    What's even the point of this? This is so futile that why would even the creators of the LO49 put their laboratory just right beside the ocean? They could do underground or much more secluded place. Extremely stupid.

    Unless sunny would gained another ichor of blood of the Weaver or gained a memory about mind attacks to withstand the madness causes by that hateful weapon?

        Think before you comment you fool.
        If you'd continue reading then you know by now how forced this plot was just to have our MC discover his principles.

        To use this facility as the start of his realization, then it's extremely lacking of some brains by the author to the start the plot using a flawed facility with lack defensive measures and escape routes against disasters just like these.

        While they have 2 options to escape by the sea and land, this also compromises their options to escape once these 2 route are populated by the enemies and be attacked by 2 sides(land and sea). Did they not think about the risk? Of course they did, gates are random to isolate these people.

        Logically, Since they've known this risk, why would you still use this flawed facility which just right beside your enemies? Do they lack the materials build a new one? Since even rare master can be stationed, what's so hard to build a new one?

        The obvious answer to this thread is they should do their research either in underground, high mountain, inside the mountain, right beside or inside the city itself which much more safer.

          There is risk everywhere. Having an already built, fortified establishment that has lasted decades armed with an Ascended and his army to conduct and build upon previous research seems plausible. They never considered the need to evacuate due to it working and this progression of Nightmare Chain in the world of Shadow Slave is novel. While it is not best practice, I can guarantee this is how the inefficient, bureaucratic world works.

      The months long nights make a perfect scope for long periods of lunar observation. And the observatory was built before the Spell. And it's mentioned that LO49 is built at the southernmost edge of Antarctica, so it's the best location.
      Btw what is a Sprigan like you doing so far in the Shadow territory?
