[The City Of Aegis.]
Its status was similar to that of an oasis in a desert.
It was just a small unknown remote city at the corner of the Northern plains but those who lived in this wilderness knew that this place was a kind of heaven.
No matter whether it is beast tide or monster tide or in winter when Orc starts their raid, there has never been an occasion where it was attacked.
People residing in it and others who travel had never seen any monster within a radius of fifty kilometers of this city.
There have been many rumors circulating about this place.
Some say, there is a strong warrior residing in this place whom everyone fears.
Some say this city is invisible to monsters and beasts while some say that this city is built on the magical land which keeps them at bay.
No one knew the actual truth but there was one thing certain about it. This place was a safe zone.
It was also the same this year.
As soon as the orcs started their raid, people started to hurry their way here.
A small rumble started to emerge from the ground due to the steps taken by a group of Orcs.
A group of 200 Orcs started to march forward.
Leading them was a monstrous Orc with a height of 4 meters. He had a scar on his right eye and a long claw mark on his chest.
“Khuck!” He snorted in disdain as he stared at the small city ahead.
“So, this the place where those weaklings hide. I have heard rumors that this city had a big powerhouse in it and also heard another rumor that this place is magical and we can’t step in this place.”
“Hmmm! It is all false. I can’t feel any sign of a strong warrior in it.”Another Orc muttered.
“All I can see is a bunch of weak-ass 2-Stars humans hiding in it.”
“Whatever may be it. Today, I Mason, the chief of the Lorbumol tribe will flatten this city into dust.” He muttered.
Pulling the huge mace on his shoulder, he put it on the ground.
“Grrrrrrrr!”
Mason roared releasing all his strength which in the blink of an eye reached 8-Star.
The ground underneath him cracked, unable to handle his pressure and a strong gust of wind started to emerge from his body.
The entire place shook with its fierce roar. He clenched his fist tightly and beat his large bulging muscular chest.
BOOM!BOOM! BOOM!
Shockwaves after shockwaves were created with each beat which swept away the dust and debris.
He slammed his feet on the ground forming a huge crater and slamming another on the ground, he jumped towards the city shooting towards it like a missile.
The ground under him was blasted and everything crumbled into dust, the shockwave was strong enough to push away the group of Orcs behind him.
Mason with a heavy leap lunged forward towards the city tearing the air before him.
But as soon as he reached the periphery of the city, his eyeball widened with horror and before he could react he raised his arm to block it.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
A powerful attack tearing everything in its path slammed against its chest.
The Orc leader started to cough violently, spitting out the blood.
“Measly human! How dare you!”The Orc roared with bloodshot eyes.
Though he was able to remain alive, he had to sacrifice his left hand.
Blood gushed out from his shoulder which had its arm missing and the Orc was in bad shape.
But even after that, he had no choice but to fight forward as if he returned to his tribe in this state, his death was guaranteed.
Lesh stared at the scene with a solemn expression like the humans.
” The Orc’s resistance and persistence were surely on another level,” Lucas muttered as he stared at the scene.
The Orc who noticed the leader coming out alive burned with fighting spirits and started to roar.
The battle that had come to standstill, erupted again.
CLANG!
Lucas parried the attack and struck the Orc fiercely with his fist.
The Orc struggled a bit and swung its axe but Lucas had already closed the distance and slammed his knees on its jaw, crushing his lower mandible.
BANG!BANG!BANG!
Lucas was seriously surprised to see the Orc standing up with broken bones all over the body, it was a good punching bag in a way.
As Lucas engaged in a fight with Orcs, only a couple of seconds later he felt something was moving toward him.
It was not that his senses were playing tricks on him, rather it was giving him a premonition that danger was coming.
Lucas couldn’t sense any fierce aura nor the appearance of strong war. Still, his heart became uneasy and he felt a sense of crisis coming toward them.
“No, I shouldn’t ignore it.”
“My sixth sense had never been wrong. Oddly it was even on par with people having danger detection.”
Lucas narrowed his eyes and analyzed his surroundings. He found that a group of vultures that were flying above them and seemed to make a strange noise
CAWW!CAWW!
It looked as if they were talking among themselves or sending a signal to others.
“Captain Xanth, I am feeling uneasy.”
“I feel as if we are going to be targeted.” Lucas tried to explain.
“What!” Xanth muttered with a surprised expression.
“But why! We are winning this battle. We are soon going to finish this damned Orc.”
Lucas pondered for a moment and answered, “Captain Xanth, what if these Orcs have sent reinforcements?”
Xanth who was fighting suddenly frowned upon hearing Lucas’s words.
Swallowing his saliva while calming himself down”We are going to be in trouble if they send reinforcement.”
“But what can we do? We can’t leave the place, otherwise, the Orc will invade the land.”
“Moreover, I think your worry is unnecessary.”
“The Orc isn’t that stupid to send such large-scale troops otherwise if a full-scale war was blown out, they will be surely annihilated.”
Xanth hadn’t even finished his speech when the ground started to rumble and shake.
Xanth’s eyeball widened with horror and with a strange look, he muttered”Did I just jinx the situation?”
