    I get that the great clans allow for stability to some extent but its not the immediate aftermath of the nightmare creatures and the spell anymore. There are public institutions and order that would remain even if the great clans were eliminated.

      as much as I agree that the great clans protacted the world from a much worse outcome, it doesn't make what they are doing now any better. They were a solution before, but now they're a problem and it's a bad idea to stop progressing towards the better in the name of their past actions
