    There are so many arguments in the comments, one side is saying mc's dumb cause he was thrown into a seemingly endless ocean of horrors that could eviscerate him at any moment, at 17 btw, while the others are trying to tell the other side why living in an apocalyptic horror land where you life can be for naught at any mis step makes sense.     I will say this, MC atleast in this instance he is careless and arrogant. He thought he could deceive him, and instead slipped his tongue. He is alone and confident in the beginning, simply he could have left the group instead of bothering himself with all this. When he is streetkid he did all he could to survive. Harper has done the same, with his weak aspect he is trying and desperate to survive. All MC could have done was say it to the FMC, he would be thrown out or killed by fmc. It wouldn't have been a problem. The MC worrying that fm would kill all of them, but he killed him instead of her. Irony.

      His IGNORANCE of the world is a flaw, it has been hinted at so many times but you're seemingly blind...

      He doesn't know abt alcohol and its strong effects, the author even hinted it again this chapter for ppl like you who can't read between the lines

      All those factors made him lead to a false assumption
      This has nothing to do with being calm headed or smart

      At the start of vol 1, sunny knew those 3 characters right from the start
      He wasn't a genius, just someone who didn't trust anyone nor hesitated

      And funny you use mc from the start as an argument when we had little knowledge of what he was actualy thinking, it's to make a COOL introduction
