This story is no longer on hiatus. Thank you to everyone who waited for its return.

According to prophecy, the ninth-born child of Lord Orellen will have the sort of power that changes the world. But in a land ruled by magical families, no one welcomes the possibility of a dangerous new player. Fearful even of their allies, the Orellens come up with an extraordinary and deadly scheme to protect themselves.

If the most powerful people in the world wish to kill the ninth-born, they will have to find him or her first. And that's not going to be easy when the Orellens have called upon dark magic to create hundreds of heirs. The boys and girls are given new bodies, new names, and even new magical talents before they are scattered across the continent. Only one among them is the real ninth, but all of them will have to grow up in a world where they are fugitives.

Kalen, once fated to die, is now an Orellen heir in hiding. And he is determined to survive, even if he has to master his strange new powers to do it.

The Last Orellen is a long, character-focused epic fantasy with progression. It's set in a vast universe, and it's about a boy's journey to become a powerful magical practitioner. Reviews are deeply appreciated. Please do not repost my work elsewhere without my written permission.

What type of reader is this book for? You might enjoy The Last Orellen if you like...

Clever and resourceful protagonists.

Big fantasy worlds. Multiple cultures, lots of characters, many different types of magic--this story is expansive rather than closely focused on a narrow storyline.

Old-school epic fantasy.

Progression fantasy that takes its time. Our main character will be progressing through magical ranks, but this is going to be a lengthy story. If you're more about the journey than the destination, this might be the book for you.

Currently, the story is updating approximately once per week. Short chapters may appear more frequently. I will be back on Discord shortly.

Is it worth getting into this novel considering the extreme hiatus? Don't want to invest in a fallen novel or one with cliff hanger hiatus.
Would appreciate some advice from fellow avid readers.

the best work of this release.
when I saw the race of elves, I already wanted to throw it away, because these main races with demons dwarves and so on have already been tortured. if the author can't come up with something new, you can try not to write the work.
boring world 1 -2 -3 emptiness? nothing new, the magic is not so bad, but it's too confusing, I didn't go into it.
the job is above average, it looks like a royal castle

High quality writing and very interesting story. Solid 9/10. Already bookmarked it for future reading.

    Pros
    1. MC is sensible so far.
    2. World building is at a good pace, not too rapid and not too slow.
    3. Side characters, so far, have their own personalities, and their interaction with MC is a fun read.
    4. There are so many mysteries to be explored and so many side characters to look forward to, especially titular orellan family and their run from their enemies after the prophecy being announced to whole world.

Only downside is 1 chapter per week, but if the author can maintain high quality writing and plot of the novel, then it's all good.

Read the second line bro, although i didn't like the way he put it, but i think if the original novel is freely available by the author then we can atleast read it on the official site as a way of showing support. I mean we are all here cuz of we don't wanna pay in webnovel. i totally get it because i am the same. But if it's free officially then what's the problem ? Shouldn't you at the very least do this much ?

Meh too much effort and fanfictions are also free on webnovel but decided to read it on ranobes. So the question is WHY BOTHER? And don't talk me why I should do what you're saying or the other guy says, remember this is a pirate site all contents here are basically stolen so we can read it for free so your reasoning is not valid.

But if it's free officially then what's the problem ? Shouldn't you at the very least do this much ?

Why would I? Are you my parent? If you want to support the novel then go ahead and keep it yourself just remember where you are talking right now and for fck sake this is a pirate site if it's uploaded here then so be it. It's only a matter of preferences and back to my question again WHY BOTHER?

if it is so much of a bother for you to read on the free original source, then why bother read this so called "average fanfic", it must make your eyelids too tired to bother

Are you my nanny? Are you dumb? Oh my god....... You are so stupid that you can't even imagine and predict what is going on. Your question is like this: 'why people still watching some dumb and mediocre movies even though the cgi, plot are garbage'. One word and it's called BOREDOM YOU F*CKING IDIOT

U see sir, my laptop has limited capabilities, I open one RoyalRoad page in the background and it is as if I opened Facebook on google chrome or st. WHY? Why would I do that to myself when I can open 50 ranobes pages and not get affected?
As a consumer, the only thing I give a shit about is myself, after that comes the author... Bft just kidding, after that comes my laptop. If RoyalRoad Authors need my meager support they better demand that the site stops skimping on their web developers' budget.
p.s: If and when I upgrade to 32 gigs of ram I will start feeling a bit shameful.

Exactly. This is why I like ranobes as well. The page comes up clean and neat, without ads, popups, perfectly spaced and ready to read. Almost all other sites have commercial breaks right in the middle of the text, much of them animated and putting some strain on older computers.
