They called him trash—until he started treating the Dao like a Dataset.

When demons slaughter his new family, computer scientist Johan—now reborn as Yu Han—survives by pure wit. He gains access to the mysterious system that all cultivators use to defy the heavens.

The Dao.

But it won’t be enough. Betrayed, stripped of everything but his clothes and a worthless booklet, his only way to live is to join the prestigious immortal sect recruiting new disciples. But before he can even step into the sect, he slaps the faces of two powerful young masters.

Yu Han should have no path forward.

But in his past life, he wasn't just any programmer—he was a corporate warfare consultant who wrote not only code but obituaries, treating business rivals like lines of bad code to be mercilessly eliminated.

Trash talent? He'll code his own. Death feuds with young masters? Mere bugs to debug. No money? Just another optimisation problem. Watch this blood-thirsty fatty sprint toward immortality, bringing algorithms to sword fights and treating cultivation like a hostile takeover!

First though, he needs to lose some weight.

***

What to expect:

- Weak to Strong. Poor to Rich. Fat to Fit!

- Earned progression through blood, sweat, grit, and lots of devious planning.

- Xianxia with a LitRPG twist. All cultivators have access to the system. It isn't the MC's unique cheat.

- No Harem

- Third Person POV, with a 99% MC focus

- Warning: Sensitive Content. It's NOT a grim dark story. But there will be dark elements (there are a few hard chapters near the beginning of the story).

emm nah, i really tried to like it but with the current release rate and chapter pacing it seems like it'll be a while before what i want to see comes along. The current chapters are just quite bland imo.

Quality wise, its well written but things are just uninteresting in the start i assume, so maybe ill come back to it once more chapters have come out

Too early to judge. There's no unique method of mc as if yet. He's mostly in dark In regards to cultivation . For now he is just some fat dude getting enemies out of nowhere every 2 days for no reason.

I don't really know how to describe this novel. It's not bad, but it's certainly not the best either. It's just, there I guess. It left me with an itch that didn't get scratched, after reading the part about coding his own talent in the synopsis. Assuming it's chapter 32, and he hasn't made a single advancement in his realm, it'll probably take years until that happens.

I don't know why but I don't like to expect much from stuff that usually mixes technology and cultivation/ magic. Somehow, most of them are trash while few are gold when it comes to these type of novels. There really isn't much of an in between.

Even without mixing "technology" and fantasy elements, I cringe at the thought process of the author.

The issue is that most people simply have no clue about the proper definition of technology and science. The most important point is that magic and cultivation also possess their own technological tree. The application of knowledge is the core aspect of technology.

The challenge of combining science and magic in a story often lies in the need to genuinely understand the scientific principles involved. A compelling magic system should not rely solely on vague or unexplained 'rules' that make it feel arbitrary or omnipotent. Instead, the key is to create a dynamic interplay between science and magic, where each complements and limits the other in meaningful ways. If the story resorts to 'it works because the novel says so,' the magic system often ends up feeling like an overpowered force capable of doing anything(which is most of the time just bad writting, like if its Xianxia you could understand it maybe, but most dont have that freedom in the system they create), undermining its believability. A successful integration requires a balance, where both science and magic are grounded in their own logic. Even as a math student, I wouldn’t really know how to properly mix science(as in even just the math Aspekt)and magic together in a way that works(as in everyone can also understand it). It just shows that, on top of understanding both sides, you still need to put in extra effort to actually make them fit together right.

You should try "That Time an American was Reincarnated into Another World".

Top fantasy novel where the guy starts bringing tech into the world.
