After fulfilling the duty all arch necromancers are tasked with, Sylver Sezari was not expecting to ever wake up again.

But he did.

And after crawling his way back into the land of the living, he’s alive once again. In a strange land, a strange time, and with a strange floating screen in front of his new face.

Either through plan or chance, he’s alive again, and planning to enjoy himself to his heart’s content.

***

— The story isn’t grimdark, but it’s not all sunshine and rainbows either. There will be lighthearted and positive moments, as well as some sad ones. That being said, it’s a whole lot more light than dark.

— This is a LITRPG story.

Chapters are published every 2 days at 21:00 GMT.

Author’s note:

— It can get very GORY. I’m somewhat desensitized to gore and violence. So while the story isn’t full of gore for the sake of gore, it can get a little too descriptive.

— The MC is a necromancer, so corpses and decay, and all the things that come with it, will be mentioned from time to time.

— I’m a huge fan of Egyptian, Slavic, and Greek mythology, so expect quite a bit of that. That said, so much is altered, you’ll be hard-pressed to guess how exactly it is being used.

— Despite being ‘immortal’ the MC can die. In the event he does, the story doesn’t end, simply time skips forward. Which in some cases is going to be worse than just dying.

— I love plot twists, as much as I love red herrings and Chekhov guns. Deus Ex Machina’s not so much. Collapse

Why is the chapter only goes to 279 and not until 291, you can find it on book 7 just scrapped it and upload it in here. Does this only mirror royalroad chapters?

I’m 50/50 on this novel. The main character is unusual—a reincarnated immortal lich in a
who’s trying to find his friends and students. The problem is you don’t really see the immortal lich. I didn’t think he’d be cold-blooded and emotionless, but I did expect a professional demeanor. At first, that was there, but in some situations—like
—he completely lost his shit and threw a tantrum. I get it, scary, but with
Also, instead of writing like this “it’s over Anakin I have the high ground” author writes like this “I formally declare this debacle of yours as terms for your defeat. Henceforth, I will proceed to conclude our lightsaber combat, Anakin. Observe, my former pupil, for I possess a tactical advantage granted to me by my undoubtedly considerable altitude: therefore, given your less than remarkable disadvantageous position, it would be most unwise for you to proceed.”

The system is very generic, not much to say there. The real issue is the author’s attempt to blend the system with laws of magic—that contradict each other more and more as you read. If you stop to think, a lot of what MC does doesn’t make sense. For instance, lead is not part of the system, and its inherent property is that it blocks magic. If you have lead on or in you, you can’t cast spells, and if you face a door made of lead, let’s just say go find another way in. Yet, throughout the novel, the MC ignores this, even though suffers time and time again from it. One gun would’ve solved 90% of his fights with 10% of the effort and he knows about guns. And not exactly a rocket science to come up with lead projectiles. Anticlimactic I know, but hey I don’t make the rules just an observations.

I get why you think that but personally I like give published authors more benefit of the doubt. Like All you described about him is ment to be like that by design cuz you know, he is old and stuck in his ways. Plus there was an explanation for guns being too mechanically complex to work in their world same as steam engines. Also the clash between his magic and the system magic is a main theme of this story. The system wants him to do magic a certain way to gain levels and he has a huge ego like, "this stupid system that im seeing for the first time will tell the Silver lich how to do magic?".

I'd give more of a 8/10 and I'm comparing LOTR and LoM and wheel of time. All 10/10 in different ways.

Well I’ll give you everything except an attitude. Like I believe I would’ve been able to stomach it if he didn’t loose his shit all the time. If it’s required for word count or something at least make it seem like he’s loosing it in his head cause I’m not buying it from 8k+ dude. Dunno, maybe I got too spoiled with liches like Och or Quatach-Ichl though.

Also, putting LoTR and WoT with LoM. Ouch. LoM is incredible but is it written with same care and effort as former two?

Waste of time if you are looking for an op mc. Mc here is a gay pacifist who tries to help ppl all over the story. While reading you'll get lost. Mc start a quest/mission, it will get so complicated that you'll forget why he was there in the first place. Really a sahne and waste of potential...

Really great read. Small problem is that at the end of some chapters it goes "it'll be easy/how hard can it be" and you know that it will be the opposite. Annoying but can be ignored because its such a good book

It's called planting a flag and it's a writing technique. The author is trying to hint that something will not go well with this quest. You have to understand as an author you have to walk a fine line between making the story predictable and then twisting your expectations on the head. Like a joke. Going into either direction too much can ruin the story.

Not reading this yet but looking at other reviews its clearly gold. This author might also be a descriptive type with a good mc to go along. Immortal but death time skips. Similar to how shadow of war's death mechanic and nemesis system. Should be a good read.

as of ch13, the mc is a 'hero' necromancer, ever saw such a thing? yeah no i didn't.
he is weirdly lawful and good natured considering how he was an old necromancer in his last life.

The first chapter is extremely confusing, but as you go on it clears up a lot.(as of chapter 4) Written very well, but the formatting of the system is distracting
