      Because it IS cringe. This novel has been a chore to read. I've only stuck around this long because I enjoyed the parts that explain his power increases and him discovering the scope of his abilities. The rest has been the author's weird little masochistic wet dream. The only reason I'm still reading is because I want to see what bullshit the author comes up with to explain Maeve's resurrection.

    Doesn’t really make sense, if he wanted to devour a planet and not kill everyone, he could just leave and find an uninhabited one. Problem solved, kinda seems like he can’t be bothered so just kills everyone instead
