The only people you killed are the ones that you were told to kill, right?" Nick asked.

Dang Nick, you should’ve immediately noticed it admitted to only killing when it was told to, meaning Horua’s death was ordered and not an accident.

So, if nick thinks about all the answers the dreamer gave, he can deduct that horua death was not a coincidence.

The owl basically confirmed that all the people who died, he was ordered to kill them. Even horua.

And he basically confirmed it twice when he "said" that he can stop the nightmare at any moment preventing the death of the target.

But does the author want his mc to realize it "yet"?

      1. Nick probably tried to think as little as possible about Horua so he probably won't make the connection by himself.
      2. Horua was theoretically alive so i think that allowing weaker people to work with the dreamer can be risky. At the very least the dreamer needs to pay extra attention to the person's breaking point

Nick told Dreamer to put him in the nightmare for 8 hours. He said if he doesn't succeed he'll not work with them. The Dreamer got out of the when he "died" to show he didn't kill it outright.
