug know-it-all and kinda flirting with any women he comes across, though unlike others where it's clear they do it to make people lower their guard, here it's not clear why he is acting this way. It just makes him look worse.

Imo the main reason I decided to drop it is that there are chapters which are just solely dedicated to the protagonist doing protagonist things. He has the typical old man in the ring cheat and is going around getting fed lucky encounters and stuff. Like full on chapters where MC isn't even mentioned at all.

It feels weird to have a villain novel where there are tons of chapters just completely dedicated to the protagonist POV - especially because they haven't even met yet. Personally the typical plot armor protagonist stuff is boring af at this point, so having to read lots of chapters like that I'd annoying. ESPECIALLY since the MC just isn't really a proper villain either.

Overall, it's not really a proper villain novel. It's more a shameless regressor novel that cuts to a typical plot armor lucky protagonist novel for a few chapters at a time. Wouldn't bother.

Sadly spot on. I've even started delving into the dreaded land of MTL novels and my god... I now understand why so few novels get proper translations. Especially Chinese ones. Like 90%+ of them are just the same generic settings and about the same amount are full of racism/nationalism. It's honestly staggering how how many MTL novels I dropped because of Chinese racism.

The only positive of MTL is that there are TONS of novels that update daily depending on the site. Also, given AI, the quality is much better than it was a few years ago.

Oh damn! I was just reading the MTL version of this couple of weeks ago. I did not read much (around 40 chapters ). Truthfully, I did not like it, I thought the mc would be cruel and cunning. Instead he is a bit childish sometimes. If you are looking for a cold hearted villain, then this is not the one, except if it changes much later on.
