Chapter 410: Lightning

Deorant’s eyebrow twitched.

[“The list of dimensions? Why are you asking about that?”]

[“Shouldn’t I know where I planted the seeds to distinguish the dimensions to investigate?”]

It was a valid reason, but Deorant’s frown deepened further.

[“I don’t want to tell you every detail about those things.”]

Even though Ryu Min was a dimension supervisor, in front of Deorant, he was like a mouse facing a cat.

If Deorant refused, Ryu Min had no choice but to accept it.

[“Ah, then, if you could tell me which timeline you’re heading to next...”]

[“Such ridiculous demands. I don’t want to continue this conversation. Can you leave already?”]

[“...My apologies.”]

Ryu Min bowed courteously and exited the space.

—————-

“Did he notice something?”

As soon as he descended to Earth, Ryu Min had that thought.

But he soon shook his head.

“No, if that were the case, he wouldn’t have let me go so easily.”

Perhaps Deorant was simply tired of being questioned so meticulously.

Asking for the list of collapsed dimensions and his own movements had been too much.

“I would have liked to ask how to locate the hosts and seeds, but... there’s no way around it.”

If done wrong, he could be deemed suspicious or might even have to fight Deorant.

From that perspective, it was wise for Ryu Min to leave the dimensional space.

“With the power I sense, a direct confrontation with Deorant is impossible. Plus, I can’t use Elsis’ function.”

If it came to a fight, the chances of winning wouldn’t be high.

It wasn’t for nothing that he was a God of dimensions.

“What now?”

Even after pondering it, he couldn’t find a way to win.

“Should I ask for help from the God of Massacre?”

For a moment, he entertained that thought, but soon discarded it.

“No, the dimensions on that side and this one are completely different. I’ve already received much help; I can’t keep relying on them.”

So, he needed to find another solution.

Deception and waiting for an opportunity seemed the best options for now.

“First, I must stop the hosts and seeds of this world.”

Deorant would soon scatter the hosts and seeds across the world.

Although he lacked the ability to detect them, it wasn’t impossible to find a way.

“I’ll use the power of time to confirm when and where the space opens. That way, I can know where the hosts and seeds will be scattered.”

With that decision, he focused and waited.

Ryu Min’s prediction was correct.

“I sense something. Deorant has opened a space.”

With wings spread, Ryu Min flew towards the coordinates where the space had opened.

Then he saw it.

Three hundred hosts and twelve seeds falling in the middle of the desert.

“Bingo.”

——————

“What an annoying guy. Clings to me and interrogates me.”

Deorant let out a sarcastic laugh.

It was because of the supervisor he had recently met, Death Scythe.

“Is he asking me to tell him where I’m going? How absurd. And what’s that? Asking me to tell him about the dimensions in the process of collapse too? Haha, how funny.”

In a way, it was a legitimate request from the perspective of a dimension supervisor.

Investigating collapsing dimensions would be a waste of time.

Even so, the feeling of being watched made him want to get rid of him.

“And on top of that, his superior is Thanatos. Why has that God of Death ordered dimension supervision?”

He knew Thanatos was the God of Death, but he had never met him.

He didn’t know what he looked like or what purpose he had for sending a supervisor.

“I’m already managing the dimensions myself. Is he trying to score points by helping me?”

There was no connection or common interest between them.

“Either way, he’s doing useless things.”

It was like finding an annoying fly while happily cleaning.

To Deorant, Death Scythe was precisely that.

“The fly is gone now, so which timeline should I head to next?”

He had just scattered three hundred hosts and twelve seeds in this world.

Soon, the hosts would disperse one by one to designated points in each country, and the seeds would awaken and remember their missions.

“After that, the timeline will collapse on its own.”

Once the hosts and seeds were scattered, there was no need to worry further.

He only needed to plant the seeds of collapse in other timelines.

“So, where should I go...? Hm?”

Suddenly, Deorant’s face tensed.

“One of the hosts... has died?”

The signal from one of his creations had been cut off.

He hadn’t yet left the timeline, so he noticed it.

“How... did this happen?”

A creature designed to be invincible to human hands had died.

He couldn’t help but feel curious about who had killed it.

