      Because these “other useless things” are important. Nobles are the only ones who dominator powers and also have knowledge to access the higher noble title you have. So him being a noble, having land, and dealing with all this politics is necessary. Or else then, he won’t be part of the noble circle and won’t be able to get knowledge nor allies nor power without it.
