Ethan accidentally rode the wrong train and ended up in Brynhildr Magical Academy where Wizards and Witches are taught on how to use Magic.

As someone who didn't have any magic powers, he thought that he would be punished for being in a place where he wasn't supposed to be. Fortunately, due to a stroke of luck, the teenage boy managed to avoid the worst case scenario, and ended up staying in the Magic Academy to learn magic.

Ridiculed by many for being magically crippled, Ethan strived to adapt to his new school life with the help of his new friends, who made him realize what True Magic was all about. Collapse

And if I were you, I would give this work a chance. It is much better than most books in this genre on this site.

What is happening has a logic.
There are no absolutely terrible pianos peeking out in the bushes.
More or less correct behavior of the characters.
There are small problems of building peace - but they are, on the whole, acceptable.

what is the R18 tag for? Is it for violence? 'cause I don't see any sexual tags here although the romance genre is a bit sus but that's about it (I'm thinking it might be similar to 'The Regressor and the Blind Saint' with the unexpected R18 chapters)

You're not even giving the book a chance; it's good. The emotionally weak tag was only in the beginning chapters, where he was troubled with the idea of killing as a normal adopted human child; he was even only fifteen at that time. That entire arc even led to massive character development afterwards, and in the later chapters, he was bringing down literal armies. The cowardly protagonist is also something that only happened during the earlier arc, where he was afraid to kill. After his development, he was basically slaying gods to save his wife.

This novel, like all of the author's other works, is similar, from a weak protagonist to getting powerful haem members to saving them, as always to killing gods. But unlike the others, the world-building here is much more unique and very similar to Harry Potter; he even uses a wand but is not weak without it as well. I'm honestly shocked to see so many low ratings. it has amazing writing quality, plot, character development and world-building. If I were to use guild ranks to grade this, with the highest being SSS and the lowest being F rank, I'd put this novel at a decent S rank.

Damn I feel dumb, 300 chappies in and I only just realised who Ethan's other half is......It all makes sense now.

Honestly this novel is essentially Harry Potter but if Harry had gone to hogwarts when he was 17 instead of 11. Instead of all that camp Your a wizard harry he was a mudblood who the other wizards shit on for essentially having Filch's magic capacity for most of the time.

Yes he works around this and figures out how to repair his magic and because it's age appropriate teenagers they are all horny devils but honestly there's not much attempted rape by the bad guys unlike most of these kinds of novels.

Is this novel a magnus opus, no it's not. Like Harry Potter it's essentially a light read and it's a little bit camp or naff but overall solid and easy to binge. Has some tropes and cliches but overall it's pretty light on them. I'd give this a solid 5-6 out of 10.

I will give a little synopsis, MC is a ordinary human who wasn't supposed to learn magic got into a magic school, while it wasn't the best and got Harem going on the plot and storyline is quite fun like the previous book from the author.
