    So since everyone is coming up with theories I'll present one myself

    It's like in a future sunny survived third nightmare and eventually conquered even fourth unfortunately the price of survival was all his friends and maybe even nephis
    In the end by the time he became a sovereign humanity might have already fell in ruins while at that point he could have attempted 5 nightmare to become sacred he unironically chose not to why? Because from what we know cursed nightmare creatures are immortals there is at least no limit to their lifespan so being a sacred might lead to devastating long life that sunny who has lost his friends can't bear to live
    But knowing sunny and his spite he isn't someone who'll just bend and sucide to let world have last laugh either so he chose to explore he explored for a long time learned many secrets and in the end came up with a way to send a memory to his past self and let him save him friends defy fate and change the future
