    I would not even mind this narration if author didnt make those nations resemble our earth nations (most notably, korea, japan and usa).
    At that moment I have no other option then to call it out for what this is, shit writing.

    He could either make the resemblance and chalk it up to some reason(as it currently was), or only leave shenxia as china and not make other countries resemble earth's so much. It clashes with the current narration. So either the conception changed mid writing and author didnt bother (shit writing) or he lacks the imagination to create. But with this novel being so far actually quite decent and enjoyable I doubt it was imagination. The only way to salvage it would be to say there are other ancient ancestors from other cultures too and countries were made to resemble them. But that would clash a bit with what author tried to claim so far, that being only chinese having a real and "magical" heritage so to speak.

    Thats why I can only call it shit writing at that point. And thats regardless of any political stance to whatever issues you might have or approve of here. Lets just hope it the last time it happens and we can chalk it up to poor planning in author's first novel. Any more and the novel will be seriously polluted.
