Chapter 51: Lolis? He Still Prefers Mature Women!
“Kid,” Fake Li Hongyou said as she pulled her car up to the entrance of Bai Xuan’s apartment complex. She glanced over, handing him a card. “If you or your sister are ever interested in joining the Investigation Bureau, give me a call. That’s my number.”
Before she’d even finished speaking, a card with nothing but a string of digits fluttered into Bai Xuan’s hand.
He glanced at it, nodded, and replied, “Alright. I’ll seriously consider it after I graduate.”
“Bye-bye~”
With a lazy wave, Fake Li Hongyou drove off.
Bai Xuan stood there for a moment, watching the car disappear down the street before finally turning to head home.
Stepping inside, he called out to Serene, “Let’s go. We shouldn’t keep Little Mare waiting.”
“Mm.” Serene nodded softly, following Bai Xuan as they stepped together onto the Teleportation Array.
Meanwhile, alone behind the wheel, Fake Li Hongyou picked up her phone and dialed a number.
“Hey, Little Hongyou?”
As she spoke, her petite, delicate figure began to shift—her body lengthening, curves blossoming, features sharpening into a striking, mature beauty. Waves of wine-red hair spilled over her pale, flawless shoulders, exuding a languid sensuality.
“What is it?” Li Hongyou’s impatient voice crackled through the phone.
“I’m heading to Plum Blossom Three’s location now,” Liu Mufei said, a sly smile tugging at her lips. “You’re in charge on-site.”
“You found her?”
“More or less.” Liu Mufei’s gaze flicked to a tiny black insect, sealed within a glass bead she held.
“Fine. Got it.”
“Oh, and by the way~” Liu Mufei’s tone turned teasing, “I just had dinner with that kid.”
“Who? Am I supposed to know him? What’s that got to do with me?”
“Nothing at all~” Liu Mufei laughed softly. “He’s into mature women, you know. The bold, commanding type. Your little flat—well, sigh~”
“...Liu Mufei, are you looking to die!?”
“Ehehe~”
...
“What a boring, insufferable woman!” Li Hongyou snapped, shooting a glare at the battered Four of Spades puppet.
Only one Spade Puppet remained, and even that was reduced to just a head and torso.
“Damn it! Li Hongyou, why the hell are you here?!” Four of Spades snarled, teeth clenched in rage.
“Noisy!” Li Hongyou snorted, flicking her wrist—instantly, the last Spade Puppet exploded into a mess of flesh.
Back in the basement, the real Four of Spades tore off his puppet-control helmet, roaring at Plum Blossom Three, “Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!”
“Didn’t you say Li Hongyou was eating with some male student? How’d she show up there?!”
“I—I don’t know! I was monitoring her the whole time, she was definitely with some guy. How could she...”
“Fuck! I lost all my Spade Puppets!” Four of Spades cursed, bellowing, “If I’d known, I’d never have worked with a useless piece of shit like you! What a waste of my time!”
He grabbed his things, preparing to bolt.
“Where are you going?” Plum Blossom Three demanded.
“Out of Ninghang City, obviously!” he spat. “I’m never coming back to this shithole. You and this city are both garbage...”
“Sorry, but you’re not going anywhere~”
A sultry voice cut in.
Both turned, startled. Leaning against the doorframe was a woman with long, wine-red curls, lazily sucking on a lollipop.
“You’re—”
BZZZZT—THUD!
Four of Spades didn’t even finish his sentence before everything went black and he crashed to the floor.
“Four of Spades?!”
Plum Blossom Three rushed over, only to find he’d already stopped breathing.
“So, what about you?” Liu Mufei stepped forward, pulling the lollipop from her lips. Her gaze was cool as she asked, “Want to end up like him, or come with me to the Investigation Bureau?”
“Is it over already?”
Su Yue sat by the window, gazing out at her villa’s grounds. It seemed the Extremist Organization’s assault had been effortlessly crushed by Li Hongyou.
“Not yet.”
Even as she spoke, a glimmer of golden light flashed through Su Yue’s room.
In the next instant, Bai Xuan and Serene appeared out of thin air.
Su Yue stared, momentarily stunned.
She was certain her villa was equipped with specialized spatial disruption devices—neither Anomalous Disasters nor spatial-type Supernaturals should be able to barge in directly.
So how did this guy in the Slime Mask manage...
She suppressed her confusion and asked, “What do you mean, ‘not yet’? Didn’t the Investigation Bureau already deal with the Extremist Organization members?”
Bai Xuan didn’t answer. He simply glanced at his mission log—the mission hadn’t been marked as complete, which meant it wasn’t over.
“You’re late this time.” Suddenly, Li Hongyou appeared at the window, arms crossed, confidence radiating from her as she addressed Bai Xuan. “I’ve already taken care of all the trouble here.”
“Are you sure?” Bai Xuan turned to her. “Both Extremist Organization operatives who infiltrated Ninghang City are dealt with?”
“Of course.” Li Hongyou lifted her chin, her tone resolute. “Word just came in—Four of Spades is dead, and Plum Blossom Three, who was lurking in Ninghang City, has been taken back to the Investigation Bureau.”
“...?”
Bai Xuan fell silent, lost in thought.
Plum Blossom Three, who’d been hiding in Ninghang City all along?
But the Mission Note clearly said: two Extremist Organization members have arrived in Ninghang City.
Which means...
“No, that’s not right,” Bai Xuan shook his head. “There’s still another member of the Extremist Organization lying low nearby, waiting for the right moment to strike.”
“Another one?” Li Hongyou’s eyes narrowed. At once, she activated her telekinesis, sweeping the area with a mental net.
It didn’t take long for her to sense something amiss.
“Found you!”
Without another word, Li Hongyou looked up at the night sky, using her power to lift a decorative stone from the villa garden and hurl it skyward.
BOOM!
The rock exploded midair, shards scattering everywhere.
At the center of the blast, a figure slowly materialized—a person clad in pitch-black armor, wearing a Plum Blossom Five mask, hovering in the air, eyes glowing red and cold as they gazed down at Li Hongyou.
“So there really was another one!” Li Hongyou snorted, and with a thought, sent the falling rock fragments whistling toward the enemy like bullets.
But just as they were about to strike, every shard froze in place, suspended in midair.
“This guy...?”
Li Hongyou frowned, a flicker of shock passing through her mind.
Her telekinesis—was being suppressed!
Just then, a raspy voice drifted down from behind the Plum Blossom Five mask:
“Li Hongyou, you’ve been using your abilities for quite some time now... do you really have the strength left to deal with me?”
The words had barely faded when the floating shards suddenly reversed course, accelerating straight at Li Hongyou!
“Shit!” Knowing she couldn’t dodge, Li Hongyou raised her arms to shield her head, bracing herself with a telekinetic barrier.
But at the critical moment, a figure burst through the window, sweeping her into their arms—together, they plunged toward the ground...
