Can’t say I didn’t see the reason for the killing coming but I am surprised that sunny would drink knowing that it would mentally inhibit him

And atlast, the constant lack of recognition and feeling of jealousy combined with actively trying to sway the conversation with truths fked him up.

I like sunny but he did not need to say dat shit. How drunk and in his feelings was he. Anyway I don't expect this shit to be a one off.

Sunny is gonna have to learn tbag everyone he talks to is just 1 question away from him needing to kill them.

you cannot call that a mistake. ever since he discovered the true nature of his aspect, especially the second “flaw,” he has lived with the constant awareness that giving away his true name could place him under someone else’s control. that fear has always been in the back of his mind. but he is not the ruthless, emotionless person some of you reduce him to. he has always had a conscience. feeling empathy for the trapped sleepers being used as collateral in a march toward the crimson spire is not weakness, it is consistent with who he is.

add the circumstances. he was drinking. he was actively trying to redirect the conversation to shield nephis. he was thinking several steps ahead while managing his own internal conflict. being caught off guard in that moment does not equal incompetence. it reflects pressure.

and the “old sunny would have never done that” argument ignores his development entirely. the version of him from the first nightmare survived by isolation and distrust. that mindset was not sustainable. change comes with friction. if he had remained that detached and self-preserving, he would have walked away from nephis and eventually paid for it, fated or not. a cohort is not optional in this world. even the strongest do not thrive alone.

Saying nephis is a healer was pretty smart of him but going on with harper's plan was never smart of sunny simply because of his flaw, like we saw, he couldn't do anything when harper asked the right questions with the right wording, at first i thought he killed him for knowing too much, maybe letting nephis's flaw slip because of his own, but this is exactly why he should've never accepted his offer, because he grew up in the slums he should've known what alcohol does to one aswell, very out of character but i get it, he's still naive

It was a combination of factors: the despair that he wouldn't return home after arriving in the city, the isolation he experienced within the hunting group when in reality he wanted to be recognized—after all, he's a naive child—and finally, discovering that Cassie's vision had already revealed his entire future and all the sacrifices he would have to make...

But still he's shown time and time again that he's cunning aswell, sunny even heard the guard tell harper to praise sunny to get him to speak, plus sunny would know better than anyone the effects of alcohol, hes from the slums
