Chapter 2373: Avernyth Eternity.

"Who killed you?"

Nux asked directly.

No Physical Body.

No Soul.

No connection to any Universe.

These were the conditions to enter the Multiverse.

Let’s not even mention the fact that knowing these conditions itself was next to impossible—

There weren’t many beings in a Universe who could kill one being while fulfilling all these conditions.

There were three kinds of Death.

A normal death, where one’s physical body perishes.

This is where the Soul survives, returns to the Universe and is reincarnated into a new life.

Second is Erasure.

This one’s more uncommon. While many beings in the Universe understand the concept of Soul and know of its existence, a very few could... erase it.

This is where neither a physical body remains, nor a Soul.

And last but not the least—

It’s what happened to Nux.

Where not only was his Physical Body ruined and his Soul erased—

His very existence was removed.

His connection with the Universe, his Bonds, his Links, the people’s memories of him—

Everything was erased.

Almost no being in the Universe had the capability to pull off something this grand, if Nux had to guess only...

The Infinities could do it.

And if the Seer was here, it meant she was killed like this, meaning that the being who killed her... was an Infinity.

Then...

The question arises—

Who was she?

For an Infinity to kill her in a way he did—

What did she do to offend him?

What was her past?

What kind of existence was she in the past?

All these questions overwhelmed Nux’s mind. Of course, he also considered the possibility of the Seer being from an entirely different Universe.

In fact, that sounded more plausible.

Maybe she was one of the Infinities from some other Universe and died fighting other Infinities of her Universe.

But...

For some reason—

As Nux looked at her and he remembered all of his interactions with her...

He felt like... that wasn’t the case...

That the story was somewhat different than what seemed to be the most plausible possibility.

And he was correct.

"Your Father killed me."

The Seer revealed the truth and even though something in his heart already told him the answer to his question, he still asked.

"Was it... Zylarith that I know...?"

"That is correct."

The Seer nodded and the instant Nux confirmed what he was thinking was true—

An answer came to his mind and his eyes widened in surprise.

"You are...

Avernyth Eternity."

"You arrived there quicker than I expected.

That must mean you have already consumed Zylarith’s memories."

The Seer chuckled.

And the moment she confirmed Nux’s words, his eyes widened even further.

"You really are her..."

He spoke like a radio that was stuck at one point and couldn’t move further and he couldn’t be blamed either.

Avernyth Eternity.

The woman who sacrificed her life to save the Universe from Zylarith.

The previous Infinity of Eternity, the Mother of Orravyn Eternity and... the shadow Orravyn had been chasing all his life but could never reach.

That was Avernyth Eternity.

The woman even Zylarith Chaosveil respected and, at some level, feared.

A woman who was said to have advanced the Universe at a rate so quick that their Universe developed a few trillion years faster than it should have.

A woman whose death was mourned by most of the Universe, even today, because while Orravyn had taken her place—

Not a single one of Orravyn’s inventions or discoveries, could even come close to things his mother discovered on a regular basis.

"Wait... but that doesn’t make any sense..."

Suddenly, Nux frowned in confusion.

He had Zylarith’s memories and according to them—

"The Seer existed even when Avernyth did. There were times when Zylarith had seen the two of them together.

Then if you are the Seer then how are you also..."

Nux didn’t complete his sentence. He didn’t have to either, because the Seer understood what he was trying to say and she just laughed.

"Well, I am not just Avernyth."

She answered with a shrug.

"You are Avernyth and the Seer...?"

Nux asked and the Seer’s smile widened.

"I am Avernyth and Vashti.

Actually, in some way, I am more Vashti, than I am Avernyth."

"What...? Vashti...?"

Nux blinked.

And in an instant—

An image appeared in his head.

The woman he had met back in the Temple of Time. The woman the Infinities had cruelly used against him, the woman those bastards tormented.

"You are... Vashti...?"

Nux couldn’t help but frown.

"Yes, as Vashti, I cleared all the Trials in the Temple of Time, learned about the Multiverse and the conditions to come here, then I manipulated Zylarith into killing me, Avernyth, to get here—

Ultimately becoming what I am today—

The Seer."

The Seer explained in a calm, light tone, almost as if she was telling a bedtime story even children would understand without much effort.

And...

The more she spoke—

The less Nux understood.

"But Vashti never completed all of the Temple of Time’s Trials, she was caught by the Infinities before that—"

"That wasn’t supposed to happen."

The Seer shook her head.

"It only happened because your existence corrupted the Timeline. The Infinities weren’t supposed to learn about Vashti and Vashti was supposed to clear the Temple of Time, ultimately Transcending her understanding of Time, learning about the Multiverse and ultimately coming here as Avernyth.

Or in other words...

Me."

"No no no no."

Nux shook his head again and again—

"This isn’t about what was supposed to happen. It is about what has happened. Vashti was caught and even if you made the deal with the Infinities to release her in exchange for giving me to them.

It isn’t clear whether they would honor their end of the bargain, not when you went against your promise first.

Not to mention I have seen Vashti’s memories through Zylarith’s memories, she has no record of being a Seer.

Just what are you talking about?" .

Nux’s frown deepened.

From Zylarith’s memories, he knew what the Infinities had done with Vashti, he also knew that before the Seer came to him, she went to Zylarith and the other Infinities and offered a deal.

Him in exchange for Vashti’s body, a deal the Infinities accepted in an instant and agreed to release Vashti and return her to her natural state as long as the Seer held her end of the bargain.

But the thing was—

According to Zylarith’s memories, while he didn’t particularly care about Vashti since most of his focus was on him, he didn’t think the rest of the Infinities were going to hold their end of the bargain.

Especially not now, when they didn’t actually get his body and were forced to kill him instead.

Not to mention, even if they did hold up their bargain just so they did not offend the Seer—

Every single one of them had noticed a link between Vashti and the Seer, they would definitely keep a constant eye on the Girl just so they could know more about the Seer.

There was absolutely no way Vashti would be able to return to the Temple of Time, let alone clear the rest of the Trials.

Then—

How does the Seer even exist at this point...?
