Chapter 721: The Ruthless Trio |
“How many people have you captured?” Zang Tianguan asked.
“Not many. Compared to before, not even one percent!”
Wu Tianxiang casually pulled out a spherical orb, and inside it were a massive number of Dominator-level beings.
He tossed the orb toward the azure Dao mark.
When the orb touched the mark, the mark visibly dimmed and dissipated.
Similarly, the massive number of Dominator-level beings inside the orb rapidly “evaporated,” dying silently and without a trace.
Before long, this azure Dao mark completely vanished.
Originally, it would have taken three thousand years to wear it down cleanly, but with six hundred years already passed and twenty-four hundred remaining, it was now resolved in one fell swoop.
But that was all. There were still more Dao marks blocking the way ahead.
Wu Tianxiang casually reached out and pulled out three thousand more spherical orbs.
Each orb contained a massive number of Dominator-level beings.
Wu Tianxiang swept his gaze over them, his brow furrowing deeply. “The numbers are down by two-tenths compared to before.”
“Never mind that! Hurry up! We’re almost at the target!”
Qixin’s eyes burned with anticipation as he looked at the main hall ahead, where only six Dao marks remained.
Wu Tianxiang tossed the orbs one by one toward another Dao mark ahead.
As orb after orb was consumed, after about eight hundred orbs, another Dao mark dissipated.
And so it went. After all three thousand orbs were spent, only two Dao marks remained ahead.
The pace suddenly picked up significantly.
“Originally, we should have been able to consume one more Dao mark. How did the numbers fall so short?” Wu Tianxiang wondered, somewhat puzzled.
Zang Tianguan stared at the two remaining Dao marks ahead, his tone flat. “Since we’re almost there, we can use those ‘livestock’ we’ve been stockpiling!”
The moment his words fell, both Wu Tianxiang and Qixin’s expressions changed.
Zang Tianguan was naturally referring to the subordinates under their respective factions—those they had painstakingly cultivated over so many years, not for nothing.
One reason was to prevent any latecomers from catching up, and the other was precisely for this moment.
At this point, they were only two steps away from finally cracking open the main hall.
Recalling the countless orbs they had spent along the way, the billions of kalpas they had consumed, the hardships had been immense—the Dao marks had numbered over a hundred billion!
With the spirit of Yu Gong moving mountains, they had worn them down to the very last.
Qixin waved his hand. “There’s no need to rush over such a short time. It’s just two Dao marks. We can spend another six thousand years grinding them down!”
Zang Tianguan let out a cold snort. “Delay breeds trouble! The earlier anomalies in the Nothingness Chaos and the reduction in Scavenger results all mean something strange is happening. If we don’t wear down these marks as fast as possible now, we’d be fools!”
Qixin’s expression darkened as he looked at Wu Tianxiang.
Wu Tianxiang also showed hesitation. A faction of their own was a tremendous asset.
“Shouldn’t we think this over a bit more?” Wu Tianxiang couldn’t help but ask.
“Fool!” Zang Tianguan sneered coldly. “Since we used that medicinal pill to break through the hundred-rank threshold, has our strength grown any further? No! Those factions are all just external things to us! Once we obtain the treasures to strengthen ourselves, we can have as many factions as we want!”
His words stirred both Wu Tianxiang and Qixin.
Zang Tianguan snorted again. “Fine, I’ll start on my own. You two think it over carefully!”
With that, he closed his eyes and activated the Zang Tian technique!
Countless cultivators in the Ultimate Dueling Arena—whether they were Chaos Dominators or Nothingness Dominators, no matter where they were, whether in battle, in meditation, or in slumber—
All of them froze at the same moment, as if they had been immobilized. Then their bodies, as if erased by some special force, vanished from where they stood.
The entire territory of the Ultimate Dueling Arena became a deserted place in an instant!
All beings had their origins seized!
The moment they joined the Ultimate Dueling Arena, they had signed a contract.
That seemingly useless contract could take their lives at any time.
Or rather, the moment they signed the contract, their lives were no longer their own.
In Zang Tianguan’s hand, a blood-red orb appeared, containing a sea of Dominator-level lives, and of extremely high quality.
Without any hesitation, Zang Tianguan hurled the orb toward the red Dao mark blocking their path.
Under the orb’s consumption, the mark visibly dissipated.
In the end, half of the beings inside the orb remained, and the red Dao mark vanished with them.
Now, only a single golden Dao mark stood in their way. It was enormous, barring the entrance to the main hall like a gateway barrier.
Wu Tianxiang and Qixin both watched this scene with delight.
It seemed they wouldn’t have to agonize after all—the beings of the Ultimate Dueling Arena alone would be enough to consume the remaining Dao marks.
But Zang Tianguan sensed something was off.
He tossed the remaining half-filled orb toward the golden Dao mark.
Sure enough, the golden mark didn’t break as expected. Instead, it consumed only a fifth of the orb’s contents before dissipating the orb.
“Your turn!”
Zang Tianguan looked at the two with a deep, solemn gaze. “This mark’s recovery speed has surpassed our destruction rate. You two decide for yourselves.”
Wu Tianxiang looked and saw that the golden Dao mark was indeed recovering extremely quickly. Its recovery speed was almost equal to the three of them destroying it at full force, and even slightly exceeded it. If they didn’t use life-elimination, there would be no way to break this mark later.
“In that case,” Wu Tianxiang turned to Qixin, “let’s do it! We can always rebuild later.”
Qixin sighed and nodded.
Both of them felt some regret, but compared to their Dao path, these things didn’t amount to much.
So, just like Zang Tianguan, they acted remotely, eliminating all the cultivators under the Nothingness Prison and Chaos Immortal Alliance.
The revival methods left behind by all subordinates and members within the two major factions were also the ultimate means to strip them of their lives. Whether they were experts at the 98th rank or elders at the 99th rank, at this moment, they completely lost control over their own lives.
Then, in front of each of them, a spherical orb materialized out of thin air.
Inside were countless bewildered Dominators.
This was a total, clean-cut elimination—there was no room for resistance.
Wu Tianxiang tossed his orb toward the golden Dao mark.
The mark visibly wore down to three-fifths, leaving only the last two-fifths!
Qixin acted swiftly as well and threw his orb in.
Under the trio’s expectant gazes, the golden Dao mark rapidly dissipated, until only the faintest wisp remained, but it was not entirely gone.
At that moment, the three of them looked at each other in mutual astonishment.
