I hate rushed end. Author said, this novel should've gone through several more reincarnation travel arcs, ascension to immortal realm, demon realm and and finally figuring out source of longevity Dao fruit.

Basically, there were 1000+ more chapters but story ended at 30%< just because Author not vibing with it.

Hey! Was kinda enjoying reading this but later on more and more chapters have missing paragraphs and it ruins the reading experience. I've lost a few plot developments because of this and it feels as if i skipped chapters. It's not this site's fault though

after the mc leaves the 9 continents it becomes pure shit, the author no longer able to make a good history copy pasted like all investiture of the gods with a few changes and we basically see the life of wukong, what a waste of interesting novel, later the mc appears once every 15 chapters and there are less and less timeskips. i'm dropping this

After chapter 30, everything turns into dreary shit. He turns into a dumb knight in white armor who saves everyone.

As with many novels the start is very strong and this novel really brings a unique dynamic with the side characters in the first arcs.
The weakness is it does not have any good plot so new characters come and go out of nowhere, it tries to mask this with slice of life, but it gets very repetitive. The author also copy pastes the same scenes over and over which he then masks with it being the MC's "hobby". So you end up in this loop that drags. This is more a weakness of webnovels in general, where people make up chapters as they go. Just that there are some novels where major arcs flow into minor arcs and have overarching plot and nested (levels within levels) logic. This is not one of them, its more in the "trash" category, but that does not mean its unreadable. 3/5 rating because you get what you expect and it does not use immortality as a gimmick but executes on it well. This means if you have low expectations and the other reviews / summary interests you then you can enjoy.

It's a great novel. Our character is shy and values his life. A complete farm novel, 10/10 I recommend it to all of you.

Edit: Currently at Chapter 183 - still continuing. The part I mentioned below about him being like Han Jue is even more accurate than I intended. . He makes quite a few changes whilst hiding from trouble and takes on many different roles - Farmer, Alchemist, Demonic Beast etc.

In terms of his actual cultivation, he is still not talented and doesn't have a spirit root. He is utilising his Immortality really well imo. Given his lack of talent, he just slowly grinds away at things until he can achieve them, whether it be breaking through in cultivation or learning spells. Even despite that though, he still does his best to ensure as little risk as possible. He prepares TONS of Foundation Establishment pills when breaking through, is constantly deducing for any auspicious/dangerous signs when he learns that spell and even when breaking through the next realm has a 99% chance, he waits until it reaches 100% before making that step.

I'm definitely going to continue this and keep up to date with it.

Original Review:

Currently at Chapter 75. It's honestly pretty good, provided you can deal with the somewhat janky translation quality at times. The chapters are surprisingly long too, since they aren't all cut up into multiple ones.

I originally went into this thinking it would be more cultivation based on the description, but its quite a lot of politics tbh (for the first 50/60 chaps at least) - emperors fighting for Succession, scholars and military generals schemes etc. Majority of which MC does his best to avoid.

He is very low key, but not to an extreme degree - he reveals enough strength to be respected and be in a good position, but not enough to be threatening etc. That being said, if people do try and assassinate him he has no issues killing them and burying them under the fruit trees in his courtyard. Early on when he is weaker, he still shows that he isn't a complete pushover by holding a grudge against some young master who abused his power against him in prison. 10 years later when the political stuff caused him to be imprisoned for real, MC made sure to get revenge. Similarly he manipulated a prisoner to kill another one who posed a potential risk to him etc.

In terms of his "cheat", the synopsis seems to suggest he finds it but really it is a part of him once he crosses over - something he obtained from a cultivation simulation game he played in his past life. It basically just gives him infinite lifespan with no other benefits. No system or skills or anything.
The way it is described, it is the Eternal Life type of Immortality. He can still be killed.

He practices multiple different things in multiple fields, since he knows he can just use time to make up for lack of talent. One of them is a demonic technique that lets him absorb others Qi in exchange for his lifespan (5 years of Qi for 1 Year of lifespan). The way it is described is that the lifespan gets taken from him, then the Fruit/Core thing restores him back to peak.

Recently, as he has some more strength, he has started to make some moves in the shadows to gather more information and the like for himself, as well as seemingly confirming his ideals to be very similar to Han Jue (Top Tier Providence), at least at the start of that novel.


He has also finally stepped into the "Cultivation world" [basically found an area with other cultivators. It isn't a seperate world or anything.] He decided go do the usual low-key Protagonist thing of becoming a farmer, but given his infinite lifespan and his lack of any Cultivation skills besides some very minor talismans, it makes sense. There is still a focus on maintaining relationships and the like, but less of the political stuff which I'm personally happy about. Idk if it was just the janky translation but it was kinda annoying to read through all the political machinations and figure out what they all mean and stuff.