On the one hand, he was in shock.

But this was only the beginning.

“No, no! What is this...?!”

Deorant’s normally imposing expression turned to panic.

He couldn’t believe what had just happened.

“The hosts... have vanished in one blow! The seeds too!”

The creatures he had lovingly created, as if they were his own children, had been wiped out in an instant.

In disbelief, he opened a dimensional rift and looked down on Earth with the eyes of a God.

And then.

“That... that guy is...!”

He recognized a familiar figure.

“Death Scythe...?”

Amidst the corpses of his creations, he saw the dimension supervisor staring up at the sky.

——————–

“I’ve been found out in the end.”

Ryu Min lifted his head, following the sensation of an open space.

Deorant was probably watching him with the eyes of a God.

“It was inevitable. If I hadn’t acted now, the hosts and seeds would have spread across the world.”

Ryu Min couldn’t miss the chance to eliminate the gathered enemies.

Despite the risk of being discovered, he had killed them.

“There’s no avoiding a fight with him now. It just happened a bit sooner than expected. But for now, first...”

He had to escape.

Ryu Min moved quickly like a flash of light.

——————–

[“Where is he?! Where did that cursed bastard flee to?”]

Deorant, with a face twisted in anger, scanned the world frantically.

With the eyes of a God, he could see the entire world and meticulously scanned it.

But he couldn’t find the God who had killed his creations.

[“I’ll find you and tear you to pieces, Death Scythe!”]

Deorant’s eyes glowed intensely.

His pupils trembled thousands of times in a short period as he scanned the surface rapidly.

It was proof that he had pushed the performance of the eyes of a God to its limits.

It was like searching for a needle in a haystack, but finding him wasn’t impossible with that level of performance.

[“I’ll find him. And I’ll kill him.”]

He found no traces indicating he had left the timeline.

So, he was sure the target was hiding somewhere on Earth, among humans.

And his certainty was correct.

“I found him. That cursed guy is there.”

Deorant located a human with the same appearance as Death Scythe.

Filled with rage, he immediately created a long thunder spear with his power.

“I’ll crush you right now.”

The spear launched towards its target at an astonishing speed.

—————–

[Min Juri: Why didn’t you call me yesterday?]

[Min Juri: If you didn’t call me after midnight, does it mean you’re not interested in me?]

[Min Juri: Why aren’t you responding? Is this all our relationship means to you?]

“It’s been over 24 hours, and he hasn’t even read the messages... Has he already blocked me?”

Ryu Min knew he was being persistent.

But he couldn’t let go of Min Juri.

He had fallen deeply in love with her.

“I didn’t know I liked Min Juri this much...”

He had declared that he would end the relationship if she didn’t respond before midnight.

But now, he was the one begging.

He realized that he was the one who needed her more.

“I don’t want to lose Min Juri.”

He didn’t know why he felt this way, but he was sure he shouldn’t let her go.

He wanted to be with Min Juri.

He was even willing to marry her.

But it seemed she didn’t feel the same way.

“Why did you change? You used to like me.”

Despite his ultimatum, she hadn’t responded before midnight.

It couldn’t be that she had forgotten or accidentally missed it.

“Do you no longer like me? Is that why you’re pushing me away? Why?”

Did she have another man?

In such a short time?

“Could it be she was already dating someone else?”

If that were the case, everything would make sense.

He would understand why she didn’t respond quickly to his proposal.

“In any case, I’ve been rejected.”

More than 24 hours had passed without a response, meaning he had been turned down.

With a sigh, Ryu Min tried to forget about Min Juri.

But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t get her out of his mind.

He couldn’t forget her.

He felt like he couldn’t be with anyone other than her.

“Was I so impulsive because of that? Because I didn’t want to lose her?”

He had used an ultimatum to try to hold onto Min Juri, but it had failed.

He didn’t know why she had rejected him, but the result was the same.

His relationship with Min Juri was over.

“Haa... what nice weather, huh?”

Sighing, Ryu Min looked up at the sky from the rooftop.

He planned to get some fresh air before returning to work.

“Hm? What’s that?”

Something shone in the sky.

Kaboom!

Ryu Min’s memory cut off.

A lightning strike on a clear day.
