Chapter 528: The Gate of Ten Thousand Demons, the Wild Wasteland Beast! |
“Hey, what the hell are you saying? There shouldn’t be any conflict between our Mad King Building and your Sacrifice Building, right?!” A Mad King Building player strode up to the barrier’s edge and shouted at the Sacrifice Building players.
He was genuinely scared.
He feared Xu Lang dying.
If Xu Lang died, the safe house created by the Taleblade Demon Box would collapse.
Then how would they survive the Blood Calamity, how would they endure the next round of the game?
Many Mad King Building players stepped forward, faces grim.
The lower-tier players depended on Xu Lang even more.
“Heh heh!”
“Are you children?”
The Sacrifice Building players snickered.
Hearing that, all the Mad King Building players flushed with rage.
The Sacrifice Building players had never actually fought the Mad King Building before, yet now they were targeting Xu Lang.
This was deliberate murder, a collective plot by the Sacrifice Building players!
“We’re really curious how much loot your nouveau riche leader can drop, ten million Copper Coins? Thirty million Copper Coins? Tsk tsk, can’t even imagine!” One Sacrifice Building player clicked his tongue and laughed.
Another bald Sacrifice Building player stepped forward, staring at the Mad King Building player who had first shouted, and said with a smirk, “So? Are they finished? Want us to go in and fight?”
Bang!
That Mad King Building player slammed his fist against the barrier, fixing the bald man with a devouring glare, his reason draining away.
The bald man instinctively took a step back, then turned red with embarrassment and anger.
At that moment, a low shout came from nearby.
“Gu Mang, get back!”
“Big brother Gu Yan!”
“Back!”
The Mad King Building players returned to their seats. Gu Yan crossed his arms and said coldly, “He’s deliberately provoking you, trying to force you into a conditioned duel.”
“I know!”
“Hmm, don’t rush. Ye Gu only has two hundred combat power... next time have him fight that guy to the death, see if we can trick him into dying. If you fight, fight hard!”
The core of Mad King Building’s eleventh floor were Rakshasa players, loyal to Demon King Castle, the same as the official personnel of the three major departments on the tenth floor.
…
“I didn’t expect the Sacrifice Building guys to rush ahead.” In the Taleblade Building seats, a man dressed in a suit, tie, and leather shoes — the complete office worker look — withdrew his gaze.
His briefcase bulged as if something inside was trying to push out.
“I actually hoped Xu Lang would win. Those Sacrifice Building bastards are the sneakiest when they stay quiet!” Bloody Robe cursed.
The Bandaged Man sighed, “The Sacrifice Building isn’t in the Titan Ruins. It’ll be much harder for us to get that blade now.”
The office-worker-dressed man shook his head and said, “I think this is good. If the stakes are enough, the Sacrifice Building players will definitely be willing to put that blade up for trade.”
At that, everyone’s eyes brightened.
Deliberately losing would be punished by the Iron Blood Colosseum, but if you were willing to pay the price, the five dormitory buildings could, to a certain extent, complete resource exchanges.
It’s worth noting that facilities are contraband and can’t be traded.
All dormitory buildings had an unspoken rule: inspections for facility items were extremely strict; they wouldn’t allow many over-limit facilities inside a building.
Just like the five conventions would coincidentally control nuclear materials.
The office-worker-dressed man continued:
“Besides, if Xu Lang dies, our difficulty in invading Mad King Building will drop dramatically.”
“If we occupy Mad King Building, the rewards Taleblade Building gives us will more than make up for our losses in previous rounds, maybe even give us the foundation to push for a fourth-tier dormitory!”
High-level players liked to divide dormitory buildings into tiers: tier zero meant the building had never participated in building wars, tier four meant it had fought in four building wars.
“Hahaha, Old Xu was right. On the same map, Xu Lang dying would be the greatest reward for us!” Bloody Robe laughed uproariously.
Immediately, the morale of the Taleblade Building players around him rose several notches, and they began placing bets on Kambada.
Kambada was a mid-to-upper-tier player from Sacrifice Building.
Yet by now, even fools could tell Kambada was no simpleton; his past duels were probably all feints — his true strength could be terrifying!
…
Participants had ten minutes to prepare.
Xu Lang and Kambada both took the stage before the time was up.
The deathmatch began early!
Kambada was a brawny man dressed like a gladiator. The moment he saw Xu Lang, he grinned, flexed his biceps and strutted around like he was on a runway.
“After the Coliseum reforms, Sacrifice Building held a game!”
“They settled me 800 Combat Power Points at the end!”
“This is the gladiator outfit I redeemed, isn’t it cool?”
Xu Lang replied coolly, “You’re insecure?”
Kambada’s face changed, “What do you mean?”
“You see me as too handsome, so you’re insecure.” Xu Lang scanned Kambada with his Nightmare Eye and saw a lot of irrelevant information.
This guy’s crush had once seen him and praised his looks.
Kambada had kept that memory locked in his heart, so when Sacrifice Building proposed the plan to set him up to kill Xu Lang, he eagerly signed up.
Right now he was showing off his muscles out of insecurity.
It was hard to imagine people in the Dorm Survival Game getting swept away by lust for beauty.
“Tsk!” Kambada forced a sound through his teeth, irate, “I was just giving you a little time to live. If you’re so eager to die, don’t blame me!”
“You wouldn’t think—”
He stopped mid-strut.
The audience then noticed that a huge spatial sigil had appeared under Kambada’s feet without anyone realizing when.
“Summon!”
Kambada pressed his hands to the ground and shouted.
A massive Vermilion Door shot up from the earth. In its center swirled a black vortex dotted with countless blinking eyes, like stars in the night sky.
A crushing pressure radiated throughout the Coliseum!
“This is the Gate of Ten Thousand Demons, Kambada actually summoned the Gate of Ten Thousand Demons!”
“My god, if he can’t provide enough sacrifices, he’ll be devoured by the Gate of Ten Thousand Demons!”
“Do the Floor Leaders’ trump cards provide enough to satisfy the monsters inside the Gate?!”
The Sacrifice Building players erupted; obviously they all knew the origin of that Vermilion Door.
“This is my offering. I beseech the Gate of Ten Thousand Demons, utterly destroy the enemy before me!” Kambada knelt and prostrated himself, presenting a Treasure Chest with both hands.
“Who allowed you to offer my things as a sacrifice?”
A faint voice drifted from the front.
Kambada’s hair stood on end as he suddenly turned to the side.
Xu Lang was standing right next to him!
The voice was still coming from the front, and the person was already at his side!
He looked like he had seen a ghost: “Impossible — with the Gate of Ten Thousand Demons’ domain suppression, you should be immobilized!”
Xu Lang didn’t know which of his anti-control abilities had kicked in; there were so many. He simply raised his blade and cut.
Purgatory’s Dominance was faster than lightning. The instant the crimson blade glow appeared, the edge was less than three centimeters from Kambada’s neck!
Clang!
A tiger-patterned dragon-claw blocked the strike before Purgatory’s Dominance could reach.
“I’ll be taking that!” A vast wild beast crawled out from the Gate of Ten Thousand Demons and used its claw to stop the blade.
Its body resembled both tiger and dragon. From the moment it appeared, the Coliseum filled with the scent of water elements and the air began to flow as if the beast was born to rule water and wind!
