Chapter 947: Responsibility

Thousands upon thousands of small cubes were in front of Kyle. Every single cube was one cubic decimeter big, and they hovered in front of Manny as he smiled.

"This..." Kyle transmitted as he looked at the cubes with an uncomfortable expression.

"I thought you would be more excited," Manny transmitted with a small laugh.

"I am," Kyle transmitted, "it's just... this is a lot."

"It's not," Manny transmitted. "You have to keep in mind that we're all trying to accomplish the same goal. I have my job to do, and you have your job to do. You're supposed to be our muscle. That means we need to push your Battle-Strength to the highest level."

"You have a responsibility, but how can you live up to your responsibilities if you don't have the necessary resources? For you, getting one cube of every Spacetime Metal is practically impossible without joining Humanity. My position grants me the opportunity to get something that you can't. So, I did."

"Just take and make use of them," Manny transmitted with a smile.

Kyle looked at the cubes in front of him.

One cube of every Spacetime Metal.

He had everything he needed to comprehend the Level Five Law of Spacetime Metal.

Kyle felt it was difficult to accept Manny's gift, but he also knew that he had to. As Manny had said, Kyle had a responsibility, and refusing this gift just because it felt too valuable would equate to neglecting his responsibility.

"Thank you," Kyle transmitted as he put all of the cubes into his Soul Space. "I will not disappoint you."

"I'm sure you won't," Manny answered. "When you're done with the cubes, you should keep the majority of them. Don't sell or waste them. They are valuable sources of Space, Time, and Metal Energies. I'm sure we'll find a way to use them."

Kyle nodded. "I will keep them. If you ever need anything, just tell me. I'll do my best to help you with whatever you need me to do."

"We're working towards the same goal," Manny transmitted. "As long as you keep growing stronger, you'll be doing more than enough. Now, get going! We don't have any time to waste. I want you to shock all of Humanity with your Battle-Strength."

Kyle nodded with conviction. "I will. Just wait for me!"

The two of them said their goodbyes, and Kyle flew towards the closest Sect Branch.

---

On his way, he felt like an additional weight had appeared on his shoulders. Cognitively, he had known that the team was working towards the same goal, but when he had received Manny's valuable gift, he also realized it emotionally.

Every direct member of Humanity received one wish when they became Legendary Sages. These wishes could be almost anything. There was no way that Manny couldn't have used that wish to improve his own power tremendously.

Most members of Humanity used their wish to request access to a powerful set of Rites. These Rites would not only increase their current Battle-Strength but also their future Battle-Strength.

These powerful sets of Rites could be comprehended on several levels. The highest levels even reached the power of Level 5.5 Complex Laws. If someone trained one of these peak sets to the limit, they could essentially create four Level 5.5 Infused Laws and even a Level Six External Complex Law.

Sadly, it was difficult to train one of these sets to the highest level. If one managed to do it, one would be eligible to become an Ascendant.

A peak set of Rites was called as such because it fulfilled the criteria to become a Unique Spirit Lord. In order to become a Fulfilled Spirit Lord, one's Imposing Law needed to reach a quality of 50% or more, and to become a Unique Spirit Lord, the level of one's Imposing Law also had to reach 50%.

These sets were made with Imposing Laws that barely reached 50% quality, and by training them to perfection, it would be like one had created these Imposing Laws themselves. One would reach 50% in both aspects, giving one the ability to become a Unique Spirit Lord.

Manny could have exchanged for something like this. With all of his knowledge, he probably could have trained these Rites without damaging his foundation.

Instead, he had gifted Kyle a Level Five Pure Law.

"I can't fail," Kyle thought as he kept teleporting. "Manny has shown very clearly that he went all-in on me. He prioritized my power over his."

"I won't disappoint him!"

After some time, Kyle reached the closest Branch of the Sects. He couldn't see it yet, but he could feel the dense Energy waves created by countless powerful Formation Arrays.

The Sects created the vast majority of Rites and all of the Formation Arrays. They were the central hub of research, development, and production of Humanity. If some of their secrets were leaked, it could have devastating consequences for Humanity.

One of the Barrier Formation Arrays activated as soon as Kyle arrived, but his Emblem released a small bit of light in answer. However, the Barrier Formation Array stayed active, blocking Kyle's path.

A moment later, a member of the Sects arrived behind the Barrier Formation Array, and a small hole appeared in it.

For some time, the two Seekers just looked at each other.

"I didn't know you were here," Kyle transmitted with a bit of surprise.

"I'm here because it's the closest Branch to Manny," Star Genesis answered. "The wisps required a bit of knowledge of Formation Arrays, and I fulfilled that part."

"Makes sense," Kyle answered. "I hope you've been doing well."

The conversation was very superficial and even a bit distant. The reason for that was simple.

Their auras.

The two of them hadn't seen each other physically for over 20,000 years. That was quite a long time.

When they had seen each other, their auras surprised the other one.

Star Genesis was surprised by Kyle's aura for a couple of reasons. First of all, the intensity of Kyle's aura was far greater than she had anticipated. She could feel how powerful he was, and frankly, his immense power intimidated her a little.

Kyle had always been a bit stronger than her ever since they had entered the Supreme World, but the gap hadn't been insurmountable.

But now, Star Genesis felt like a New Sage looking at a New Spirit Lord. The gap in power was enormous. She could create as many Formation Arrays as she wanted, but she felt like they still wouldn't matter in front of Kyle.

However, this wasn't what had truly surprised her.

Kyle's aura was not only stronger but also different.

The aura he had had in the Primal and Compression Realms was different from his current one. Back then, Kyle's aura had felt free, casual, light-hearted, and determined. This had been how Star Genesis had viewed him for the majority of the time the two had known each other.

Yet, at this moment, Kyle seemed very different to her. He didn't seem nearly as casual anymore, and his light-heartedness had almost completely vanished. His free spirit had given way to responsibility, and his determination had increased several levels.

Instead of someone who just had fun and went with the flow, Kyle seemed like someone who had accepted the heavy weight of responsibility and was doing his best to live up to expectations.

Kyle's new aura could be described with one word.

Reliable.
